Packed mine full of grease! Infact I'm dreading tearing it apart next time as I know the vacuum is going to be tremendous 😂

Thanks for posting informative videos. Tons of knowledge out there, but most of it is locked away in somebody's mind. Happy to see you sharing all of your knowledge

But not so full as to blow the new boots. Also replaced my inner seals used a 3/4 in 12ft metal rod to drive them from the opposite side. Makes it much easier to get them out!

How often would you recommend to do a service on the knuckles?
What kind of grease would you choose?
    Thanks for sharing

Just when you need to replace the boots. Use red #2 grease.

@@tacticalrepair I replaced the cipper boots some years ago, but I didn't disassemble the hole knuckles. There are grease fittings on top and bottom of the knuckles, are they enough to be lubricated?

@@1992bacardiblack yes, if you pump a whole lot of grease in it does go past the kingpins and into the knuckles. But the original grease will be hard and oxidized. Best to at least remove the spindles and shafts and clean the old stuff out.

@tacticalrepair What do you think about the universal joints with grease fittings (Meritor CP750N) vs oil bath?

I prefer the original grease bath type. Greasable joints need to be greased every few thousand miles, just like your driveshaft u-joints. Nobody wants to tear apart the whole hub and knuckle assembly just to grease those u-joints.You can't get at the grease fittings on the Meritor joints without tearing it all apart. Original style grease bath joints do it by themselves constantly, and really only need service if you submerge the axles in water for an extended period or when a boot needs to be replaced.
