Why do so many people moan about his pinch harmonics? It's his style, all artists/guitarists have their own signature sound, and his is the high gain pinch harmonics, just leave him alone? Slash has his smooth lead with the wah, Iommi has the high gain distortion of doom with simple yet amazing technique etc. If everybody had the same amp, sound, technique and playing style then it would all become overdone crap.

God zakk is such a beast this is probably one of the cleanest versions of train I've heard him play. If theres no pinch harmonics it just wouldn't be zakk

Vince was so wasted drinking jack on stage he didn't finish any sentence of the lyrics, he was so drunk the show sucked and I never saw any live album ever from those years! But I'm telling you zack threw the guitar way above him, spun around and it fell over his neck and he continued to play like it never happened, it was amazing and 30 years later I still wonder how the fk he did it

After Randy, I think Zakk has the best stage presence/Charisma of all of OZ guitarists. I just love the way zakk plays Randy's solos. Gus G is good. I have huge respect for Jake but I prefer his originals rather than his version of Randy's works.
Gus G is an amazing guitarist and he does good job when playing with Ozzy but I can't get rid of the feeling that Zakk suits the stage a lot better...( I've attended on of this tour's show in our capital )
Randy was an absolute monster, but Zakk obviously has chops and his style has fit Ozzy's for a long, long, long fucking time. This performance is just about exactly what I expected from him and that's a good solid reliable thing IMO.

Without Randy Rhoads, these songs lose so much of their power and intensity. He had such a feverish intensity that is truly irreplaceable, never mind his technical virtuosity. One of musics biggest tragedies that he was taken so young.

I definately gotta say, those pinch harmonics that Zakk does so well and frequent are great. To produce them requires a much needed skill. I've now been practicing on my EVH striped series replica 4 at least 6 months 2 get that squeal. Them damn things are hard 2 create. 4 those jokers that wanna complain about them, it's clearly because they can't do them and are angry and jealous as a result. Also, I've been playing guitar for 57 long years, and what I discovered in the process is, practice makes perfect. Leave Zakk alone, he can get his squeal on and you can't😂😅😊

Zakk looks very much like he could be one of those Berzerkers reincarnated. Odin would be proud. And I certainly enjoy all the years of fun he's brought us. With or without the flagon.
I always like the original recording. The last run is rarely played like Randy played it on the album. Even Randy changed it up live. Zakk does it here too. He plays 16th notes to end the solo. The original solo did not play 16th notes. It was 4 sixteenth notes in the first bar, then 4 sets of triplets in the next 2 bars, and ending with 4 sixteenth notes in the last bar. That gave it that awesome smooth, flowing run. Plus Randy triple tracked it on the album so you can't actually get the same sound live. But he did not play 16th notes. I wish Gus G and Zakk would play it like the original. On occasion Jake E Lee did.

The difference between Zakk's version and Randy's version of Crazy Train is Zakk just has alot more bends, squealies and the harmonics and Randy didn't but you gotta think during Randy's time it was the 70's and the early 80's so that was some crazy shit during his time plus you gotta think how much better would he had been on his guitars 🎸 today if he had never had been in that plane crash!! Zakk sounds more like a Zakk wannabe in this.. I dig Zakk and he is one of my favs. But the way he played this song during the No More Tears days was way better. It was like a perfect blend of his style and the way Randy played it. Look up the version from the "Live and Loud" album.

Zakk is the only one truly capable of capturing Randy's essence with his own flavour. The solo was pretty much as perfect as you can get.
