      @@68lonewolf-moser I cannot quantify the gains but it's substantial. I feel like I lost a bit of torque off the line but redlining at 7400RPM is super fun. The third gen coyote already moved as a stock truck but with the stage 3 it's really something. Better have sticky tires, mine chirps the wheels at 65MPH into 3rd gear

    The function of the less cam lift in the gen 4 is to bring the peak torque down to a lower rpm, it was getting a little too high for the 3rd gen. I think Ford did a good job. The 4th gen makes both more power and torque and achieves that torque at a lower RPM. My guess is Ford gave the VCT more adjustment like the gen 1 engines again so they can get both the torque and the horsepower on the new design.

    • @jamesm2464
      @jamesm2464 Год назад

      Also have found the 21+ 5.0 has a larger throttle body (87mm vs 80mm) on the 18-20 and the newer version has larger ports in the intake manifold. Your assessment seems correct, the 4th gen motor flows better on the intake side to make up that top end with the lower lift cams.

      I have the 1st gen Coyote. Another note is the 1st gen is the only truck engine to keep the firing order the same as the mustang. i have mine tuned for E85, using HP tuners. The unique exhaust note is why i am keeping my 2013. I read that the firing order is from the original flat head V8 used in the early days of moonshine running. The engine that could out run the revenuers. So far with 219,+++ miles mine shows no sign of wearing out. I will be putting the 18 manifold along with Cold Air in 2025. Already have 2.5 inch exhaust, straight pipes with 2 glass packs, out the back, true duels, into 4 inch cannons tips. sound is amazing. ruclips.net/video/hIq76-Vx_ik/видео.html

      Even though the engines are pretty much the same (same block, heads, rotating assembly, valvetrain minus the cams. They both run a 12:1 CR) between the GEN3 Coyote in the F150 and Mustang, there are some differences that seem to make them mod differently. For some reason that noone seems to know the answer as to why Ford gave the GEN3 Coyotes in the F150 and Mustang a different firing order. This is why they use different cams. Supposedly the specs on the different cams are very similar, but the cams are different due to the different firing order. The other two main differences other than manifolds are that the 15+ F150 with the Coyote is a factory flex fuel vehicle, where Mustang is not, and 18+ F150 with Coyote uses Speed Density, where Mustang uses MAF. (20+ GT500 is also SD) The GEN3 Coyote F150's are very nitpicky about the TB. The 87MM Bullitt TB is generally not recommended for them due to being very hard to get a streetable tune with. The only TB other than the stock 80MM that gets recommended for a GEN3 Coyote F150 is a 90MM one that BBK makes. Otherwise most tuners just recommend staying with the stock TB. I can only assume that running an OEM 87MM Bullitt TB being an issue with the F150 Coyote trucks is due to them being SD instead of MAF, but IDK for sure.

    So does the 18+ GT manifold still need adapters to fit a 22 F150? If so, is there a difference between the heads on the F150 vs mustang? Also, did this have anything else done to the truck (exhaust?). I too am waiting for a whipple after the warranty is over, but I wouldn't mind throwing a few hundred bucks on an intake... that being said, spending 800 bucks on adapters kinda kills that IMO... might as well put that money towards the blower/longtubes/etc...

    • @oztuned
      @oztuned  Год назад +1

      Yes, the 21-23's need the adapters for a 18+ GT intake to fit. The bolt holes don't line up and the heads are different because of the F150's cylinder deactivation. Our SP Machining adapters are about half the cost compared to another company with better quality and it is a more complete kit.
      Just a MBRP catback was on the truck at that time when this video was shot. We now have a Whipple 😊.

    I’m being told by some idiot that with a GT intake manifold, you lose torque and dude swears up and down he’s right. I don’t know what kind of bum ass tune he’s using but it looks a whole lot to me that this truck gained roughly 20 ft lbs of torque and a bunch of top end hp compared to the stock tune and manifold. I just bought a Gen 3 GT manifold for my Gen 3 Coyote F150 and can’t wait for this. Glad to see hard evidence that the torque isn’t tanking.

  • @BoostedBoyd

      My wife’s 2021 has a 3.31 ratio in her f150 and it does feel like it has less torque down low. But that truck is stock and the gears don’t help down low either.
