    I bought the a6000 brand new, two years ago and it's been my go to camera since then. I use it when I travel and for every day shooting. I've invested in a good lens like the Sigma 56 mm f1.4 and the results that I get with it are stunning!

    Good job !... I bought one recently just to use with my manual focus lenses - I could see no advantage in buying a newer version like the A6100 or A6300 for this purpose - it does everything I need it to and more. I can understand why it has stayed so popular for so long.

    • @KarlWeinreich

    I have owned the A6000 for nearly 5 years, and bought it primarily for travel - due to its compact design and advanced features. I got sick of lugging my DSLR as a flight carry-on. One detriment you missed is battery life. If you are out shooting for the day, better have two charged batteries with you! Not a real problem; I do the same with my Sony Alpha 100 DSLR.

    • @KarlWeinreich
      @KarlWeinreich  Месяц назад

      @josephterranova4855 It's fantastic to hear about your experience with the Sony A6000 over the past five years, especially considering how it has enhanced your travel photography with its compact design and advanced capabilities. The decision to switch from a DSLR to a mirrorless camera like the A6000 for travel purposes makes a lot of sense; those weight and size considerations can really impact the enjoyment of a trip.
      You bring up an excellent point about battery life, a factor that can sometimes be overlooked in discussions about camera gear. It's true that when you're out and about for a full day of shooting, having a spare battery or two is practically a necessity, particularly with a camera like the A6000 that may consume more power due to its compact size and advanced features. It's interesting to note that this isn't a unique challenge to mirrorless cameras; even DSLRs like your Sony Alpha 100 can require extra batteries for a day-long excursion.
      Managing battery life effectively becomes part of the routine for photographers who are serious about their craft, especially when shooting on location or during extended sessions. Carrying spare batteries, investing in portable chargers, or even exploring power-saving settings can all help mitigate this challenge to ensure uninterrupted shooting experiences.
      Thanks for sharing your insight-it's a valuable reminder of the practical considerations that come with using different types of cameras, and it adds depth to the conversation for anyone considering their next gear upgrade or planning their next photo adventure. Here's to many more years of capturing incredible moments with your A6000! Cheers!

    Just got back from our first-ever trip to Kauai. Finally forced myself to get out my used A6000. Could not be happier with the results. Some of the sunrise/sunset photos looked fake they had so much energy and vividness. No post-shoot software. Everything I have in my album is what I shot on the trip.
    Loved the quality of the photos and the ease of use. Difficult part was getting used to the movie mode. That is new to me. But I dived in with no regrets after it was over.
    One question. I got it that you shot this video for YT on the A6000. But what did you record the audio with? If I use my camera for blogging do I need an external mic? Your audio was great.
    I have not scratched the surface of the features of my cameras. But when you make yourself learn with trips like this there is the learning curve but I really had fun and that is what it is all about.
    Looking forward to a reply on the audio question.

    Hey man, very good video with solid info. Thank you. I plan to get this body second hand. Upgrading from a Nikon D3400. There are some differences from the D3400, but not that much, and you may wonder why I do the upgrade... I don't have the budget for anything more than this at the moment and I really want to get into the Sony e-mount lens ecosystem. I want to know, if I get a lens, I'll be able to use it at the next body upgrade as well. At least till I go full frame. Btw, what do think about this setup: The Sony a6000, Sigma 18-50mm (full frame equivalent: 27-75mm) f2.8 and the Sigma 16mm (full frame equivalent: 24mm) f1.4? Watched a lot of reviews and everyone says that they are both very good solid lenses. Professionally speaking, at the moment, I do events and portraits photography, so that's why I also want that 16mm. To have a lens with f1.4 with a friendly budget for low lighting environments. I actually found some good second hand deals. And, for my personal enjoyment I'm into almost any type of photography, car, portraits, landscape, sport, etc.

      Sorry, but someone said I should consider buying 7d
      Is it any better than 60d?

      @@mamaadura9831 still a DSLR, the a6000 has all the benefits of Mirrorless cameras (RUclips and Google have great explanations of the benefits) so I'd still pick it! Also, for a lens I'd look into something with an aperture that'll open wide for good background blur. The sigma 30mm f1.4 sold like hotcakes for e-mount and you should be able to find one used for a decent price! Best of luck

    Have you figured out the best solution for audio??

    • @KarlWeinreich
      @KarlWeinreich  7 месяцев назад +2

      There are some good options for audio. But I do have a video specifically about fixing bad audio here: Make Any Mic Sound Amazing: Adobe's Cutting-Edge AI Speech Enhancement 🤯

      Thank you, I was just curious I use the a7iii more but the a6000 still such a cool camera just to have laying around

    • @KarlWeinreich
      @KarlWeinreich  7 месяцев назад +1

      Totally agree, The a7III is a amazing camera and is in that same class as the a6000 now. You can find them cheaper and still get a lot of life out of it.

    It is good for product photography like clothes ?

    • @KarlWeinreich
      @KarlWeinreich  9 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah, absolutely. You will mostly be relying on good lenses and lights for clothes photography. The 24MP sensor will give you great photos. Maybe use a tripod if you are shooting at lower shutter speeds due to lighting or if you aren’t shooting with steady-shot lens. Thanks for the comment, cheers!

    Is this camera capable for wildlife photography?

    • @KarlWeinreich
      @KarlWeinreich  11 месяцев назад +1

      Hey thanks for the comment 🙏 Yes you absolutely can as it has a faster then most FPS. The lenses are really going to be the thing I would invest in. A 70-200 will give you great reach on the aps-c sensor. Hope that helps! Cheers!

    hi, is it wifi capable?

    • @KarlWeinreich
      @KarlWeinreich  11 месяцев назад +2

      YEP!
      The Sony a6000 is WI-FI enabled and allow direct connection from camera to smartphone. Simply enable the camera to become a WIFI hotspot, and use Sony's “Play Memories” app, and you can directly transfer, even without a nearby WIFI network.
      Thanks for the comment, Cheers!

      @KarlWeinreich  7 месяцев назад +2

      I have never used the M6 but I am sure you couldn't go wrong with either. It comes down to lenses for me. You just have way more options for the Sony E-Mount. Thanks for the comment, Cheers!

    which lens is the best/sharpest with a6000?

    • @KarlWeinreich
      @KarlWeinreich  5 месяцев назад +2

      That is tough to say. If budget isn't a thing I would say any of the GM lenses will be the sharpest and as they are a native mount, they will also have great auto focus and be fast. But if you are looking for a do all sharp lens then the 18-105 Sony G APS-C lens is great!
