This song was actually written about one of my old Sunday School teachers. Her family had several meet and greets with the band and they got to know them personally. Her daughter had cancer during all this and then later passed away. My teacher said CC would regularly call or text her saying that the family was in their prayers. After the daughter suddenly passed Casting Crowns wrote the song for my teacher. It is still one of the most powerful worship songs out there. If your in a “storm”. The best thing you could ever do is praise Him. He is so good even when times are rough. ✝️
This song had just come out in 2006 just after my twn sister's cancer was diagnosed. This song got her through a lot of chemo treatments, healing from surgery and waiting on test results. When she passed away in 2010, I remembered how this song helped her and we played it at her memorial service. Now, it helps me to remember to praise God, even when the storm is raging.
There is a certain beauty found in devastating pain. You reach deep within your soul and find God where you didn't see him before.
I used to sing this song with my Bryan before he died. I wish I would have recorded it, just to have it. I have peace because I will see him again, one day.
I'm going through a pretty difficult medical diagnosis right now, and I needed to hear this! I will praise Him when He gives. I will praise Him when He takes away. I will praise Him when I understand. I will praise Him when I don't. I will praise Him when I'm angry. I will praise Him when I am at peace. He is who He is, no matter where I am.

My cousin and her husband had triplet boys and one of them passed away in his sleep when they were infants. This song was played at his funeral and my cousin and her husband both cried and had their hands up praising Him through their storm.

I love this song! I listened to it earlier while at work. I absolutely love Casting Crowns. I saw them twice in middle school back in 2003 and 2005. They were incredibly popular in Georgia when I lived there. The lead singer is a youth pastor of church near Atlanta.
This was played at my childhood friends’ funeral in 2018. She was the one that introduced me to Casting Crowns back in 2006.

I think this song really speaks to 2020 and 2021, it’s definitely a storm, But we still praise him through it, thanking him for all the lives saved and praying for all the souls who were taken away.
Casting Crowns is one of my favorite worship bands! Went to see them twice last year!

Check out some of their performances from large arenas and you will be transported there. They have years worth of music for you still to discover.

You need to listen to their song "Until The Whole World Hears". Also check another Christian band called Third Day. They got some really great songs. Two of my favorites are "Cry Out To Jesus" and "Soul On Fire".

There are a few videos featuring this song that pays tribute to the military - not sure with copyright if you could feature them but you should still watch them - I am sure you would appreciate them - they certainly give the song a different perspective and certainly revitalizes my appreciation for all soldiers who have sacrificed so much

Saw them in concert a few years ago. They are amazing.
They were just in my town a few nights ago doing a “drive in” concert. They set up outside. People drive up and roll down their windows and they do the concert while everyone is social distanced and in their own vehicles. It’s pretty cool.
I didn’t get to go but they’ve been doing them all over the last month or two.

Casting Crowns has always been one of my dads favorite bands so I grew up listening to all of their songs and this was a favorite song of ours.
