Alhamdulillah in my experience owning nissan/infiniti, they are more reliable than the toyota/lexus. Especially when you take good care of your Nissan's vehicle with service routine with good oil, good spare parts and so on , in sya Allah they are more-more reliable. 🙂👍
When I watch your reviews I'm always like, where and who did he grow up around cus you have this whole fast talkin business guy movie character vibe. You're funny, and good honest reviews. 👍🏾🙌🏾
I think I’ve seen Nissan is actually keeping the 5.6 for the next generation. Nobody is buying these for fuel economy lol! But for the price these definitely are slept on.
Fantastic review. You rejected all the other reviewers who mindlessly chanted the " wah-wah-old fashioned" mantra. Gud on You. You are da Best, keep up the gud wurk
My family is on our second armada. First was I believe an 08 but I can’t really remember, I was pretty young. What I can say is I loved riding in that as a passenger, in the back, and as a kid on a road trip the 3rd row went from perfect, able to lie down in it to cramped as I grew up. We mostly keep it folded down but if we wanna take a bunch of people somewhere like an hour or 2 away it is great if some of the people are smaller people/kids. The 2nd armada is still in our possession (we had both simultaneously for a period, it was pretty baller having both on our driveway. Neighbors definitely made comments!) and now I’m at the age where I drive it sometimes and can really appreciate everything about it. It is smooth, you really feel like king of the road. Sometimes I call it a gentle giant but if ur used to it, like how my brother whips it around, there is nothing gentle about this beast. It can be surprisingly agile in the right hands 😂 I will say the infotainment/climate control stuff is pretty stupid, they make some stuff more complicated than it needs to be, but overall it’s not a big deal. Our current armada has about 145k miles and while it has some creaks if u push on the doors or other spots, everything still feels solid nothing feels like it is going to break. It honestly drives like a new car. Leather steering wheel and cloth seats have held up well, leather is kinda shiny but whatever. The bose audio is amazing has a good base and gets very loud while still being clear. The only thing I’ve really thought would be worth replacing the armada with is the next Toyota Sequoia. You hit the nail on the head, the only real fault is the fuel economy. The tank is like 22 gallons I wanna say, and we will average like 15mpg. In winter we get like 12 it gets cold here. Despite the mpg I still love the engine and wish gas prices weren’t going crazy I’d wanna keep the armada forever and even consider another one. It’s crazy how much love the forerunner, sequoia, and land cruisers get but a lot of people sleep on the armada. People who know about it definitely respect it though, and the exterior design is so mean and aggressive it’s sick and looks good after all these years and changes. Ours has the rear door handles that are upper and vertical hinges and I think it was a mistake to move away from that. Overseas this car is sold as the Nissan patrol which is very popular, I saw a lot of them in dubai.
The fact the Sequoia starts at $50k and it’s had the same body since the 2008 model. I’d rather get the Armada but I just gotta see what Scotty Kilmer would say lmao.
fast fwd to 2024 , Got this in the Plat Reserve for 22k and its an absolute Joy to drive , the level of refinement is truly amazing , like you. said it is underrated , also like you mentioned it is on par to the Lexus LX570 and toyota Landcruiser with the fraction of the cost , i own a 2009 LE with 215k miles and still run strong , these Armadas have such an explosive power for its size , watching this Mada coming at you from the Rear view mirror is somerthing else lol . Great review sir
And I just had a 2020 Platinum Reserve delivered to my front door this morning. I've flown planes with fewer buttons. Love the size. Just need to source a good pushbar, exhuast, cold air intake, grille lights, and spots. Still not sure what the interior illumination package is outside of the regularly found lights in a vehicle.
Nissan makes some great engines. I have the VQ40 in the 2012 Pathfinder and it's plenty powerful. I cannot even imagine what putting your foot into this VQ56 must feel like.
We get the new model here in Middle East and it does come with the same V8. We also get a nismo version of the previous model with a 6.2L V8. We also get the patrol safari and the patrol super safaris. Those are the true modern classic gems. Absolutely love these full size old school Japanese suv.
I was almost on the verge of buying one of these, then the wife mentioned we should take it home during the test drive to see if it fits in the garage. That was the smartest move ever. It does not fit in our two car garage and we passed on the deal. It was a bit of a shame because it's an excellent SUV.

You and Savagegeese are the best reviewers. No fluff and actual common sense opinions. Most reviewers just pour compliments on the latest tech and complain about "old" technology or lack of electronics and screens. But you have a brain and you know what a good vehicle is when you see it. Thank you.
Whoa. Whoa. Whoa. NOTHING compares the Land Cruiser haha. But I do think that Armada is underrated. I'd cross-shop this with the Toyota Sequoia if I were in the market. I would be tough to leave Toyota though. And I'd need that 4X4 living up in the Mid-Atlantic haha.
Haha understandable but yea for the price and capabilities the Armada is high on my list for someone who wants a vehicle like this. It is awesome to watch these things off road in the middle east 😆
I actually like the styling and behemoth size of it, to be honest with you Kevin. Add a V12 with an additional 200 horsepower, you have a buyer here. Great review.

@@MeynMotorGroup yes thats true, but its more to do with the nissan patrol being an icon here and a status symbol. To be fair it does have a fair bit more of kit in it.
Yea I noticed the Patrol is a status symbol there. I'm surprised it isn't here but I think the problem here is the Armada is forgotten amongst most normal people unfortunately
Yea that's true they do but man the price of this thing is amazing and used it is even better like 35k will get you a well equipped 4x4 with low miles and a warranty. It's high on my list for sure
I’m no car expert or mechanic but Scotty Kilmer has not been kind to Nissan. For this reason I wouldn’t buy one. Nice vehicle nevertheless. Great review as always 👍👍👍
G'day Buddy it's weird having oneself called out in a vid! They're known as the Nissan Patrol Ti-L down here and whilst they are still a little bit more prone to roll over compared to other vehicle types it's less than the smaller SUV's like you said due to higher curb weight, where they tend to have more of an issue with roll over is during off roading if you're not careful of the angles you're encountering, the grey nomads as we call them here buy these as tow cars for their rectangle mobile shitters! otherwise known as caravans :)
Haha had to give you a shout my friend for all the amazing support you've showed me for nearly 2 years! And thanks again for the excellent insight yes I agree that off roading can be genuinely dangerous and one must watch their angles. I remember you told me about an event you were at where you got to compare 3 pick up trucks, I'm sure that was fun! Man campervans is the last thing we need in the states, these zombies are slow as it is 😆
@@MeynMotorGroup Yeah buddy the 3 utes were fun and upon retrospect although I said the Raptor Ranger was the best, realistically the Triton was the best and the one I'd actually buy due to the fabulous Super Select II 4WD system that it has which allows it to be driven on high traction surfaces which means in the wet you can slap it into 4WD high range whilst on the move at speeds upto 62MPH or 100KM/H
from the driver seat it looks straight outta 08. i just cant fathom spending 60k for something that looks so old. my opinion is probably to buy used cause u really arent losing out much
I hate the way it looks. Really considering buying one but IMO the rear of it looks horrible to me. Reminds me of a Beluga whales head. It is the main thing turning me off from buying one besides the fuel mileage. The main reason I am looking is the Tahoe and F250 diesel I have get horrible mileage.
@@MeynMotorGroup yeah. Hardly any1 knows (or cares)what most of all the buttons do on all the newer cars they just want to get to and from where they are going.
This thing is a PoS. Total gas guzzler. Inside looks like you’re in 2005. Turning radius is also awful. The backseats take forever to fold up and down. Prefer my Yukon Denali any day of the week.

Hey thanks again for stopping by my friend, yea these things are awesome for sure!
I bought mine about 6 weeks ago, and it’s awesome. The engine power is insane. Gas... another story, but well worth the additional stops at the pump.

Oh thank God 😆 yea fuel economy is not a reason for buying these things, but I assumed emissions would kill this thing off
If they decide to keep it, they’ve signed Toyota’s death certificate as they are legit killing production of their V8.
