The gargantuan Leviatahan is probably the safest leviathan to be around in the whole game. Just because it is so phenomenally large that it would likely never even notice you.
But then the waves and roars would kill you. The waves would be so massive from its movement they could from tsunamis, and roars could make earthquake like level vibrations
Too bad the game was ruined by it's story. I might've bought a nameless stranded explorer, but Keysha chatting on the mic when I'm a kilometer underwater next to a leviathan is... nah. No thanks.

I don’t understand the argument that nothing from below zero is scary. The creatures in below zero look amazing and in my opinion, better than the 1st.
@Bion I would say some creatures look better, but the overall execution of the game is disappointing. A good example is the Ice Worm. I would give the art designer a raise but fire the implementation guy, it is one of the coolest looking creatures in all of Subnautica and yet the scripted encounter with it is horrible. It simple throws you off the snowfox without even dealing any player damage, even though a 100ft animal just smashed it's pointy nose like a sword into you. It is merely a nuisance. And most fauna in Below Zero only have grabbing attacks like the Shadow Leviathan, Chelicerate and the Giant Squids. They give you a free zap module for the seatruck and with that every aggressive fauna becomes merely a nuisance again. There is literally 0 danger. At least in the original game you had Ghost Leviathan, Crab Squids and Sea Dragons (and even Warpers) that would counter such an approach.
I'm fairly certain it's movement is enough to change currents and create waves, being near it while it's moving like that would probably be devastating alone.

Reminds me of a theory I had for Below Zero, we’d be exploring some cavern or something and then get sent plummeting down by something, debris hitting the vehicle, something like that, and we’re knocked into a void-like area, we see…well whatever Leviathan would screw us up the most charging and right before it reaches us something yanks it back into the darkness followed by a roar a few moments later

The thing is that the gargantuan is unnaturally fast, to the point that you need a mini warp engine from the ancients installed on the cyclops in the original mod to scape that mofo.

I wish Simon still worked at the studio when these sounds were made. Not saying it was bad, but the sound design was LEAGUES ahead of its time in the first game compared to the second, especially the fear that it instilled. I still remember my first reaper leviathan from the first game and I'm not at all impressed in the second. Sure his tweet wasn't great but damn he was good at his job and I gotta pay respect where it's due.
