The part of Human Design that I find the most wild is the concept of determination. When I found out that I was a consecutive appetite type, I scoffed. There's no way it could be that easy, right? Just eat simple foods? What a load of hogwash!
Then I got to thinking about it. The sickest I have ever felt from eating was when I decided I needed to introduce more vegetables into my life. I would eat a giant salad every day for lunch. I work in a kitchen so I have access to many ingredients and I would load those things up with the good stuff. But those salads would almost put me in a coma. I would get sluggish and feel like I had eaten a bowl full of stones. At the time I just assumed that I had some sort of allergy or intolerance to something I was putting in those salads so I bailed on the idea after a few weeks, but looking back at this phase through the lens of Human Design has done more to convince me of the validity of the system than anything else.
As someone who has been overweight forever, I feel like I've finally figured out a fundamental truth about myself.

I have 1st colour determination and I've always been really drawn to wanting live as a raw fruitarian (for the most part) if I could. Now knowing Human Design it's interesting to see how this matches to the simplicity of 1st colour.
Something else that's funny (but all makes sense now) is I've always gotten myself mixed up with foods I enjoy in the moment but at the end of it my body feels like it needs to "balance itself" and there's much dissatisfaction until I have something of one ingredient like a fruit (apples mostly) especially then I feel okay. Truly goes to show that it really is the correct thing for me

Another informative video even if it is not my determination. Can't wait for taste determination!
I am a little clueless about how to associate my determination that is closed taste with my authority being a mental projector. Hopefully you touch on this as an example in the video 😊

When I discovered the meaning of my alternating determination I really started to actually live my design. I always suffered from skin conditions related to digestion 😢 I tried them all but there was always something wrong in the diet. To me it was like the missing piece of the puzzle 🧩.
I’m a reflector so I follow my fragmented activations, I don’t think too much, I just grab some good ingredients and dig in. I have touch cognition so as soon as the food feels good to the touch it’s going to be all right.

I relate to the busy brain part. I have three Lefts, One Right. Almost to your 4 Lefts. Splenic Projector. I just go by what sounds good to eat in the moment and get that. I love hamburgers and fastfood. I have consecutive appetite. I love eating in Restaurants. Several weeks ago I was making rice and fried eggs and that was really good. The idea of simple foods doesn't really sit well with me. Like there has to be a mistake. I don't mind simple foods occasionally. But to make it my main meal. I don't get it. Did you also had struggles with coming to terms with it?

Sam, as a Projector with an "open" determination, and with a left brain function, I suppose I'm a bit of an outlier to my eating frequency. I'm a 95% carnivore eater who eats once or twice a day. I follow my hunger and energy cues, as to when I will eat. Meat and fats are the most nutrient dense foods to eat. Plant-based foods puts the body on another type of fuel source, mainly for survival only. As carnivores, we understand that plants have natural toxins which affects the body long-term. In the Western world, food is abundant, but most are people are sick. As of late, it's mostly all plant based. Regardless, it's up the each and every person what they eat, whether HD helps or not.

Consecutive: one ingredient at a time. monomeals. eat when you’re hungry and something that whets your appetite. no mixing or blending is the most important part (think soups, salads). Eat when you’re hungry and something that whets your appetite one thing per meal.
Alternating: several single ingredients on the plate (monomeals) that you alternate between. example: take a fork of broccoli and finish chewing and swallowing that then take a fork of the potatoes finish chewing and swallowing that then another of the broccoli and another of the potatoes and so on. but the ingredients on the plate are still simple and monomeals. Eat when you’re hungry and things that whet your appetite.

Thank you for all your video's about Appetite consecutive. I'm a splenic quad left projector, like you.
If you should take me to the grocery for appetite consecutive food, like you said, what should we buy? I live in the Netherlands.

I'm not sure what your preferences are, but for myself I tend to buy these things a lot - eggs, butter, milk, apples, celery, grapes, a lot of steaks, roasting chickens, ground beef, bison, lamb and elk. Less frequently is a yogurt, cheese, tomato, goldenberries, raspberries, pecans, edamame, cannellini beans. I can use salt, garlic, olive oil, lemon juice and vinegar for almost all of my seasoning.

Mine is direct light, which I feel gets glossed over by most. Would you be up for a video on that?
So interesting to me because I’ve been like a chicken with its head cut off for years saying

I need to see what I'm eating

Huh I’m confused - are you saying as an emotional projector I can’t start eating according to my determination until I’m invited to? Just found out I’m a consecutive appetite and I’ve been eating as my not self for too long. I am ready to start eating correctly
