That’s really at the end of the day what makes different cuisines distinguishable. Same “base” layers prepared different ways.

      @@saveamerica2896 The only way you lose 5-10 pounds in a week is by losing water weight, which isn't real weight loss. Healthy, sustainable weight loss is no more than 2lbs per week, and even that can leave you feeling hungry, especially if you are also exercising. The trick is to just get used to the feeling and to know that there's nothing wrong with being hungry. As long as you're not starving or famished, it's okay to be a little hungry. Hope you are doing well and reaching your goals.

    I'm one of those people who never learned how to eat clean - and this is despite going to culinary school and having to take nutrition classes (unfortunately they were very lacking). I have decided in the last year that it's time to make a change and start making healthier choices when it comes to how I eat, problem is that I had no idea where to begin. Cutting processed foods sounds so simple in theory but when you've never known anything else, it immediately gets more complicated. I appreciate these recipes, they look both simple and delicious so I will try them out. I will take a look at that 6-week program as well.

    • @Greenhealthycooking
      @Greenhealthycooking  2 года назад +4

      I believe the food industry has sadly made it appear like eating clean and healthy is complicated when in reality it “can be” very simple. It obviously can also be very complicated if you make it that way but it absolutely can be easy and simple. The very first thing is to change your mindset and don’t see cooking like a “chore” which is what the processed food industry wants to make you believe. It’s such a horrible chore you’ll want to cut down on it as much as possible. That’s simply not true. Cooking can be an absolute joy once you learned to make delicious things that nourish your body. If you went to culinary school you know all that already though :)

      This is so true. I've had to change the way I eat because my doctor told me I have insulin resistance, and I don't want to end up having diabetes when it can be avoided. When I just eat normal food, stay away from junk and sugar and limit starchy simple carbs, it barely limited my options. I feel better and I hace more energy.

    • @Greenhealthycooking

      Everything shown in the video amounts to 1,630 calories for the day leaving 170 calories for unplanned extras such as a cappuccino with a friend, an extra fruit, a piece of chocolate someone offers you etc. This is not calorie-restricted at all. The majority of women are meant to be on a 1,800-calorie diet a day to maintain a healthy weight and if those 1,800 calories are nutritionally balanced you will not feel hungry or feel like you are dieting at all. I have eaten this way my whole entire life and I don’t feel I’m sacrificing anything. I enjoy my food, I eat until I feel full.

    • @paegglaresi3597
      @paegglaresi3597 2 года назад +1

      Well, what is the definition of a diet?
      Counting calories( as you do) and restricting your food."Allowing" an extra 160 calories for a piece of fruit or a capouccino is an eating disorder as eating disorders come.

    • @Greenhealthycooking
      @Greenhealthycooking  2 года назад +2

      @@paegglaresi3597 I don't count calories for myself but it's my job to calculate them for meal plans which people rely on in order NOT to have to count calories and to learn to eat healthy intuitively. I understand my content is not for you and I understand this video is triggering you in a way it's not intended. There is no perfect diet, only "the perfect diet for you". And "diet" here is not interpreted as restrictive eating but in the literal sense of "eating". My meal plans have helped thousands of people become healthier, reach a healthy weight, feel more energized and get rid of certain food-related illnesses so I will keep offering my help to everybody who benefits from it. If you believe you won't that is perfectly fine. I would never dream of convincing you.

    • @paegglaresi3597
      @paegglaresi3597 2 года назад +1

      I understand, that you feel very strongly about clean eating, and that is totally fine.
      I am sure that your kind of diet helps people to become/ stay lean and that many people rely on your advice.
      The only thing I was challenging was your claim, that you will never need a diet anymore.
      Because what you are offering is just that.
      It is a diet.If you keep to this diet, you will be slim, there is no denying that.
      But what you are keeping to is just that: a diet.
      So if you eat according to your plans, you will not " ever need a diet again" because you will be on a diet your entire life.
      That is all I am saying.

    I think if we started to realize that food really is not something to be enjoyed, but much rather something needed for energy, then we can become more open to eating healthier.
    It's very hard cause I LOVE food, but because I indulge in it. It's a "comfort" thing. I don't think of it as an energy source, just "food" for whenever I'm "hungry".
    I need to change my eating habits so that would include understanding, firstly, why and what nutrients are necessary to keep you energized. Also, to have that ability to cut that insatiable urge to just eat.

      Do you roast your sweet potatoes in the oven? How a sweet potato is prepared affects its glycemic index. "While boiling gives a low to medium GI value, roasting, baking, and frying all give high GI values." You should try boiling or microwaving your sweet potatoes. They won't give the big blood sugar spike that roasted sweet potatoes would give.

    I started eating whole foods naturally about a month ago. Realistically anything that is naturally created (taken from the ground or tree) you can eat. Any and all meats, and avoiding things that take time for humans to create like butter, bread, pasta soda etc... Stuff that isnt ready to eat. Sure, you dont have to be perfect. My god it works wonders. Im a big eater and as long as you find substitution for bread and pasta you can pig out without going over like 500 cals

    What about snacks? I would say what I eat between lunch and dinner always gets the best of me.

    • @Greenhealthycooking

      The better you plan your meals and eat balanced and "enough" during your main meals, the less anxious/hungry/you crave food in between meals. If you really can't help it fruit is always the best option.

    I love the meal ideas and I am sure it all tastes delicious but the portion sizes are unrealistic in my opinion. I would be starving an hour after each of these meals to be honest, especially if I tried to get a workout or an hour of yoga in as well 😅 one orange as a snack would hardly make a difference.
    I would add banana and seeds to the porridge and berries, maybe have nuts/crackers and cheese as a morning snack, add beans/chickpeas/meat to the quinoa at lunch, have yogurt and fruit as an afternoon snack or ricecakes with peanut butter and maybe this way I could get through the day until dinner and still eat healthy. Otherwise this would definitely not be enough for an active adult in my opinion. I want to eat healthy but not feel hungry all day.

    • @Greenhealthycooking
      @Greenhealthycooking  Год назад

      The photo as shown are 1,630 calories. Plenty for an adult who is not too active. If you exercise a lot you will want to add a few more calories but I don't recommend adding excessive seeds and nuts and nut butters into your diet because they are very high in fat and this plan in the photo already is at the upper limit of healthy fats.

    Clean eating can be delicious, obviously. Somehow, many people have the impression that it means a lot of dull salads and nothing else. Spices, healthy cooking oils, some coconut milk, a gravy or sauce made from scratch, they all dress up a meal easily and they're all still on the menu.

    Hi, i like all your food, but the meat, i think the red paprika got burnt, its got black unhealthy cover, try next time to mix up with some good oil first, than cover the chicken into it, it wont burn. cover with lid so it stay soft and juicy, not dry and black.

    Thanks for this video! I'm going to start with this exact way of eating showed in the video, because I'm 40 kgs overweight, emotional eater, and I need something extremely simple to start with.
    I have just one question. It's said in the video that one small sweet potato, but the picture/video shows some pieces of it on the plate. Are you supposed to eat the whole potato? If so, how much approximately in grams?
    Thanks!

    • @Greenhealthycooking
      @Greenhealthycooking  11 месяцев назад

      About 100-150g of sweet potato. I use a few pieces for presentation reasons. I'm using a small plate because a big plate wouldn't have fit in my photo shot, haha. But don't go crazy over sweet potato sizes. It really isn't that relevant. About as big as your fist.
