Even if we got a cartoon featuring the 1990 characters, and the majority of the 1991 characters (and, I’m aware this show is - rhyme unintended, technically irrelevant to G.I. Joe - as much as we loved the Transylvania Pet Shop cartoon), these two cartoons still don’t take away from how we never got *this* cartoon (especially when Joe fans never liked the new DiC cartoon that we got post-movie).
Damn the animation from those commercials was on point. Too bad the movie failed , else we would have gotten an 87-88 season. Some of the coolest characters which we never got to see on screen.
I think the issue was more that the new studio, DIC, was going to make a much cheaper show and Hasbro passed the license on to them because it cost them less.
This was awesome, I'd tried to do something like this myself recently but yours flows way better than mine did! Always been fascinated by the potential third Sunbow season and want to try a fan made episode at some point...
Go for it! The characters we need to see: 1987 Crazylegs Fast Draw Gung-Ho (the new ‘Marine dress blues’ version; still bald and retains the black moustache) Sneak Peek all 6 Battle Force 2000 members - Avalanche, Blaster, Blocker, Dodger, Knockdown and Maverick Big Boa battle armoured Cobra Commander (after he finally changed back from being turned into a snake) Croc Master Crystal Ball (has a black moustache) Raptor the Techno-Vipers the Sea Slugs (drivers of the Cobra Sea Rays) Zanzibar of the Dreadnoks (drives the Air Skiff) [has a black handlebar moustache] I’d want to see *two* versions, each, of these two 1987 characters - Outback (auburn hair and beard, and white short sleeved shirt, and his UK exclusive Tiger Force repaint - white hair and beard, and orange short sleeved shirt with tiger face) and Psyche-Out (yellow hair, neon green shirt, dark grey trousers and black boots, and, likewise, *his* UK exclusive Tiger Force repaint - brown hair, orange shirt with black tiger stripes, trousers are Royal blue, and white boots). 1988 Blizzard Budo Charbroil Hardball Hit & Run Lightfoot Muskrat Repeater Shockwave Spearhead the Astro-Vipers the Hydro-Vipers the Iron Grenadiers (the troops wearing black crested helmets with red face masks, in fact virtually *all* black) Road Pig the Toxo-Vipers Voltar Destro (the Iron Grenadiers version, with gold faceplate, and drives the Despoiler) the Ferrets (drivers of the Iron Grenadiers D.E.M.O.N.s) [Dual Elevating Multi-Ordnance Neutralisers] the Nullifiers (drivers of the Iron Grenadiers A.G.P.s) [Anti-Gravity Pods] as for Storm Shadow (the version wearing white all-in-one ninja outfit and hooded ninja mask, with dark grey camo), his defection to G.I. Joe was to do with the cancellation of the cartoon at this point (post-movie) I’d definitely want to see the Tiger Force versions of: Lifeline (yellow shirt with black tiger stripes, olive green trousers and brown boots) [made his debut in 1986, as the replacement character for 1983’s Doc] Roadblock (back to having merely a moustache, and, likewise, back in orange trousers, albeit now tiger striped) [moustache is black, and said character’s tall and slim, African-American and wears a dark green sleeveless shirt] Duke (sandy hair, dark green shirt with rolled up sleeves, beige trousers with black tiger stripes and grey boots) [he was made the leader of said team so as to rest fans assured that he *didn’t* die, in the movie; it was edited where he merely went into a coma, and, at the end, it was announced that he’d be finally coming out of it] Tripwire (brown outfit with yellow chest panel and black tiger stripes) although I’d prefer to see Roadblock and Duke sans helmets Us fans would still want to see those we saw in the movie - Chuckles, Falcon, Jinx, Law and Tunnel Rat; would you include the Renegades (Mercer, Red Dog and Taurus), and Cobra La (the Royal Guards, and the two individuals - Nemesis Enforcer and Golobulus)? If so, I’d have *two* colour schemes for Taurus - his mainline colour scheme (Caucasian, brown full beard, yellow short sleeved shirt and dark green trousers) and my alternate colour scheme, that I’ve made up for him - orange-brown, Asian, Arabic skin (you know he’s Turkish), black full beard, dark green short sleeved shirt and pale purple trousers (said character’s short and rotund). Obviously the version of Mercer would be the 1987 clean shaven Renegade (whose hair’s a flat-top mohawk). I’d want to see more of Jinx wearing her mask. Getting back to the new, battle armoured version of Cobra Commander, I’m aware the armour’s silver & neon blue, and, likewise, getting back to the new Marine dress blues version of Gung-Ho - interestingly, this version was available at the same time as (another character with a black moustache) 1986’s Leatherneck, who was the replacement character for the 1983 version of Gung-Ho (that version of Gung-Ho was a mere Marine). Really sorry for the length, but for what we got deprived of, post-movie (all the characters we could have seen, in Sunbow’s G.I. Joe cartoon, at that point). Before you respond to my behemoth of a comment, yes, I’m aware there are 1987 and 1988 characters missing / who I omitted (left out), but not including them was intentional, as I only included those two years’ characters (for the never made third season we’ll always regret was exactly that - never made) who, IMO, are the best.
It's such a little thing, but it always annoyed me in the season intros when you had Duke's voice and you had Flint or Hawk yelling "Yo Joe!" You started off with Duke- you started off right!
@@cheeseburger12 Thanks, I thought that Tiger Force clip fit perfectly in with the voice! None of the other ones I found really had a Duke clip I could use for that.
It’s unfortunate that no one can begin a crowdfunder to get one episode of a Sunbow-style G.I. Joe cartoon for 1988 characters, when I bet none of the old school artists are still around to take up the project, as much as we feel we need to see Blizzard, Hit and Run, Muskrat, Toxo-Vipers and Voltar, and the others who were to have had appearances post-movie (*these* characters not existing until the year after the movie was made).
Unfortunately it was never made, that’s why. The world will always be full of things that we regret never happened (like this potential third season never being made).
This RULES! Also forgot how hard the Sunbow-animated commercials went
What it should have been! Awesome job
Even if we got a cartoon featuring the 1990 characters, and the majority of the 1991 characters (and, I’m aware this show is - rhyme unintended, technically irrelevant to G.I. So wonderfull!!!,the shorts remastered of commercials inserted in this intro is exceptional ,the best job ever👏👏👏👏👏
Great work!
So many glimpses of the last new Joe toys I ever received. 💕

Awesome! Loving these!
Outstanding.
this is the later season material Sunbow and Hasbro denied us
Mostly Hasbro because they chose to switch to DIC.
@@joeconcepts5552 Yuck...
Nice job! Love it
Well Done!
Nice job
Excellent! Thank you for doing this.
Glad you enjoyed it!
AWESOME!!!
Awesome. I especially like some of the Joes not in any of the cartoons finally being included.
Beautiful!
This is a mash up of all the toy commercials together.... yeah...

The theme song that should have never been removed
Smart !
It's the season we deserved, but not the one we got. It really sucked when the animation went to DIC. 👎👎
I dont remember that intro
