Bristol Central is one of the most hotly contested seats at this general election and on Monday 1 July - just three days before election day - you will be able to hear from the candidates in person.
The event will be hosted by Bristol24/7 Editor, Martin Booth, and feature questions from Bristol24/7 readers as well as from those in the live audience.
All of the candidates standing in the new constituency have been invited to attend.

@@ericman4023 Good point, but the hustings was done well and Kellie-Jay used her opportunity in a measured way to get through to those who were listening. I didn't look for the livestream, it came up on RUclips. That would certainly be restricted to people with a close interest but perhaps the circulation is a bit wider than we think.

Thangam and Carla look absolutely terrified each time KJK opens her mouth and of course, Thangam doensn't bother to engage as her position is indefensible. It was the legal obligation of the organisers of the hustings to give KJK a platform. They illegally froze her out of the first hustings last week (I hope there will be legal consequences for this). So, thanks are not due.

Shame on whoever decided not to let KJK speak in the previous hustings and intimidated her with the police. She was honest, spoke clearly and with the truth, didn't take time away from anybody, didn't cause a scene whan the audience reacted to her ideas or was rude to the moderator (unlike others), challenged lies when necessary annnd looked like a total badass while at it 💥POW💥

The Reform guy, although he wasnt particularly charismatic, challenged the Covid narrative and typically wasn't well received because people have been so brainwashed.

Kellie-Jay Keen got the loudest applause from the many women (and probably men) watching this from home because we didn't know about it in time to get a ticket. No-platformed from one Hustings, refused to be Let To Speak at another, she did women and girls proud at this, exposing the absurdity and danger of gender ideology with every question. Shame on Thangam Debbonaire and Carla Denyer for not bothering to show at the other Hustings where KJK was prevented from speaking. Thangam proved Kellie's first point by proceeding to ignore her through the whole event (pointedly). Party of Women is the new political force.

I too thought it was excellent the way she described their abusive behaviours towards women.
It's telling that he starts with an almost apologetic, defensive tone to explain why ALL the candidates have been invited. There was a time that the would have been assumed. However the Party of Women have been no platformed at similar events. Whether you agree with people's views is not the issue. We should stand united to allow all views otherwise we are no longer a democracy.
With FPTP, we are not a democracy! But a two-party elective dictatorship. In 2019 the Tories' 80 seat majority was FPTP's reward for a minority 43.6% of the vote. We cannot have "representative democracy" without Proportional Representation, and a Single Transferable Vote to rank candidates in order of choice, in multi-member constituencies.
It’s telling that there are so many comments supporting KJK here, it seems to show who has the serious supporters that are taking the time and interest in politics to watch these hustings
With less than 200 votes, she ended up coming in last place.

Astonished there was no timkeeping countdown clock visible to candidates, 'ten seconds to go' bell / switch off microphone automatically after the allotted time.
Some candidates encroached on others' time and the moderators should control that, not rely on speakers to police their own time.

Gosh, the Chair allowed the Labour Candidate far more than the allotted 1 min per answer and didn't she drone on and on? Her bussed-in support clearly had a heads up for all the tickets too! She did love the sound of her own voice. I am honestly astonished at any women who completely ignore the legal and rational fears of their own sex. Of course, I doubt she will use many public loos or intimate nursing care or plays women rugby. She will have 'minders' (staff), wherever she goes, which I do not object to, per se. It is a dangerous occupation. But such wealthy people on the basic salary of £91,346plus a year (£125,000k if a minister or junior minister) with all related and unrelated and uncapped expenses paid for by the tax payer, including a full staff of sychophants and 'yes' people all paid for by the tax payer, and gold standard pensions, don't have to worry about such 'trivia' as fairness to women. The Labour party has a terrible history of misogyny to women. It is the only UK party which has never had a women leader. In Glasgow, the Labour Council and associated unions fought doggedly for 25 years (!) to stop women cleaners and other women employees getting the same wage as the men. I find myself as a woman politically homeless as the parties have all jumped on the woke bandwagon, taking all women straight to hell. I have droned (rather like that Labour traitor-to-her-sex) but I wish Kellie was standing in my constituency as she would have my vote. Thank God for you Kellie. Well done, sister suffragette! Check whether there is an SDP (Social Democratic Party) candidate standing in your constituency. SDP believe in protection of women's sex-based rights.
Great comment. It's these women who are throwing all other women's rights away with whom I'm especially frustrated and increasingly angry. They are the ones who should know better but they'd rather collect woke points and power trip instead. There is no PoW candidate in my constituency but a AHF sticker or two might find its way onto my ballot paper ...

He joked that as a gay man, he cant answer what a woman is, but clearly he recognises them as the sex he doesnt want to get naked with. So his sickly, virtue signalling 'if I want to know what someone's gender is, I will ASK them. And I will TRUST them' is disgustingly disengenous. First of all the lie that we can't tell people's sex, also not getting that someone's sex is a reality not an opinion and then suggesting that we should just believe men like Isla Bryant, Karen White, Katie Dolatowski when they tell us that they are actually women. I heard concerns about Somali women, windrush (a BBC fantasy), giving money to luvvies to promote diverse cultures, and lots about Palestinians and Israelis, but what I didn't hear about was what they would do for the Indigenous Bristolians who make up, for at least now, the majority.
