Hello again 💜 There are heavy hearts around the world right now and I hope this video is able to bring you a little comfort. I was originally going to make this video centered around school and academic anxiety but I felt compelled, with all that's going on, to create another general anxiety/panic help video. Please let me know if you'd like to see more content like this from me! Mental health is something very important to me so I really like making videos like this. These are all techniques I've learned and benefited from during my "journey" with anxiety.
Please note that I am NOT a mental health professional.
EFT, or emotional freedom technique, is an alternative treatment for physical pain and emotional distress. Though still being researched, EFT tapping has been used to treat people with anxiety and people with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
My first anxiety video: • ASMR for ANXIETY Relie...

P.S. sorry for all the stomach noise! I did my best to edit it out haha

And just like you my anxiety causes physical symptoms and then I become hypersensitive to those symptoms which causes me to have worse and worse symptoms which only fuels the fire. This is the only video that's been able to calm me down. It's so nice to know I'm not alone. Anxiety has a way of making you feel so alone and isolated. God bless all of us who fight this disease. - reciting the alphabet backwards (I have added the ASL signs to this exercise)
    - deep breathing/square (box) breathing
    - tensing and releasing one part of my body at a time to release tension
    - talking to someone I trust
    - going outside
    - listening to music
    - breathing into a paper bag
    - listening to asmr like this

I started crying ten secs into the video. I cannot thank you enough for this. I've been suffering from a severe anxiety disorder and panic attacks since I was 16. I started therapy long ago and I started to feel better and learnt to control my attacks whenever they appear. It seems it has gotten worse lately, I've been having a hard time and this week has been a nonstop rollercoaster of anxiety attacks, feeling like I can't breath and I'm about to pass out or have a heart attack at any moment. No matter how many times I've experienced it, I never get used to it and I enter this loop of anxiety-fear caused by it triggering even more anxiety, and it's honestly horrible and so draining. This is the very first video that truly made me feel understood and like I am not alone. I am so sorry for everyone who suffers from this and I just wanna say we're extremely strong for dealing with it. Remember it will pass every single time and we're not alone ❤ Thanks a lot again for this video, you have no idea how much you're helping 🫂

LOVE this video, very well timed. "the human brain is very weird" is a vibe lol
as a note for anyone else who finds deep breathing difficult: it can sometimes actually make anxiety worse! it definitely does for me sometimes, and I've had it trigger multiple panic attacks in a row before. afaik (I'm not a professional lol) it can increase sympathetic activation by stimulating blood flow/increasing heartrate. so for anyone who's been caught in that weird 'I'm deep breathing but it isn't working' or 'I feel worse when I deep breath' just know you're not alone! I appreciate the therapist who explained the process to me/helped me figure out alternatives/learn how to deep breathe more effectively a lot.

Hey, friends. I’m a trauma therapist so I actually work with a lot of people who struggle with breathing exercises. When I have my own panic attacks, I find that I have to take one deep breath, hold it as long as I possibly can, let it out slowly, and repeat as necessary. It stops me from hyperventilating, but this might not be the case for everyone. If you struggle with breathing exercises during anxiety/panic, try any other activity that brings you “into your body” like a complicated finger-tapping routine, lightly scratching your palms, visually imagining your heart beating more slowly, etc. Anything that provides your brain with evidence that you are in your body and it is the present. If you have trauma-related panic attacks, it can also be very helpful to do non-breathing activities that remind you that you’re in the present and not in the trauma. Things like slowly stating the date or acknowledging the present to separate ourselves from the trauma. E.g., “it is now June of 2023. I am 23 years old. I graduated last spring. I live in Toronto now. I have a loving partner at home that I will see later today. I am on my way to my yoga class.” That’s helped some of my clients, so maybe it will help you 🥰

I'm so thankful for this video. I've had anxiety for most of my life, and I'm 26 now. Breathing techniques were always recommended to me, but I suppose I never did them correctly, so I'd usually think they aren't working for me. However, I was experiencing a very bad panic attack after a possible night terror, and this video was the only thing that could calm me down! I now fully believe in breathing exercises, it just takes a few minutes to feel the effects. Your whispering voice and white voice help a lot, too. As my first ever comment on RUclips I'd like to thank you for this video, Sarah. Not only it helped me to calm down when I had a panic attack, but I felt better for the first time after breathing exercises! I never believed that it is a thing for me, but being assured that this will work gave me hope that I can beat those "anxiety waves". You have a really soothing voice for me too. Thank you so much!
And to anyone who might read this comment - you're stronger than anxiety. There are a lot of ways to deal with it and I wish you to find one's that'll work great for you! Please don't give up on trying them ❤

I can't begin to thank you enough. I was having the worst anxiety ever from a medication I'm on and i found this video and like 13:00 mins in i felt so much better and by the end of the video I'm feeling so relaxed and calm my anxiety is gone for now so ty. This is the 2nd video of yours that has helped me so much. I really appreciate you and what you do. There are only a few channels that can help my anxiety as fast as this did and they are softly galoshes, michael seely, asmr darling and well that's all of them. But you and softly galoshes are my top 2 favorites even though I'm quite new to your channel michael seely isn't asmr but he does hypnosis and meditation videos for anxiety depression ect and i must say atleast from my experience it really works. I'm sorry for rambling just wanted to say I'm so glad i found your channel and ty again.

I just had a rally strong reaction in my body when I got a text message, felt like wanting to throw up, curl myself up and just wanting it to pass. Tried walking in my Apartment (that helps sometimes) but it didn’t this time, so I layed on my bed, opened RUclips and typed “asmr anxiety attack” and yours was the first video that appeared. Already in the first minutes it felt like a friend talking to me.. The deep breathing felt not so good at first (I tend to have short breathing when I’m anxious so it felt like making it worse) but as you said to really do it long enough I trusted you and did it and it really helped.. normally I would have let my body win over my breathing but you really made me feel safe and open to fully trust you.. about 15 minutes later my body started to relax and I didn’t felt like throwing up anymore, so a huge THANK YOU for this video!

This was so powerful , thank you so much. I got an anxiety .. not attack, but a rush almost, after having my mother attack me. Even being in my late 20s, and living independently in a different country, I still can't fully shrug off her attacks whenever she decides to blame me for her problems with her mother, not feeling loved or safe getting old. So I'm always on the search fro calming, self-soothing and self-affirming practices, and this video has been one of the best!! Thank you for you dedication and work, this really really helped me bring myself together. Will definitely be coming back 🙏

My study is starting again, and I've been spending the past month worrying about it in the back of my mind. Today, that caught up to me because I had to actually start studying and I just couldn't. I feel so understood by your videos, you've really helped me understand how much of my anxiety is related to academic performance.
The reminder of "Anxiety is powerful, but you are much more powerful, and it will pass," finally broke me, I haven't cried actual tears in a good while, but my hands even got all wet this time, haha

This genuinely helped me so much, because like you I get physical symptoms from my anxiety (that doesn’t help my case for the whole “allergic reaction” thing lol) When you talked about your experience and how I was valid, I started sobbing.
