      Thank you, any tips for adjusted throttle response delay? I’ve reset the settings, and went with level 7 punch which really helps the throttle response.

    Great video, you got a new subscriber. I was hoping to brick the stock electronics in my Xmaxx a lot faster, but they still work fine. The only thing that really bugs me is the pinion coming loose, despite regular cleaning and applying locktite. I might get the Max6 combo when the weather clears up in spring anyway, it seems to have more punch than the stock setup.

    • @redbanditracing
      @redbanditracing  7 дней назад +1

      Do you have last years xmaxx? This version has the E-Clip to help hold the pinion on. Thanks for the sub

    I do the same to most of my Traxxas cars. Hobbywing ESC AND stock motor. You can usually gear up a few teeth and still have the same motor heat as stock due to the efficiency of the power it now has

    • @redbanditracing
      @redbanditracing  11 дней назад +1

      I’ve noticed that also, eventually I’ll try a bigger motor from HobbyWing. But tue stock motor does very well. Adding too big a motor causing to many issues, I’m more in it for like you said the efficiency.

    I would shut off the turbo timing, thats more for speed runs and will blow out your diffs really quick. As for delay just throttle trim up a bit, seems like all hobby wing Escs have that for some reason. I think it’s to protect the gears or something.

    • @redbanditracing
      @redbanditracing  9 дней назад

      Definitely try that, thank you

    Set the lipo cells to 8s. It helps with low voltage protection.

    When I put a max 6 combo in a k6s with the 15t pinion I thought it was weak and slow . Until I dropped a 20t in there I found its a powerhouse but not really that much different than the stock stuff .

    • @redbanditracing
      @redbanditracing  11 дней назад

      The Max6 on level 6 punch is not bad, I need to put it on level 7 and put everything else back to stock settings. I just need the throttle to be there to correct it in the air. Otherwise it’s definitely a better ESC.

    What gearing are you running?

    • @redbanditracing
      @redbanditracing  11 дней назад +7

      20/46 which is fine, maybe it’s the punch that’s gotta go up

    Why the program box don't they come with Bluetooth built in? Mine did a few weeks ago

      We didn’t know at the time, but yes they are both BT. There is a port it looks like on the Max8.

  • @jeffwhitelock1013

    I dont think the turbo timing works with a uncensored motor. It has to be a sensored motor for turbo. Punch works. The turbo delay just delays full trigger from kicking in when at full throttle

    • @redbanditracing
      @redbanditracing  10 дней назад

      I believe you’re right, I wouldn’t mess with that anyways. It ramps up the motor RPM maybe if I switch to a bigger motor.

    Same ESC, what are the best settings in the parameters to remove the throttle delay?

    • @jagergerg9771
      @jagergerg9771 9 дней назад

      Just set your throttle trim up a bit, seems like all Hobbywing esc do that. It pisses me off.

    I’ve heard the Traxxas batteries are bad for hobbywing since they don’t give enough c like 20c

    • @redbanditracing
      @redbanditracing  10 дней назад +1

      The only thing I can see damaging the ESC is too much power, not too little.

      Too soon to tell, need more time. X-MAXX has its own issues and we’re still seeing what it needs to be durable. The SLEDGE so far is the most durable basher.

    Any cogging? Mine cogs at very low speeds for a slight second. When giving it higher throttle from the go it does not do it… just low throttle

    • @Curly21029
      @Curly21029 11 дней назад +1

      Adjust initial throttle force. It’s there to prevent cogging at low speeds.

    • @redbanditracing
      @redbanditracing  11 дней назад

      I haven’t had any cogging issues, make sure the firmware is updated.

      @@redbanditracing great advice! I like my Hobbywing escs, but they’ve definitely gone through their share of funky firmware. My Max 5 in my Kraton 8S had massive throttle delay before updating the firmware

    I thought I heard the stock receiver won’t handle over 6volt bec … have you had any issues

    • @redbanditracing
      @redbanditracing  11 дней назад +1

      I actually had to do some research on this before we did it. The stock receiver can handle up to 7.4v, no issues so far.

    • @TBHLuCiFeR
      @TBHLuCiFeR 8 дней назад +1

      @@redbanditracing where did you find that infomation??. I've looked for it myself, but can't find a definitive answer.
      I also asked Traxxas but they only said max 6V. probably to cover their asses :).
      because if it could handle 7.4V without any problems why wouldn't they just change the receiver's spec. but if it only reduces its lifespan a little then I would rather use 7.4V :)

    • @redbanditracing
      @redbanditracing  8 дней назад

      Amain hobbies tech support, the receiver can handle it. Traxxas probably doesn’t want you buying a aftermarket ESC in order to increase the BEC
