  • I build this #sandblaster out of the regular air compressor blower gun and plastic water bottle. Then use it for #sandblasting my Yamaha #DT175 cylinder with fantastic result. This is part of the series of videos about my Yamaha DT175 bike build. Thank you very much for watching and I hope that you subscribe to my channel. #diysandblasting

    This is the best vid yet for what I'd like to achieve to my motorcycle engine. Don't want to sand and polish the engine, but want it to look like the original sand casting. Very good vid. Thanks for showing us!

    I applaud the effort, it worked quite well (for what you were doing) and that's what counts.
    For sandblasting you need to sieve the sand to make sure you dont get big grains.
    The air line also needs a pretty sizeable dehumidifier (not a small one), or the sand will clog up such as what happened here, a canister with dehumidifier pellets should be more than enough for what you're doing.

      yes you are right. it is just a one-off job for me at that time so did not feel the need to buy equipment. The air supply I was using do not have any air dyer at all

    Can I use Glass powder with this method,?? To pulish aluminum bike parts?

    • @DIYPhil
      @DIYPhil  9 месяцев назад

      I think you can. Because they actually sell glass beads for use in sand blasting. Just be careful not to inhale the dust.

      5 hp na shop air compressor kasi gamit ko dyan eh. naka sagad sa 100 psi yata yun. pwede din maliit na compressor kaso lagi ka hihinto at mag antay mapuno yung tanke.

    do NOT use building sand. Use silica sand. Silica sand is basically glass that's been ground fine and killin dried. Building sand is basically sand from rivers and is part clay and each bit is double the size of silica sand Silica sand is used for block paving joints and isn't expensive. You get it from any builders merchants. Same size bags as building sand.
