    If you’re more curious about really caring for and trying to restore some white shirts you should absolutely check out Rajiv Surendras video on washing whites. Not at all someone in the heritage community, but I swear that video was absolutely eye opening for me and a complete game changer. My white shirts stay so bright these days.

    Return to the T-shirt vids and I love it. It’s what first found me the channel!
    Anyway I was on the precipice of pulling the trigger on a tezomeya and I’m straight shook now, really concerned about that dye fading. Thanks for the info and reviews. More to think about.

      Haha thanks mate. I wouldn't let it put you off tbh. It seems I'm an isolated case and I can't recall how i first washed it. So it could be my error with temps etc. It's still a lovely soft shirt! Thanks for watching :)

    I finally pulled the trigger and ordered a un-dyed Tezomeya. Once I had a T-shirt from Go Hemp, another interesting Japanese brand, that had this kind of artisanal, hippie feel to it. It was not loop-wheeled or anything, but was very soft and comfy. And it was 55% hemp, 45% organic cotton. Anyway, looking forward to my Tezo to arrive. They said it takes about a month!

    Nice review Cameron. Anything with natural dye, its good to add a bit of vinegar + salt when you wash it as it will helps retain the colour. Between, how is your SDA Fox Cotton tee going? I absolutely love mine but I haven't wear and wash mine much.

    Great video as usual Cam, what would you recommend in this type of quality T with a slightly shorter sleeve, I really don't like the long loose sleeves that come more then halfway down the arm (UES), I have to show off the guns 🙂 , but its very hard to see online where the sleeve hits.- I have a TANUKI HEAVY SHINKAI T-SHIRT on the way from RedCast so I am hoping it fits as it looks.

    Interesting how your Tezomeya has faded. I have the same t-shirt, same colour from them and have washed it easily about 20-30 times so far (30 degrees, minimum spin). It has only faded unevenly around the inside of the collar but the rest looks like pretty uniform fading.

    I'll just tack this on since i have a few Gustin shirts myself, their Skinny Tee's aren't too durable, i have a bunch and half of them have holes on them after like a month of wear, especially where the pocket tee is sewn own, however I do really love their Heavyweight Tees, absolute better shaping and form, but so run a bit small so size up

  • @alanward4671
    @alanward4671 Год назад +1

    The only thing stopping me buying Tezomeya is the size - the largest they do would just be too snug on me. I have no issues with how yours has faded, I really like it! Can you tell me if the 3sixteen is a Large? A bit more snug than I expected. And have you tried the Dubbleworks heavy fabric pigment-dyed tee? It looks amazing but unfortunately I have vastly exceeded my t-shirt budget so it'll have to wait.

      @nss68 Год назад

      @@garyv1483 I washed them normally -- inside out and using persil detergent. I have since switched to a more natural detergent without optical brighteners and stuff, but neither have caused issues -- however, the green tezomeya shirt I have does have 1 spot where the color is light, I assumed I dripped a drop of an acidic beer or something on my chest but it could just be that one tiny spot losing dye faster than the rest. The company is awesome, though. They're so small and the fabric is incredible. The natural cotton colored shirt is one of my favorite shirts ever. It's heavy and fits SO well!

    Absolutely love the idea of a long term update for shirts!
    Another Tezomeya datapoint - Like @sendmeavision below, so far I haven't had any weird fading on mine (though currently with a relatively low number of washes).
    Question for you (and/or other viewers) - I picked up a few various loopwheel shirts when I was recently in Japan, but none have had the same crazy soft and slubby feel as Tezomeya, so I wondered if it was because of the fox fibre fabric. I couldn't find any Studio D'Artisan fox fibre shirts in person to compare.
    Having both Tezomeya and Studio D'Artisan fox fibre shirts, would you say that feel is likely due to the fox fibre fabric? Would you say any of your other shirts have a similar feel?

    • @garyv1483

      Tezo uses fox fibre? I thought it was just organic cotton.

    • @nss68
      @nss68 Год назад

      Fox fibre is more about the natural color variances than softness -- but it's a very dry texture typical of shorter staple cottons from what I've seen, although I haven't felt one broken in.

      If you wash clothing with a little “ Oxi Clean versatile powder” your clothing will never bleed even if you drop something like a hot pink sock in your white laundry load. It will also slightly remove accidental “pink” color transfer from a wash mix up accident if you wash right away. I always toss a little in my laundry especially in my loads that have multicolor with white so there’s no stress wondering is it or isn’t it going to bleed. It’s a life saver.

Really like the Folk ones I've had as well as a Moss one I got in ecru. I occasionally buy second hand like a studio dartisan, merz b, real McCoy's and a Sunspel but even they I haven't spent more than 30. I'm too likely to ruin a t shirt to spend much
