ONLY HEARING ONE TRACK?
You have to take it into an advanced editing application to see all the tracks. If you are just playing the recording with a media player you can only listen to one track at a time, it's like how movies have different audio tracks for different languages. Edit it in your editing app the way you desire and then when you render the video all the sound will be on track 1 again for you to hear and upload or use the way you want.
Multiple videos ruined because I recorded both audio tracks together & can't separate them... You're a legend, thank you for the in-depth tutorial.
You're welcome!
How did you do it
I feel this in my soul. Felt man, and LETS FUCKING GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
i did all in the setting but my mice is never beeing recorder its not even mute and when i put it in my movavi i only have 1 track
This video better explained it than some 200,000 views videos were explaining it.
One of the keys of it being being better for me is how you actually showed it working by putting it into an editor
I'm glad I was able to explain it in practice
I appreciate how straightforward this was. Clear an to the point
Glad to help!
I was so confused about OBS that I didn’t know it could be used for anything else than streaming, making my life much easier with this tutorial!
Glad to hear that 😊
This was the clearest video ever. Thanks for explaining! Lots of other OBS setup videos just skim over how the tracks work. I like that your showed the video file and how the tracks are separated when the settings are right. Thanks so much!
Awesome, thank you!
Thanks for this. I want to edit out any coughing or other accidental noises that happen while I'm recording and having the tracks seperate will make that easy without interrupting the gameplay.
That's a great idea and perfect to do this so you can clean your audio
thank you so much for finally being the one to be able to explain this from the hundreds of videos i got on them telling me the same thing over again about how to make different audio tracks only for obs
Glad I could help!
Thank you so much, i was looking for hours and youre the only one that explained it easy and logical ❤
Glad to help you 🙂
Thank you so much for making this video, you have no idea how many videos I've thrown away or taken down because of this issue. So surprised that more people haven't seen this.
Glad it helped!
bro ur an absolute legend I have been looking around for so long and looking at tutorials but none of them solved the problem thanks man finally now my recordings won't be a complete mess
This is perfect because aside from you have absolute control of the volumes in the video editing.. we can also process our voices in audacity to make it sound better
Exactly, it makes everything much easier
omg how did i not think of this for the longest time, so many videos could have been saved if i had just looked this up sooner, thanks for making this video! my future videos will have perfect audio!!
Well at least you know now
@@ConCon right!? thank you so much!!
THANK YOU I WAS LOOKING EVERYWHERE STARTING TO THINK I WOULD NEVER FIND A FIX!
Glad I could help
Thank you, even two years later this tutorial is WAY better than other ones. Much love bro 🔥
Glad it helped
Thank you so much, this definitely helped. Very straight forward and love that you even put it into practice to further explain.
Awesome, glad I could help explain
Great explanation and very useful information, thank you!
Glad to help
Thank you very much, you saved me hours of editing!
Glad I could help
I was digging quite a bit for this and this is exactly what i needed. thank you beyond belief
Glad I could help!
Defenitely one of the better descriptions I have found, amazing work!
Wow, thank you!
you saved me a lot of time thank you so much
Glad I could help!
Guys please keep in mind that windows media player doesn't play 2 different audio lines at the same time. However if you load it into your editing software you have the seperate lines, but mediaplayer does only play one audio line mic or desktop. So therefore a solution will be to add 3 lines, one combined one that can be deleted afterwards and is just to replay with mediaplayer. and two seperate ones!
This is true
will this impact file size
Thanks you! There are tons of other videos that over-complicate it and you were the only one that actually explained what I wanted! Lifesaver! Also, for anyone wondering, it works in Davinci Resolve.
You're welcome!
Thank you for this well explained video, this helped answer my question I was trying to find regarding tracks. You Rock! Keep up the good work!
Glad to help you :)
Thank you so much! I could not figure out why my audio was not functioning properly.
Glad I could help you
Say you're in a gaming session with friends, and you're using discord to voice call, how would you record your audio and your friends' audio in separate tracks? Would your friends' voices just be part of the desktop track, or can you separate the friend commentary from the desktop audio?
I haven't figured out a way to split discord from desktop audio. That would be great though.
This works great for this exact scenario: ruclips.net/video/aOrAsQgJvtQ/видео.html
even two years later you are helping people, thank you!! you gained a sub :D
Glad I could help!
OMG!! You're a lifesaver. I've been struggling with volume stuff on my podcast for over 2 years! lol I wish I saw this video sooner
Glad I could help!
Okay so the problem I’m having When I record just the desktop audio/ vice versa it only picks up either or. When I try to record both at the same time only 1 pics up the sound. If that makes sense I’m not sure how to fix it. My mic is 1 and desktop 2
Did you do this 0:50
Also does your video editing programs show all the audio channels like premiere pro does? If not then it might only use the first audio channel only
Also if you try play the recording on the computer it will only make sound for the first audio and not all of them. You have to edit and save the video first to merge the audio tracks.
Hey man, were you able to figure this out. Struggling w the same problem rn
how did u fix???? pls help me :))
@@imortalkko it turned out OBS recorded both audios, I just had to enable that from my editing software otherwise I would not hear my computer audio
I do the same but still it doesnt work for me is it because i use filmora X?
Maybe so, the application needs to be able to edit multiple audio tracks
thank you so much, 2 years later your video is still helping people all around the world, you explained it so well, now i can finally make videos!
Glad I could help!
Thank you so much for this explanation, I've been trying to figure out how to do this for a while and finally came across this. You helped, A LOT!! Thank you, so damn much again man. I needed this!
Aweosme, glad to help you with it
I've been trying this for hours watching every tutorial on this but OBS just WON'T record my computer audio when I do this! I try moving the recording to an editing software and it only has my recorded audio of my voice, none of the computer audio!! I go into the actual recording and listen to it and it's the EXACT same thing, it only records my voice!!! I don't *GET* what's going wrong!
Please if ANYONE has ANYTHING for me to try then tell me. I'd greatly appreciate it.
Do you have these both checked off 0:59 ?
@@ConCon ..yes. I've really dont everything. I think it's just something with my computer..?
@@Gratey Hey, currently have the same problem. Were you able to solve by chance?
@@vrdnyn Nope, sorry... 😔
@@Gratey I was actually able to find a solution on my end, not sure how helpful it'll be for you (note: I use Final Cut but it might still be applicable). Basically, I needed to open the inspector screen so and had to manually select the other audio tracks. They were there but wouldn't appear automatically when I dragged them into the editor. Once I selected both audio tracks from the inspector, I could now drag them all and I had access to every single audio track that OBS recorded. Hope I could help :)
No other video helped me understand the process like this one truly a masterpiece. Thank you so much for the help.
You're very welcome!
Wow. You make sense. Finally got it. Will try it. Been beating my brain in trying to figure it out. You made it look easy. Appreciate it
You're welcome!

Thank you so much, I've been over thinking and panicking trying to figure out if I needed to use audacity as well to say: mute myself in certain sections of the video while keeping gameplay audio. I'm glad I can just do it through OBS.
You're very welcome!
@@ConCon Can I ask for advice, ive been at trying to learn to record gameplay/audio and learning how to edit it all. Are there any videos that you've made that would help me. Sorry if im bothering you, I just want to be good enough for myself and anyone watching my videos.
You're awesome! I've got a podcast to record, and I want to make sure that my audio and the other person's are separate so I can do independent volume control. Thanks so much!
Glad I could help you with it, good luck I hope it goes well!
Thanks Man 👍🏻
It helps a lot
No problem 👍
Thank you so much straightforward and no time wasted!
You're welcome
@@ConCon I was so worried I messed something up because the default windows media player I use only plays the first track so I was a bit confused at to why only 1 sound was working xd
