This is very nice! Personally, I wouldn't attach a pom pom on mine, but that's just my personal preference. Question- can this hat be made with half double crochet instead of double crochet? 🙂
Yes you could try half double crochets instead, although you may have to adjust stitch count? HDC stitches are shorter than a DC stitches so you might need some extra increases to make the crown of the hat bigger. You will also have to add more row at the end for more length.
