      It is simple math:
      Rnd 1: 8 sts
      Rnd 2: increase every st, 8x2= 16 sts
      Rnd 3: increase every other st, 8 x 3= 24
      Rnd 4: increase every other st, 24 + 12 = 36 sts
      Rnd 5: increase every 4th st, 36 + 9= 45
      Rnd 6: decrease by 1 st, 45-1= 44
      Then you don’t increase or decrease for the rest of the hat.
      Also, I do show how to end each round, so I’m unsure how else to assist you there. Hope this helps

    Stitch count at the end of each round. Round one, 8. Round two, 16. Round three, 24. Round four, 36. In order to have 45 stitches at the end of Round five, start Round 5 in the stitch next to where you joined, not in the same place as the join. ALSO, start Round Fivw with 1 sc in the back loop only for 3 stitces then 2 single crochet back loop only in the next stitch. That is the repeat for Round Five (1 sc blo in next 3 stitches and 2 sc blo in 1 stitch) this will give you 45 stitches at the end of Round 5. Then start Round 6 by skipping the first stitch to have 44 stitches at the end of Round 6. It took me over an hour to figure this out and several times frogging my yarn. I hope this helps somene.

    I’ve tried starting over 4 different times, and have finally just given up after wasting so much time trying to follow along. Starting each round completely differently, sometimes starting in the same stitch we joined in, sometimes skipping a stitch, sometimes the chain 2 doesn’t count as a stitch. This is a lovely pattern, and I wish I could have made it work, but this is by no means “easy” if you’re just starting out and learning what all of these different techniques mean, and how they affect the next round.

    • @DaysCrochet
      @DaysCrochet  2 года назад +1

      I’m sorry you had so much trouble. This is not a beginner-friendly pattern, but once you get the hang of crocheting, it is very easy I promise. As you become more advanced, maybe revisit the pattern. I also have written patterns for all of my designs in Etsy and Ravelry if that’s more helpful to you as a beginner. Best of luck to you.

    I have never gone a quarter of the way into a tutorial to have the poster say "check your gauge, if its not the same as mine, tear it all up and start over". Im struggling already because the friend Im making this for likes black and red, and black is really really hard to see the stitches even with my cheaters on lol, then for some reason the black/gray yarn (wool ease super heavy same as yours) is EXTRA fuzzy making those stitches just vanish lol. Im about to just give it up and pick a different tutorial. This says 'easy' .. if I was brand new, Id have given up in round two.
