Hey everyone! The album playing is Cargo, a self titled prog record on Harvest from 1972. Check out my friends channel if you like what I do! Yesterdays Trips: youtube.com/@YesterdaysTrips?si=lmbg3pMUT6YG5VHB Cargo: ruclips.net/video/0wOFT5aiJ0c/видео.htmlsi=PGOa94T73XaoU1lB Also sill very confused on the Five Americans album. If anyone has info on that pressing let me know. Thank you!
Nice finds. Glad you can still get stuff in the wild for cheap. I remember building my classic rock collection in the 90's when everyone was replacing their records with CDs. Rolling Stones, Beatles, Zep all hanging out in dollar bins.
Thank you! I wish I were able to get a whole bunch of classic rock titles and obscure stuff for cheap in the 90s. I still definitely get lucky sometimes. I can't imagine the obscure albums just sitting in cheap bins because there was no way of looking them up on the internet. Thanks for watching! ✌️
That's by far the best JJ Cale LP ! I bought that one on release and used to spin it a lot in the late 1970's ! I'll be back in the Caribbean in a couple of weeks, and I'm sure that I will be running into some good reggae and local music. I used to manage a French restaurant and I would play "In The Wee Small Hours" nightly on rotation with other Cd's in a 5 disc changer.. Miles was always in there as well. Great finds.. Again ! Cool !!! 👍 Canned Heat ! Wow !
@sorinvinyl1523 I hope to stop in and film a shop in Nassau, Bahamas.. Yeah, I dig Sinatra and Miles ! When I was 20 , my Dad had me come down to Caesars Palace ( 1977 ) Mr. Sinatra was sold out, but my father had a lot of pull in Vegas, so him and I witnessed a great performance that night.. Wow !
Nice start to your collection. I have several of then I'm my collection. I got to see Peter Tosh with Jimmy Cliff as opener. The ticket were given to us the afternoon of the show. The girl won them and had no clue who the were. Jim
I would take the shrink off of that one.. The cover is gonna be bitchin' on it's own ! Nice crystal clear outer might be in order as well ! I dig how you are into all of my gen music.. Early 1970's !
@sorinvinyl1523 I get it how you like the shrink on most of your records. It's all personal preference anyway. When shrink is kind of shabby I tend to peel it off, leaving a beautiful jacket !
Great finds there! Cannot believe Blonde on Blonde for $1! Especially when the seller knew the value. Superb. Their second album Rebirth is well worth tracking down. Much more prog that one. This is the second vid this week that's shown Shocking Blue. I do not own any, think I need to add to my list.
The Blonde on Blonde was $40 actually. Still a steal imo. I'll be looking out for rebirth. The shocking blue is amazing! One of my favorite Obscur-ish psych groups. Thanks for watching! ✌️
Hello my dear, I hope you are well. Since I was in the hospital for 3 weeks, I couldn't see everything about you. But you have bought another fantastic collection. I'm familiar with Canned Heat, but I only have their debut single "On The Road Again" from 1968, which is a great record for me. I also know Shocking Blue, but only the hit "Venus" from 1969, which I have on the original Metronome. Shocking Blue had a few top 10 hits here in Germany until 1971. Of course, "Yellow Submarine" is not missing either. I think this album is great and don't understand why it is so underrated by most people. "Hey Bulldog" is a masterpiece, just like "It's All Too Much" The original by "Only A I like the "Northern Song" from 1967 during the Sgt. Pepper recordings better, which is on Anthology 2. I also bought it in front of the hospital. I bought the new Beatles box with the red and blue albums cheaply from Italy, as well as the original Anthology 1. Of course the single Now & Then couldn't be missed. But it's nice to see that you have your beautiful room back. I wish you a nice evening.... Andy
Oh no! I hope all is well. Canned heat is a fantastic group. Shocking Blue never made any more records in the US unfortunately, but I'm looking out for the original dutch pressings. Yellow Submarine is great. I love anything by the Beatles. I hope you are feeling better! Thanks for watching!
@@sorinvinyl1523 Hello my dear Sorin. I think it's really nice of you to ask about my health. But you are also very nice. I had to go to the hospital for cervical spine syndrome that caused me pain and had to take pills and do physical therapy. Unfortunately, I got a flu-like infection in the clinic. All in all, it's a bit better. I wanted to comment on something about Shocking Blue. They were founded in 1967 in the Netherlands, in The Hague and separated in 1974. In 1978 there was an attempt to revive the band, where recordings were made, which were never released because they split up again very quickly. I have 2 copies of Yellow Submarine. One in green vinyl from Japan and one from Holland. I wish you a nice Sunday, best regards, Andy
Two really great albums of roots reggae I can recommend are Two Sevens Clash by Culture and African Dub All Mighty Chapter 3 by Joe Gibbs and the Professionals, also have a 12inch of Cocaine In My Brian by Dillinger, it even made No1 in Netherlands in 1977! Another fine roots reggae singer Augustus Pablo, especially his track King Tubby Meets the Rockers Uptown👍. I remember seeing Desmond Dekker back in 1969, he was the first popular Jamaican singer in the U.K. his hit Israelites was most people’s introduction to Bluebeat/Reggae music apart from Millie-My Boy Lollipop 😊. If you like Canned Heat definitely pick up any Paul Butterfield Blues Band albums especially the first two! ❤
Thanks for the recommendations! I added them to my wantlist. I've heard of some of the names before but I'll check out the artists next time I'm in the mood. I have the first 2 Butterfields and they are fantastic. Thanks for watching ✌️
I'm not a Sinatra fan, but that record is a great one and is one I also own. I always remove the shrink because of what you mentioned - it continues to shrink and can bend the cover. Plus, it can become brittle and discolor over time, leading to discoloring the cover. Sellers love to hype the fact that something is "still in the shrink!" But unless the shrink is brittle and wrinkled, it's probably not original shrink.
I think I might take it off on this one. If theres a hype sticker or a cool price sticker I would definitely keep it. It's highly likely that it has been re-shrinked. Thanks for watching! ✌️
Nice Finds Sorin!!! You Are So Spot On With Canned Heat!!! Certainly One Of The Bands That Defined The 60's!! I Was 17 In 69, So Couldn't Slip Away To Woodstock....But My Friends Brother Was There And We Met Him On The Road Heading Home!! With His Fringe Jacket And Covered In Mud!! I Asked Him Who Was The Standout He Said " Canned Heat Brother"... So There You Go!!!!
Thank you! Canned Heat is amazing! And what a cool story! I wish I could've been at Woodstock. There is a video of some of their set up on youtube and its phenomenal stuff! Thank you for sharing!
Cool finds, as a lifelong reggae collector I would suggest focusing on 70’s roots reggae for the best sound, I’m not a big fan of 80’s production reggae, also check out the heavy dub sounds of King Tubby, Lee Perry, and Scientist, dub is a great workout for your sound system, also UK reggae is another great rabbit hole to go down, keep up the crate digging!
Its a fantastic album! Even reissues are hard to come by. I will probably never own an original but I'd lovw to gind a reissue. Thanks for watching! ✌️
Great pick ups. I love eclectic collections. I don't understand people who only collect one genre, l understand having favourite genres but not exclusively. Sinatra was so cool
Thanks, man! I try to have a wide range of music taste. I agree. My favorite genre is psych, but there is just so much more music out there. Thanks for watching! ✌️
Great finds! I also need Yellow Submarine love the songs on that album but it’s only one half Picked up Fairport Convention at a record show recently fairly cheap. I found a repress of the Blonde on Blonde album at the same show, that og is awesome. Highway robbery for a dollar now that’s a steal!!! Killer album Take care ☮️
Yeah, I only listen to the first half of Yellow Submarine. Some great tracks on side one. Blonde on Blonde is one of my best finds this year. And I was stocked about Highway Robbery! Thanks for watching ✌️

Try some U-Roy. His take on reggae is heavy! Outstanding Canned Heat lp. I actually really love the instrumental stuff on that Yellow Submarine lp! Nice goin. 🖖🚀
I'll check out U-Roy for sure! Sounds interesting. I jeed to give the instrumental stuff a listen. I do very much enjoy classical music. Thanks for watching ✌️
$1.00 for Highway Robbery? Wow! That's Highway robbery! The antique stores around here don't have anything close to Blonde On Blonde. Sweet get. Peace ✌ ☮ 🕊
Great result on the Blonde On Blonde! I've only come across one UK copy and it was a bit rough for £100 so I left it (making do with a US press). Highly recommend their next lp Rebirth, which thankfully I do have a UK copy. Great pickups as usual mate. Regards Nigel
@@sorinvinyl1523 That's an absolute bargain. No way would you ever get that for such a low price in the UK. 3rd lp isn't as good as the previous 2 but has one really great track. Enjoy it mate...fully deserved. Cheers Nige
Someone butchered that Peter Tosh album. The Canned Heat debut has been one that I haven’t found a good copy of. Without Al Wilson Canned Heat were just another Boogie band.

Just sent him a text lol. We will be putting out a video together sometime in the next 2 weeks hopefully.
All the J J Cale albums are great . Nice pickups Tosh, Sinatra, Canned Heat,Shocking Blue& Beatles 😎👌That Fairport album looks minty
