I also use the H6 for my interviews. I use lavaliers instead. I’ve played with Omni and cardioid mics with various levels of success. My issue is each mic picking up the other person which can sometimes create issues when syncing. The overall sound gets worse. Cardioid helped a little bit but the pickup pattern becomes the problem when heads move too much. I’ve tried to make sure the mic is better positioned. It’s helped.

I've watched, seemingly, weeks worth of Think Media videos, and have gotten a lot of value and inspiration from them. With that said, this video confuses me, because it's not focused on deeply-helpful information. Two $20 lav mics and a y-cable into an iPhone will produce almost identical sound quality to an SM58's in a meeting hall setting. Also, you are showing Audition edits, which is great and supports an, even more, a lower cost mic setup, since the audio can be improved in the DAW...but, applying effects to a clip or track, especially with spoken word, is less effective than creating a bus and applying the effects there. I would think an expert audio and video producing team would know that. Lastly, going the route of handheld mics and a recorder, the Tascam 60DMKII is a vastly better choice in quality, versatility, and price. If you have two SM58's, why a Zoom recorder with mics built-in? Nothing in the video is wrong, and of course, people will get value from it. Still, I get the sense that your expertise could be used to create a deeper understanding of options for beginners, rather than to present popular products and solutions, but not options and techniques that are indeed value for money.

Well, I don't do pod casting, I have been managing & maintaining an auditorium PA for over 30 years though. I think you advice here is good, you want to keep it simple and easy to use & the SM58 is a simple, very reliable & tough mic used by professionals in the industry for decades, a real workhorse. It's not the highest performing or most versatile mic out there, but that sort of thing requires a lot more messing about & setting up. So no, the simple dynamic mic is definitely the way to go for pod casting & the SM58 is as tough, rugged & reliable as a decent professional quality mic gets.
Dynamic mics like the SM58 are low sensitivity, so have to be used in very close proximity to source, like an inch or two, but that is just part of minimising unwanted environmental noise anyway.
If people want to mic from distance, they need a whole other & more expensive solution for that.

@Mickey Dylan There are several ways either with an external recorder with mix minus built in like Rodecaster, Zoom L8, Zoom P8 or Zoom P4 (199) all these have the capability to record through Zoom or Skype by plugging in to computer, tablet or phone. Other method requires many pieces of wiring dongles to make it happen. Hope this helps..
