I've been playing fm for years now (pretty sure my first game was fm16) but I still love your videos. They're quite informative but also so aesthetically pleasing! I love the vibe you've created and look forward to seeing your channel grow
Nice Job, as usual :) The two main differences between an inside forward and an inverted wingers are 1. In posession the inside foward starts wide and then drifts towards the box, to recieve a pass while the inverted winger stays wide, gets the ball and then cuts inside to play a pass (or shoot if possible). 2. The inverted Winger is more of a ball carrier. So lets say the winger gets the ball at the middle line hes gonna run with it as long as possible, going into 1v1 etc while the inside forwards tends to pass to a more creative player and run into a finishing position instead. Thats at least what i observed so far^^
I normally don't comment on RUclips but I wanted to say I really like your role guides! I often wonder what the difference is between a role on support vs a role on attack. Maybe you could include that in your guides? Keep it up! I subbed
Maybe do a video on how to use roles that overload certain parts of the field, opponents box, wide areas, center mid eg. Or a video on roles that are well suited for different tempos/levels of directness
A great breakdown of a role I use a lot in my tactics! I will definately use the advice of watching 20 - 30 minutes of a match to study the position... thank you, once again clear and immersive content!
You're welcome! Thanks for the support! And yea, the 20-30 minutes really helps figure out what's wrong, or finding out what could work with a couple of tweaks
@TheDeepLyingPlaymaker it definately does help and also when the match is played at a lower speed too! I also find having an IF and IW on either flank works well when creating chances!
You are very good at synthesising and explaining the concepts while keeping it simple to understand for beginners and still interesting for more experienced players. Top content mate 👏🏼
thank you! Glad it's helpful for both the beginner and experienced player. Sometimes it can be tricky to figure out explaining core concepts and more in depth stuff, without the video being too bogged down with info haha
I've not been playing FM for around a year now, but these videos really make me want to play the game again next season. They're really great, keep it up!
Man this is a great series! Long time FM player and full of my own opinions, but these videos are a lovely informative breakdown of the different available roles. Gained yourself a sub sir 🙏🏾
Absolutely thrilled to be the first like on this video! Your Football Manager content is always top-notch and incredibly insightful. Keep up the fantastic work-I'm loving every minute of it!
Hopefully you should start seeing more in depth tactic stuff like this in future videos; I also may do a dedicated video to tactical ideas like 'creating space'
another fantastic video… i made a mix in my save on the right i play IF(s) and WB(at) and on the left IW(at) and FB(s). very nice and a lot of clearance created
Another great video. I would love to a video about the half-back role and maybe how roles like the half-back and inverted full back roam and affect the positioning of other players
Great vídeo. As brazilian, I have to correct your pronunciation about the team you talking about: it's more like NAUtico than nauTIco as you said (tonic syllable). You didn't need this info, but now you know haha.
You know what's funny, is I actually struggled with this haha. I really liked the team, but I wasn't 100% sure on how to pronounce the name. I tried to find some videos on someone saying the name but didn't have much luck. I was like well do the best you can, hopefully they can understand through the thick American accent haha. But seriously, thank you for the information! Always love to learn about the proper pronunciations of teams/players. I think I've got Nautico in a future video so I'll be sure to correct it!
@@TheDeepLyingPlaymaker No problem. Náutico is a medium/small club, but that has very passionate fans in Brazil. Their rivalry vs state rivals Santa Cruz and Sport is crazy. I hope you manage to bring they back to the first division.
Love the production quality of your videos. What's the difference between support and attack? I can't really notice anything in matches. I would like my IF to make more off ball movements Salah style.
thank you! And no, there's not a lot of difference between support and attack. In my experience, the two duties have maybe the least amount of differences between all the player roles. On attack they'll be a little more selfish on the ball. You could try the "roam from position" player instruction; maybe help the IF drift around a little more
I always struggle to get those wide roles to work properly in my tactic. Pair any of them with a AF/TF and you're fine, try them with a Trequartista and the struggle begins. One day I'll figure it out :D
Another excellent video. Please keep doing it! Thanks from Brazil By the way: your pronunciation of 'Náutico' made me laugh, but that's ok. 😂 Next time think about the word 'Baltic' and you will say 'Náutico' in the right way Love your videos
Great video! I have been struggling with setting up a 4-3-3 with an inside forward, but you have me a few ideas to try. Real quick; what would you play in the left midfield slot behind an left inside forward on attack? A playmaker or more like a roaming midfielder (bbm)?
I like to play an IF/WB on the same flank, and then something more reserved in that centeral midfield slot. A BBM like you say would work, or a carrilero would be great too. If I had a playmaker, I'd probably test him out on the opposite side of the midfield
I have resently tried to make the IF work in my save. I have had mixed results, they are very inconsistend. A good idea for a video woud be on the wingbacks/fullbacks and what type is best suited for what type of winger. Also is it better to have a F9 or a DLF in order to use your IF to his best or is it better to use other players for the more supportive roles.
I plan on doing the combo role videos (like an inside forward/wingback) in the near future. But in the short term, I've found success by using an IF with a DLF/F9. I personally prefer a DLF since they have more of a "striker" mentality than a F9; so an IF on attack and a DLF on support can be a good combination to start with. And then a wingback on the same flank on support
Support is more diagonal runs, finding space, little more passing. Attack is about running at the defense and shooting or passing in the penalty box. And thanks for the question, I realized I didn't really specifiy that info in the video! I'll be sure to add in stuff like that for future videos
@@TheDeepLyingPlaymaker you're welcome. So in this context would an attack role be better with a creative, deep striker while a support role with a get-in-behind striker?
thank you! and if I'm being honest, I'm not really someone who likes to stream haha. I'm pretty introverted so I don't know who exciting it would be haha. But who knows, that could change in the future. and thank you again for the support!
If you were playing with an arsenal, how would you use sake as a mentor? only players in his position? and in the way the game recommends, i.e. 3 people in a group or more and from other positions?
Yep, I would use him as a mentor with 3 other youth players. They don't have to be his exact position but use positions that are at least somewhat similar (so strikers, attacking midfielders, and attacking wingers area all similar). I wouldn't use defenders/goalies. When you promote a youth player to your senior squad, have Saka start mentoring them and you should (hopefully) start seeing benefits within a few months.
I would use Saka as an IF on attack, mostly because of that "long shots" attribute of 16 and his player trait "cuts inside". For Martinelli, I don't like using the same exact role on both sides, but his best role really is an IF on the left. If I were testing it, I would try them both on IF and then put Odegaard in the central midfielder on probably an AP.
Funny enough I don't use opposition tactics for the role guides. I use them in my own saves, but for the videos I want to try and keep the roles as neutral as possible. No player instructions either

Important for inside forward: if you have a good header as IF, use far post crossing instruction for players on the other flank.
great tip!

amazing keep going. and if you can would make videos how roles combine to eachother
the goal is to start doing combo role videos in the (hopefully) near future!

Oooo that's a good one! He did move into that more striker role as time went on

thanks for the suggestion! I'll see if I can do something on team instruction, and then individual player instructions
Can i ask what OI u use with this tactic
Funny enough I don't use opposition tactics for the role guides. I use them in my own saves, but for the videos I want to try and keep the roles as neutral as possible. No player instructions either
He keeps on cooking 😂
What is the skin?
It's the rensie dark fm24 skin. You can find it on FMScout
You can actually put an IW or an IF on either flank no matter what his stronger foot is, it has absolutely no impact on performance.
Source?
Nah surely it does
