Thank you for watching! I also remembered today actually marks one year of making videos, and I think this is a great way to cap off how much this channel has been able to do in that time. Thank you all for your support!
You Lizardy are the Mario and Luigi community’s hero. You were able to interview a developer to reveal more about the games! And thank you Masashi Haraki for agreeing to be interviewed!
@@ExGanonMain recently Nintendo made questions to random people about Mario & Luigi, Mario RPG and Paper Mario, questions of what they liked in those games, so there's a chance we see something happening to the 3 rpg games
I can't believe you found a freaking AlphaDream dev. You are doing so much for the recognition of this series, you can't believe how thankful I am to you! Keep going strong!
I love the Mario & Luigi series so much. It means so much to me since I grew up with those games so seeing it slowly fade away really broke me. I hope you know that your work will genuinely pay off for the series’ revival one day
I can’t believe you were able to interview one of the Mario & Luigi devs! It’s my favourite game series ever and it’s awesome to know that the devs are still so passionate about their games. I hope that the series makes a return in the future. With the surveys that people have been getting from nintendo, I am more hopeful than ever that it is coming back soon!
Thank you for doing what you're doing. It's been really cool following your research on AlphaDream, since not a lot of people know/care about what happened to them. You're a legend for the M&L community!
Nice to see some positive developments happening in the Mario and Luigi community. These games really mean a lot to me and were a defining moment of my childhood. Its nice to hear the thoughts and stories of someone who worked on these games. ☺
@lizard.y I loved the video and how you went and interviewed the remaining employees of AlphaDream and I think that Masanori Sato the Mario & Luigi’s game Artist could be interesting to interview because maybe he has some interesting facts on his art style for the Mario & Luigi games?
Insanely proud of how far you've come man, you've put a lot of dedication into this channel, and it's paid off. Maybe in the future you could cover some YoKai watch content? Maybe a retrospective or speculation into the future of the series?
Thank you!! I really do wanna branch out into more LEVEL-5 related videos, and depending on the game they’re showing sometime this month hopefully there will be a video sooner than later
This was an amazing video, the amount of details, and how neat you made the video. I felt nostalgic about Alpha Dream watching this, just like Masashi Haraki was feeling.
Very interesting video since Superstar Saga is still my favorite of the Mario RPGs and I now appreciate it even more. Its interesting how the game's development was, I've always liked the spinning 3D star introduction in a fight in the game, it looked completely unique for a GBA game and makes the game more special. I hope you get to meet more developers in the future, I love learning this stuff.
I'm very impressed that you were able to carry it an interview with an AlphaDream dev. Even though I haven't played the games in quite some time, Mario & Luigi will forever hold a special place in my heart and being able to know what it was like to develop one of them is truly exciting,
Man, that was pretty cool to get in-contact with a previous member of Alphadream. I kinda wished you'd ask him why they removed the Fire and Thunder powers in the next instalments, but then I realized he was no longer there for Bowser's Inside Story.
My personal theory as to why they went under is in part because nintendo had them still working on the 3ds when the switch was already released. If i'm correct the inside story remake came out 2 years after the switch's launch when most people had abandoned ship. Along with paper jam not being held as fondly as the rest, it went from a stumble to not reaching the ship in time with something truly noteworthy. Had they had the remake reworked to be ported to switch I wholeheartedly believe they would've lasted for at least one more release.
I cant believe this, this was really interesting and awesome, your videos about the series and alpha dream have been great since the beginning throughout the year, Thanks for caring about this and making this video!!
Ya know i kinda wonder if it could ever be possible to find other devs that worked well with each other and see if they would be willing to form together as a new company and pitch ideas to nintendo and see if that can somehow lead us to getting that PiT remake we missed out on
wheres the video about the HOPE!!! the new console is probably a combination of 3ds and wiiu, wich would be perfect for a new mario and luigi game, because we would have the bottom and top screen. also theres a survey about the mario rpgs! cant wait for your video!❤
It's fascinating to see this peek behind the curtain about any development studio. Really glad I stumbled upon this video. Also, I am curious about AlphaDream’s troubles. It kinda came as a shock that they closed, so I look forward to the video where you lay out what might’ve happened. (also that tidbit about the Starbeans customers makes me think it didn't last long before being scrapped).
Thank you so much for this. I'm excited for a video from you about the remakes, and about the big research project on Alphadream you mentionned! Take your time, I know it'll be great
1:41 "Certain aspects that brought down the experience" Yeah… like no Geno, and some of the odd music changes to the minigame music and especially the E. Gadd event.

This video was great. I'm gonna go binge loads of your videos lol. I beat Superstar saga for the first time (the 3ds remake) last year and loved it! Then I replayed Partners in Time after 8 years and enjoyed it (albeit a lot less than I remember as a kid) and just started replaying bowser's inside story (the 3DS version, my DS cart got broken and I don't like using emulators much). Been having a blast and I'm gonna play the last two games in the series! I hope everyone at alphadream get hired by nintendo to work on any future games in this series, I think it's definitely coming back after the success of Mario RPG and Paper Mario TTYD Switch versions!
"I prefer the remakes" FINALLY someone didn't call the remake for Inside Story terrible and pointless!... I may have a few too many times that I heard this on both this and BDSP. XD
Lizardy do you know if some Alphadream ex-developers moved to Sega? I'm asking because after Alphadream last console game being Mario & Sonic Tokyo 2020, I'm wondering if some of the devs moved to Sega after that game release.
I believe only about one or two moved to Sega. From our current knowledge with what games the devs have been credited on, they all went totally separate ways. Some at companies like Monolith Soft, some at smaller places like Onion Games, etc. I don’t think there was many that went to a single company, unless some did and they’ve just been taking their sweet time on a game.
Well 😊Yeah cuz the 3ds ones werent faithful their originals like The reworked songs were close but rlly garbage sounding fr , alot of the instruments of their originals are missing for sake of modernization but it only made the 3ds remakes clunkier and incomplete u can call this a dumbing down . The sprite reworks used to be good only for dream team and paper jam cuz they were unique but the 3ds remakes theyve become generic and rushed and kinda obsolete , they wouldve been better if the dream team assets in the 3ds remakes were faithful to their original to keep their original uniqueness and charm. Repetitive in game art style is also a problem in the 3ds remakes cuz for the remakes theyve also couldve chosed to handrawn style likethe official m&l rpg style , but no keep reusing pre existing assets and dumbing them down . The side storys of the remakes are pure mediocre and barely contribute to the mains story Especially Bowser jr journey the side story plot is good but terribly executed and doesnt contribute to the main story at all and both of their side storys have slow repetitive gameplay but the jr journey one was obsolete and rly difficult . Thats why the 3ds remakes were rlly bad and the worst selled games barely any effort were put in those remakes . Its clear the 3ds remakes were rushed on a dying console just the save alphadream but thy only lead to their demise by not just releasing these on a dying console but rushing the remakes out . Its alphadream s'own fault of why they are gone since 2019 , if they were smarter than this replacing paper jam wth a 3ds remake of superstar saga then preparing themselves for the switch to make a PiT and BiS reamke on the switch then alphadream woule still be alive .🙄😭 Hope the devs will learn the studios s' critical failures so when nintendo will bring a new studio to continue the mario&luigi series .🙃
