100%, if AlphaDream didn’t immediately begin work on BiS DX right after SS DX they would’ve saw other games in 2018 on 3DS not preforming great and could’ve made a switch to.. Switch
@lizard.y Funnily enough, rumor was that they were GOING to change to switch. They just needed some small funding, so they made BIS DX. shame it flopped.
So many unanswered questions. Why they have to kept doubling down on the 3ds? They couldn't afford to make a game or a Superstar Saga Remake for the Switch? Did Nintendo deny them to release it for the Switch, because it would impacted Kingdom Battles sales? Why remake Bowser's Inside Story in the first place if the 3ds can run the original? Who thought of a mobile game-like the minions mode was a good idea?
Based off what I could find, according to an interview with Game Informer after the remakes launch, BiS was seemingly chosen over PiT because they wanted to go with the best received entry in the series and try exploring Bowser and Bowser Jr's relationship (which became Jr's Journey). Also to continue with Fawful's story that they added to back in SS since he was a fan favorite character As for why it wasn't on the switch, they stated it was so that the game could retain the dual screen elements of the original like the minigames and giant battles
@@OriginalGameteer All of those excuses they made just intensify how pointless all of this, nobody asked for a BIS remake on the 3ds, that featured Bowser Jr in a separate story. I understand why would be difficult to release this game on the Switch but this remake shouldn't even exist in the first place, if they really wanted to make a story with Bowser Jr, they should made a separate game for it, and preferably on Switch.
@ivanzone7538 I largely assume it boils down to familiarity with the console and somewhat easy asset reuse, especially given they might(???) not have been doing well financially beforehand It doesn't make a whole lot of sense to go do a remake on a console they have zero experience with and have to build from the ground up imo, on a console that doesn't immediately work as well with the games style like the 3ds If BiS was a (failed) attempt to stay afloat, I can honestly believe them as seeing a switch take on the game being too big a risk to take. I don't they made a GOOD decision by any means, but it was probably their safest bet at the time if you ask me
@@OriginalGameteer Do you know what I think is funny but messed up, Alphadream worked with Intelligent Systems in Paper Jam right? And they didn't learned nothing about giving one final hurrah of a game? I am talking about Fire Emblem Awakening, that was pitched to Nintendo as the last game to the series because of financial problems this series was bringing to Nintendo and knowing that this was their last game, IS put so much effort to it to try to change that and they succeded. Alphadream could have done the same thing, pitched to Nintendo to help them make what would be their final game on the Switch and make it special. Then, with the help of Nintendo Kyoto or another second party studio they could do it.
I really miss them. It's thanks to Mario and Luigi Bowser's inside Story that I developped an interest for RPGs. As I keep playing them, I keep seeing the differences between their battle systems. I hope that we will get another Mario and Luigi game one day.
Dream Team was a milestone of sprite work, to fit into the 3D environment they sprited so many different angles for some of the most fluid looking sprite characters ever.
It's crazy to think I own one of the rarest Mario games to date, being that one of 50000 in the world to buy Bowser's inside story on the 3DS. I think both the remakes are the best of all their games actually and even crazier considering those are the ones that performed terrible. Shows what a dead console and poor marketing can do.
The issue isn't marketing, if I recall correctly you can still play the original BIS on your 3DS making a remake literally pointless. I believe on the DS you could play GBA games though it has been awhile. The remakes were not just a poor decision, but also some of the changes made led to expressiveness being changed. This means that it can completely destroy things depending on how it feels it drives people away which happened during Super Star Saga. There were many incidents where characters stood out and were reduced to generics. With all of this there was very almost no reason to get any of these remakes.
@@Buglin_Burger7878 I can sorta attest to that loss of expressiveness to the sprites, at least with the BiS remake. I also own the original BiS, but I don't have the remake. I've watched people play it though. I dunno why, I just love the sprites in the original more. Especially Bowser's. Something about the way he looks in the remake seems off to me. I'm not sure what it is that makes it worse for me, but I simply don't like it as much. (SOMEWHAT RELATED RANT WARNING) It's such a shame though. I love the M&L series so much and it still hurts that they just withered out like that. It feels like nobody really cared, y'know? That's not true, I know. It just leaves me so unfulfilled and sad how they died grasping at straws. Even then, it's bittersweet how their last two games were re-living the glory days. Like a tired and old champion knowing it's almost their time. So they reflect on what made them who they are. Obviously that's me dramatizing and overexaggerating. The remakes were made for money. Money for them to continue to be able to fund their games and company. But when I look at it in that unnecesarily philosophical and probably cringe way, it gives me some solace. Makes me think that maybe, just maybe, they were okay with going out with what made them great. What made them special. Sorry for the mushy stuff. I'm probably gonna dislike this comment in a few years from now too, so don't worry about understandably cringing at it.
Nintendo probably trademarked the series not with intent to bring it back, but purely just to ensure they get to keep a hard grip on it. And as much as I love the series, I would be worried that another entry without the original people behind it just wouldn’t carry the same magic.
I think what makes Alphadream's bankruptcy tragic isn't because they're arrogant, lazy, or something like that. It's because they took too little risk when it was clear they needed to do something more than ever. By constantly playing it safe when it's not even working, they are in a really tight spot. Nintendo's strict mandates, lack of understanding of their demographic/audience/trending market, and lack of creativity at the time alongside a lack of understanding of the audience, and cluelessness killed our beloved game company in the end.
I have actually noticed recently that Nintendo has really just been testing the waters of their games. For example, F zero 99 is them testing out how many people want a new f zero game. I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re doing the same with putting superstar saga on NS online to see how much hype has surrounded around it.
The fact that Luigi's Mansion 2 (a 3DS title) being ported to the Switch as well as TTYD being a remake for it gives me hope that one day M&L will be ported as well. Nintendo is starting to show some favor to the Mario RPGS!
I think people just want a new mario and luigi game at this point though. Superstar saga and BIS have had the remake magic already and their latest game paper jam was poorly received. I think the majority of fans would be annoyed to see yet another remake ported to the switch. A new game is needed to revive the franchise at this point.
That was a nice video. It's such a shame that things ended the way they did, but I still believe in new beginnings! I would love an all-new Mario & Luigi for the Switch/2, as well as faithful remakes of the previous titles.
Really good video here. Its sad to look back at the decline in 2019 but I'm sure if people care enough they could bring it back #BringBackMarioAndLuigi
Ngl with quite literally all the other mario rpg series getting some love this year, it will rly break my heart if we dont get something mario and luigi related later on. Fr mario + rabbids has gotten the sparks of hope dlc. paper mario is getting a remake of the fan favorite entry of the series TTYD. and even the OG mario rpg from the SNES is getting a remake too! Fr if all this stuff we thought was never gonna happen, happened then hope can't be lost for Mario and Luigi!
agreed, it really sucks every other Mario rpg is getting a ton of love but Mario & Luigi (ironic since it was basically the opposite in the 2010s with Mario & Luigi having the most consistent games lol)
The Elite Captain Quartet fighting Mario & Luigi has been constantly in my mind for years now! You can sorta get an idea on how the bros and quartet would first interact by watching the beginning cutscene of the mission “Trio Clash” in Jr.’s Journey. (I just love the Captains to death, definitely some of my favourite characters of all time)
As someone who still has PiT & BiS (Original), and probably has DT somewhere too, MAN I love this series and I'd love to see it return. Genuinely M&L, Pokemon Y, and Rhythm Heaven Megamix are what keep me playing my 3ds lol
As someone who played a ton of Pokémon X on my 3DS, I'm happy to see the high praise of Pokémon Y here. Gen 6 Pokémon didn't deserve so much of the hate it got
As someone born in 2000s Mario & Luigi series, Partners in Time in particular might be my Super Mario RPG because how nostalgic it was. Time and time again that game just randomly crossed my mind, remembering how fun and surprisingly dark they were. Someday, babies, someday...
I’m still surprised the day Alphadream declares bankruptcy, just so happens to fall on my 14th birthday. But now that we have both a remake of Mario RPG AND TTYD coming, I have new hope that M&L will get its turn to come back too. #BringBackMarioandLuigi
I am kinda sad ALPHADREAM went into backruptcy mostly since when i saw them releasing remakes for superstar saga and bowser's inside story i was impatient for a remake of partners in time since that was the first mario and luigi game i ever played and i had great experiences with it but then the bankruptcy news came and i was very distraught
The scary thing is that I have a physical copy of the 3ds version mario and luigi bowser’s inside story and learning about alpha dreams bankruptcy on oct 3-4th kinda hurt…. (I have a U.S copy)
I noticed a pattern with the recent directs. The June 2023 direct revealed the Mario RPG Remake and the September 2023 direct revealed the Paper Mario Thousand Year Door Remake. That means that the upcoming probably February 2024 direct could reveal a Mario And Luigi Partners In Time remake or even better a Mario And Luigi 6. #BringbackMarioandLuigi (Edit: I originally said December 2023 but February directs are more common.)
No, it was a self murder. BIS remake was literally the worst possible decision as people could play it already. You're remaking what people could still play.
Great video! It really is a shame that they made the decisions they did with the BIS remake, it really turned into their unfortunate swan song. I do hope that the series gets picked back up by Nintendo someday, maybe at the start of a console's life instead of when it's already got one foot in the grave.
I honestly find it sad that I'd never grew up with any games from this Company as a kid (I was born in the early 2000s). My brother did try to get into them at one point, but Idk what happened.
with the unexpected come back from the first two rpgs i have a small hope something mario and luigi related is being planned like yeah sadly AD is dead but nintendo still has the ip
I hope time gives this video the views it deserves. As a kid I played the fuck out of partners in time, that game was sooooo good. Its probably the only reason I still buy any mario games, really. I sunk so many hours into that game, playing it on road trips, where ever I could manage it. Sad that the studio shut down, hope nintendo makes some more mario games that do for others what this game did for me.
Bowsers inside story was my first ds game and it taught me how to read and took me like most of my childhood to beat. Also the fact they weren’t allowed to use bowser to be playable again???
Proud to be one of the few who actually bought the BiS remake. There's so many issues with the BiS remake, including the modern art style that was becoming tired after 4 games, the lackluster and boring side mode, the remastered ost that lacks the zeal of the original, the fact that the 3ds was a piece of technology I'd been using for 8 years at that point, and that it was riding the tails of the worst game in the series + another remake beforehand. It's almost funny how many factors created a storm of ruin for this game. That being said, I really hope nintendo decides to bring back this franchise against all odds.
Bowser's inside story was a huge part ofbmy childhood. It was one of the first gamws I've ever played and had so much moments playing them with my younger brother and cousins. It's sad that they went out this way. I hope we ger another game soon...
Thank you for the video ^_^ First one I've seen of your channel, and I find it well-put together. Thank you for your passion, as well, I'm particulatly happy you managed to contact some of AlphaDream's people. Kudos! Long comment below! Their style, story ideas, and battle system will forever be a part of me, especially everything put in the Beanbean Kingdom of Superstar Saga. The worldbuilding of it, the crazy smiles plastered over emblems, enemies, allies, the music (Teehee Valley
I'm shocked that the remake of Bowser's Inside Story didn't sell well. Like i played the original years ago in elementary school and i loved it, then years later i played the remake in high school and I loved it. So what was the problem with that? Did the fans think this masterpiece didn’t need a remake or we're they pissed off that they skipped Partners in Time?
People usually say it’s a bad remake due to it being 30fps (which doesn’t really matter much considering it’s a 3DS game) and some people preferred the older sprite art in general which is understandable. The low sales were more so that the 3DS was practically dead in 2019, you could already play BiS on a 3DS, and lack of advertising
To me a lot of people just hated it for the sake of being on the 3DS which doesn’t make the game itself bad, the only thing I could understand is that some of the sprites didn’t look as good or iconic as some in the original, but I had no problem with them
A huge problem was an inability to develop for 3D games much less games in HD. Other companies known for 2d Sprites had long pivoted to 3d Models and many of them were already using 3D models to help develop 2d game like ArcSys and SNK. Mario and Luigi is unlikely to return anytime soon as Nintendo is likely looking at how to proceed with Mario RPGs, collab with SquareEnix, make older style Paper Mario games, or even potentially a new partner with new ideas. Nintendo also has a tendency to very rarely buy out partners as way of keeping themselves separate financially. They don't actually own Intelligent Systems, GameFreak, Hal Laboratories. Despite working with them for over 30 years on each of them. Nintendo only has 8 Subsidiaries in the past 20 or so years.
Yup, the transition to 3D for Gamefreak (mainly when going to Switch) was really rough, it’s hard going from 2D sprites your entire studios lifespan to models
Hey! Also a fan of this series as well and I also loved the side modes too, but I can understand it's not for everyone if there's not much variety in it. But can I ask if you can make a video discussion about how good or bad the Minion Quest/Jr.s Journey are since I don't see much videos talk about them if possible?
Id love to make a video specifically on the remakes and reviewing them, I did make a video on BJJ if you didn’t see that, but I do want to make a closer video into the games
The 3DS remake of Superstar Saga replaced the diverse Toads with generic ones, and the pilot uniform Koopas with generic ones. Like Paper Mario, it felt limited.
Yeah, some do think its a Paper Mario situation where it's moreso them being "mandated" but I think AlphaDream more-so just didn't have as much money to make individual sprites as such for every modified character
@@lizard.y The issue is that despite popular belief, Superstar Saga DX/Remake sprites are *not* the same as Paper Jam sprites. Put them side by side and they are angled differently. Since they made new sprites from the ground up, they should have added in the diversity.
Real quick about one of your comments around 11:15, but it's preety common for companies to just rent the building they're using since it's SUPER convenient to not have to go thru the trouble of selling if they want to move building to save on rent or expand into a larger space.
I loved Alphadream on GBA and DS, but i was so turned off by Dream Team when i bought it on release day that i was uncertain about their next game. Paper Jam reviewed poorly, and implemented Sticker Star's paper mario instead of any of the paper mario designs from the original trilogy, making it an immediate non-starter for me. I also hated the artstyle chosen for the Superstar Saga remake. Being so let down by those two releases, by the time the BiS remake was announced, i just didnt care for this company anymore. The last game they released that i actually liked was nearly a decade prior to their shuttering, so i was unmoved by their closure. Glad everyone made it out okay, but especially with news of SMRPG remake and TTYD remake, im in no hurry to see their return.
i hope to see the series come back i am going through the games again now beat superstar saga the other day and am going through partners in time right now tho i will need to get a copy of dream team somehow as thats the only game in the series i dont own or and have not played
One thing i will never understand about the BIS remake is the fact that you cant save anywhere you want like the Superstar Saga remake or even the other 3DS entries.
A huge appeal to me was having the Mario characters in new and bizarre situations and settings, I remember thinking that Dream Team was the most boring story but the most fun gameplay and if they could write a better story for the next one it could be as good as Saga (what I regard as the best). Then Paper Jam came out and was beat for beat uninspired which soured my perception of the series and when they announced remaking Super Star Saga I knew that was the end of it.
i think the reason nintendo did not save alphadream is because alpha dreamwas not even putting in the effort to improve they chose to just stay on the 3DS rather than take the leap to HD
id kinda doubt that, Nintendo producers also thought 3DS would be better then Switch for the remakes they really couldn’t have switched to HD at the time considering their debt already was large
The Mario & Luigi 3DS remakes' poor sales were largely due to being released at the time the 3DS was on its last legs, poor advertising, and in the case of Bowser's Inside Story remake, released on a system that can play the original version via backwards compatibility, being released after the holiday season and the North American release being coincided with the worldwide release of New Super Mario Bros. Deluxe on Switch. If only they were released for the Switch... Still have high hopes for a new entry or Partners in Time remake, though!
Nintendo should totally bring this series back I still like every entry in the series and own them all bring it back with a brand new game or a remake of Partners in Time also the Bowser's Inside Story remake should have released on Switch (same with the Superstar Saga remake) I'm sure it would have done so much better if it released on Switch instead on the 3DS when the Switch was already doing so well and the 3DS was already pretty much done hopefully we'll see the series again sometime, and is more likely now, that Mario RPG and Paper Mario Thousand-Year Door is getting a remake I mean how great would it be if they announce a new game in the Mario and Luigi series and it launched alongside the Switch successor or very early in it's life (with a new Mario Kart hopefully within the 1st year or 2)

Turns out we had a retry clock left
So many unanswered questions. Why they have to kept doubling down on the 3ds? They couldn't afford to make a game or a Superstar Saga Remake for the Switch? Did Nintendo deny them to release it for the Switch, because it would impacted Kingdom Battles sales? Why remake Bowser's Inside Story in the first place if the 3ds can run the original? Who thought of a mobile game-like the minions mode was a good idea?
These questions haunt me at night unironically
Based off what I could find, according to an interview with Game Informer after the remakes launch, BiS was seemingly chosen over PiT because they wanted to go with the best received entry in the series and try exploring Bowser and Bowser Jr's relationship (which became Jr's Journey). Also to continue with Fawful's story that they added to back in SS since he was a fan favorite character
As for why it wasn't on the switch, they stated it was so that the game could retain the dual screen elements of the original like the minigames and giant battles
@ivanzone7538 I largely assume it boils down to familiarity with the console and somewhat easy asset reuse, especially given they might(???) not have been doing well financially beforehand
It doesn't make a whole lot of sense to go do a remake on a console they have zero experience with and have to build from the ground up imo, on a console that doesn't immediately work as well with the games style like the 3ds
If BiS was a (failed) attempt to stay afloat, I can honestly believe them as seeing a switch take on the game being too big a risk to take.
"Were you killed?"
"Sadly, yes... but I lived!"
I agree, I prefer the remakes over the originals
The issue isn't marketing, if I recall correctly you can still play the original BIS on your 3DS making a remake literally pointless. I believe on the DS you could play GBA games though it has been awhile.
The remakes were not just a poor decision, but also some of the changes made led to expressiveness being changed. This means that it can completely destroy things depending on how it feels it drives people away which happened during Super Star Saga. There were many incidents where characters stood out and were reduced to generics.
With all of this there was very almost no reason to get any of these remakes.
@@Buglin_Burger7878 All of those were factors, but the lack of promotion for the game didn’t help also
@@Buglin_Burger7878
I can sorta attest to that loss of expressiveness to the sprites, at least with the BiS remake.
(SOMEWHAT RELATED RANT WARNING)
It's such a shame though.
I'm probably gonna dislike this comment in a few years from now too, so don't worry about understandably cringing at it.
its my fault for not buying enough copies of mario & luigi bowsers inside story + bowser jrs journey :c
HOW DARE YOU
Nintendo probably trademarked the series not with intent to bring it back, but purely just to ensure they get to keep a hard grip on it. And as much as I love the series, I would be worried that another entry without the original people behind it just wouldn’t carry the same magic.
We just have to wait and see...
It very likely could be, and I’m sure it is for a lot of other NSO games also
super star saga is already on nso tho?
It's still a shock to me considering they made a lot of good games in their run. Partners In Time remake hopefully one day, who knows?
The fact that Luigi's Mansion 2 (a 3DS title) being ported to the Switch as well as TTYD being a remake for it gives me hope that one day M&L will be ported as well. Nintendo is starting to show some favor to the Mario RPGS!
I think people just want a new mario and luigi game at this point though. Superstar saga and BIS have had the remake magic already and their latest game paper jam was poorly received. I think the majority of fans would be annoyed to see yet another remake ported to the switch. A new game is needed to revive the franchise at this point.
MARIO & LUIGI IS BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
That was a nice video. It's such a shame that things ended the way they did, but I still believe in new beginnings! I would love an all-new Mario & Luigi for the Switch/2, as well as faithful remakes of the previous titles.
Thank you so much, and I agree!
Open thine champagne bottles
Really good video here. Its sad to look back at the decline in 2019 but I'm sure if people care enough they could bring it back
#BringBackMarioAndLuigi
Thank you!!!
man it already has been 4 years since this happened, damn🙁
I hope that when we eventually get a new Mario and Luigi game, Captain Goomba will finally get to have his face off against the Bros
I would pay so much money for them to interact lmao
Gen 6 Pokémon didn't deserve so much of the hate it got
cant believe its already been 4 years
Ong 💀
Everyone is so happy now because Mario RPG and Paper Mario are coming back, but Mario & Luigi is the one I grew up with. I miss the series so much.
This is probably the single best researched video on this subject, nice work!!
Thank you so much!!!!
I think the series would still be alive if the two remakes (SS and BiS) released on switch.
Edit: #BringBackMarioAndLuigi
As someone born in 2000s Mario & Luigi series, Partners in Time in particular might be my Super Mario RPG because how nostalgic it was. Time and time again that game just randomly crossed my mind, remembering how fun and surprisingly dark they were. Someday, babies, someday...
It’s hurts my soul we will never getting a new game on the Nintendo Switch
Until now
Until now
This truly is spooky month... with the fact that their not here with we got one more Mario and Luigi game sigh we only got the memories of it all...
Yup 😭
I’m still surprised the day Alphadream declares bankruptcy, just so happens to fall on my 14th birthday. But now that we have both a remake of Mario RPG AND TTYD coming, I have new hope that M&L will get its turn to come back too.
#BringBackMarioandLuigi
Sorry it happened on your birthday, happy belated birthday tho!! 🎉
@@lizard.y Thanks
I am kinda sad ALPHADREAM went into backruptcy mostly since when i saw them releasing remakes for superstar saga and bowser's inside story i was impatient for a remake of partners in time since that was the first mario and luigi game i ever played and i had great experiences with it but then the bankruptcy news came and i was very distraught
This year is gonna be 5 years of the bankruptcy, damn 😢
HEY MARIO AND LUIGI IS BACK! :D
The scary thing is that I have a physical copy of the 3ds version mario and luigi bowser’s inside story and learning about alpha dreams bankruptcy on oct 3-4th kinda hurt…. (I have a U.S copy)
I also do 😔
I love the music at the end of the video. Very nostalgic
♥
It still hurts‼️‼️🗣️
😔
I noticed a pattern with the recent directs. The June 2023 direct revealed the Mario RPG Remake and the September 2023 direct revealed the Paper Mario Thousand Year Door Remake. That means that the upcoming probably February 2024 direct could reveal a Mario And Luigi Partners In Time remake or even better a Mario And Luigi 6. #BringbackMarioandLuigi
(Edit: I originally said December 2023 but February directs are more common.)
nintendo doesnt do directs in december, but the influx of mario rpgs def could mean something for the future
@@lizard.y Oh my bad. I kinda guessed December because of the 3 month gaps between the last few.
@@tahnis_walartNintendo’s direct pattern usually goes Feburary-June-September
@@TheAmazingRaptor Oh
welp no partners in time remake or m&l 6. luigi's mansion 2 tho
this wasn't a death, it was a murder
Ong
I second this
No, it was a self murder.
BIS remake was literally the worst possible decision as people could play it already. You're remaking what people could still play.
Nah bro this was genocide
Really hope we see the return of this amazing series !
Aw man you got me all bummed. This is still my favorite game series ever. Here's hoping it finally returns one day
Great video!
It really is a shame that they made the decisions they did with the BIS remake, it really turned into their unfortunate swan song. I do hope that the series gets picked back up by Nintendo someday, maybe at the start of a console's life instead of when it's already got one foot in the grave.
GIVE ME MY MODERNIZED REMAKE OF M&L PARTNERS IN TIME, I NEED IT. ITS THE FIRST RPG I HAVE PLAYED, AND MY COPY FOR THE DS IS SLOWLY DIEING.
I honestly find it sad that I'd never grew up with any games from this Company as a kid (I was born in the early 2000s). My brother did try to get into them at one point, but Idk what happened.
with the unexpected come back from the first two rpgs i have a small hope something mario and luigi related is being planned
like yeah sadly AD is dead but nintendo still has the ip
Still sad
😔
alpha dreams decision to remake bis on a dead console that could already play it baffles me. what were they thinking?
I hope time gives this video the views it deserves. As a kid I played the fuck out of partners in time, that game was sooooo good. Its probably the only reason I still buy any mario games, really. I sunk so many hours into that game, playing it on road trips, where ever I could manage it. Sad that the studio shut down, hope nintendo makes some more mario games that do for others what this game did for me.
Thank you so much!! Growing up, I had the same relationship with BiS and DT
I love these games when i was a child...I hope they do something to make this back...
#BringbackMarioandLuigi
@@lizard.yas much as I agree on the older sprites being better, I actually liked the newer sprites. Especially The Giant Battles.
honey, lizardy just uploaded
Mario and Luigi has new game 🎉
Just binged a bunch of your videos, it's kinda insane that you only have 2k subs at the moment. Keep up the good work!
tysm!!!
i learned about the existence of the inside story remake only after i learned about their brankrupt im still sad about it
#revivem&l
Honestly I don't blame you considering the lackluster marketing for the game
this is a great video, almost got me crying
Thank you!!
The bowsers inside story remake is one of the best remakes Nintendo has ever released. I cannot fathom how anyone has such problems with it
To me a lot of people just hated it for the sake of being on the 3DS which doesn’t make the game itself bad, the only thing I could understand is that some of the sprites didn’t look as good or iconic as some in the original, but I had no problem with them
Holy cow it really has been that long damn
Loved so much all of their games
What an incredible video. Subscription earned!

thank you so much!!
A English version of Tomato Adventures would be awesome.
Agreed, there is a fanmade translation though which I used footage from in the video!
This was a very well made video. Keep up the great content and your channel will skyrocket 😁
Didn’t think I could have waited any longer
Not nice how little nintendo helped, if they gave them switch dev kits it wouldve been a great help
Hey! Also a fan of this series as well and I also loved the side modes too, but I can understand it's not for everyone if there's not much variety in it. But can I ask if you can make a video discussion about how good or bad the Minion Quest/Jr.s Journey are since I don't see much videos talk about them if possible?
Id love to make a video specifically on the remakes and reviewing them, I did make a video on BJJ if you didn’t see that, but I do want to make a closer video into the games
i didnt what alphadream was until i found this channel. ty
Dream team is one of my favorite 3ds games. And despite the dislike of paper jam, imo it was still a solid 8/10
As someone who grew up in 2000s, Bowser's Inside Story was the highlight of my entire childhood. 🥲
Thank you for clarifying!! That makes more sense, not really knowledged on this kinda stuff lol
Yeah, I also didn’t enjoy Dream Team as much as previous entries but then Paper Jam released and made me appreciate Dream Team more
Rip alphadream you will be missed #ReviveM_and_L
A remake or remaster of mario and luigi dream team would go crazy
i think the reason nintendo did not save alphadream
is because alpha dreamwas not even putting in the effort to improve they chose to just stay on the 3DS rather than take the leap to HD
id kinda doubt that, Nintendo producers also thought 3DS would be better then Switch for the remakes
they really couldn’t have switched to HD at the time considering their debt already was large
Hopefully, one day. #ReviveM_and_L
I'm sure of it in light of recent Mario RPG remakes, it'll just be a while sadly
#ReviveM_and_L #remasterpit #remakepit #BringBackMarioAndLuigi #ThankYouALPHADREAM
This made me learn that very good games can sell poorly sometimes.
ITS BEEN 4 YEAR WAIT WAT
Nintendo should totally bring this series back
I still like every entry in the series and own them all
bring it back with a brand new game or a remake of Partners in Time
also the Bowser's Inside Story remake should have released on Switch (same with the Superstar Saga remake)
I'm sure it would have done so much better if it released on Switch instead on the 3DS when the Switch was already doing so well and the 3DS was already pretty much done
hopefully we'll see the series again sometime, and is more likely now, that Mario RPG and Paper Mario Thousand-Year Door is getting a remake
I mean how great would it be if they announce a new game in the Mario and Luigi series and it launched alongside the Switch successor or very early in it's life (with a new Mario Kart hopefully within the 1st year or 2)
100%, a new Mario & Luigi early in the successors life would guarantee great sales
They should definitely start with a remake. Let the new devs figure out how the series works, like Mercury Steam with Metroid.
