This for me is the epitome of simon peggs amazing acting ability...the facial expressions...the words..,the tension...the believability...one of my most favourite sketches...pure genius
It is scary how many people here aren't getting the joke. And no, not getting British Humour isn't really an excuse because it is clear as day what the sketch was going for.
A pan caught fire in my kitchen after I had answered a call to a relative. I said I had to go the kitchen was on fire… they started another conversation. I hung up lol
I like the other one featuring the same surgeons where they are discussing some upcoming conference and mention a whole host of ridiculous, rude names of the apparent attendees
aww I like the other Surgery sketch where they're all just talking about colleagues who have the stupidest names ever. Hmm I hope its tubed somewhere...
Something similar happened to me whilst performing brain surgery. My ex wife kept ringing to talk about maintenance payments. It got so annoying that I put the mobile phone into the patients head and sewed it up. My new job as a binman is much more satisfactory.
@@SpotlessLeopard Exact same thing happened to me. So, after I'd become a binman, I was about to collect someone's bin. Just as I reached for it, an ex-colleague of mine phoned me about a sticky aortic valve. By the time I'd got off the phone, the bin's owner had taken the bin back inside! I got reported to the British Binmen Council.
This isn't as good as the surgeon sketch where they all name-drop all their friends and they have the weirdest names ever, such as "Stephen Randyglands and the Minstrel-Piss Twins"
@MrRaha00 Yank? This is british humour, if you don't like it, don't watch it, or atleast express the reason why you found this "crap" instead of just saying crap.
@BestXGrip I am not a certified douche for my opinion, This is my kind of comedy, if it is not yours, then you have a right in saying it isn't, but by saying that it isn't anybody's is going to far, and therefore making you look like a "Certified douche"
Good idea, nice execution, although it was a bit too long tbh, they should have cut out a part in the middle. And frankly he should have been talking a little bit less at times, this way it came across as a bit repetitive and thereby not-real, as if there's nobody on the other side (the specfics were probably improvized). Just in case they didn't actually use somebody on the other line, they kind of should have, could have solved the issue I mentioned, but still a pretty good sketch
You're right, of course, which is why the name Cheydinal is synonymous with quality television comedy, and no-ones ever heard of Arthur Mathews, Graham Linehan, Simon Pegg, Mark Heap, Kevin Eldon and Catherine Tate.
@@SpeckleKen I am so incredibly sorry that I offended them, I shall never disagree with any decision of theirs again, clearly every single thing that somebody who often is really funny (and who I do like quite a lot, Simon Pegg that is) is always the exact right and best choice I didn't even post that to shit on them or anything, it's just that I realized that yeah, they could have probably done this one bit better. Which, yeah, they probably could have, and that's fine, and I'm pretty sure they'd agree

To be fair, this group were spoilt for those qualities. Mark Heap and Kevin Eldon could also do that.
Classic Big Train sketch starts in a routine everyday scenario and gets more and more absurd. I love it. Brilliant show.
Or the other way around for the space emperor sketches
@@fungusman9726 get me uh.. juice.
too polite to hang up the phone
The first time I saw this I couldn't stop laughing after Mark Heap hoyes the dish at the window.
hahahahaha simon is great! i also love when one of the staff members throws the bottle againt the window and simon just keeps on talking hahahaha!
It is scary how many people here aren't getting the joke. And no, not getting British Humour isn't really an excuse because it is clear as day what the sketch was going for.
Ah the classic British polite-ness... It has cost many lives. XD
Very true. Pragmatics and personal autonomy.
"I do have to go...but...let...yeah...okay...OH, dr. green is falling, i've... yeah"
haha, pricelessxD
A pan caught fire in my kitchen after I had answered a call to a relative. I said I had to go the kitchen was on fire… they started another conversation. I hung up lol
Improv master class right there.
"On call" - nice.
Also....I've turned into a ventriloquist dummy.
It's like trying to complete a call with my sis.
I think the patient grew old and died waiting for the phone call to finish.
this is like me on the phone to my nan..
so practical. happens with me too sometimes.... lol !! nice done!!
Good acting.
this is scary man, imagine if you're the patient, you're dead and the doc is not done with the phone yet! funny though.
he does that soooo well hahah
he is too polite.
These days you can just blame the mobile signal.
yep, Simon is very talanted and funny. sunny guy who can always raise one's spirits ))
reminds me if medicine in the 1990s; consultant on call from home no use whatsoever
I like the other one featuring the same surgeons where they are discussing some upcoming conference and mention a whole host of ridiculous, rude names of the apparent attendees
he is so funny surgeon looools
Simon
"ok..umm...no...yes...umm...she's dead...i think....she's gone,lost her....no,I can talk now,it's fine" LOL
It's so frustrating to watch!
brilliant acting :)) nice1
Either way, in the UK the patient isn't charged for any of it, but in the USA he would be. Ooooooh topical.
is that Steve Mangan at 1:34? or is that just all in my head because of GreenWing?
It would have been Mark Heap and Kevin Eldon.
Hey Shaun, you got red on you. :3
There's no I in team, but there is in meat pie and meat pie is an anagram of team....
almost real!
clever
I've had this problem
aaaaahhhhh
Hang the fucking phone up!!
wow.. if i there ..
maybe, I feel frustrasion... b'coz waiting for the phone call to finish
Priorities

not as exaggerated but you know what I mean?

Yes.

This is scary

Was that a Big Train?

Sounds like Harry and Paul?
Great sketch.
Hate to mention it, but I think two of the X-rays are back to front. Heart shadow should be towards the right. Sorry!

No gloves?
Hahahaha
Loved this sketch but always felt it suffered the ending. Cut it at 2:03 and it would be perfect in my opinion,
Yh find a lot of big train sketches go on a bit
Hello 2010
Yep. "No, I can talk now; it's fine" is the perfect punchline; that is where it should end.
This skit makes me feel physically frustrated.

ASHENS!!!!

1:15 lmfao
sadly Simon's real skills never showed in Trek or MI. Poor script n directing I reckon...
(Seen "Hot fuzz"?? Furkin brilliant - innit)
kkkkkkkkk
yes it is annoying
F I found this so annoying!!
