This is much better than any Microsoft provided training for this issue. During the beginning of a meeting, the largest group of atendees in a boardroom, would typically want to be the only ones Spotlighted so that everyone joining, will see them all, in landscape (wide) view, rather than being cut off in a portrait view.

This is very useful, sir! Question tho, why is it that on the attendee on mac, instead of you being beside the ppt presentation, the ppt was one of the minimized videos below? What I want to achieve is the one like on iPad's.

How Teams displays the video and slide is not controlled by the presenter but by the Teams app on the platform. I agree that the iPad version would be nice to have on all platforms but it is not something that the presenter has control over.

Very detailed video and scenario explanation! Just wondering, what would happen if you instead of spotlight me, spotlight other presenters?

If you are one of the presenters and others are delivering some of the slides then spotlighting the current presenter will help the audience focus on the person who is presenting at that time. This is a good practice for multi-presenter presentations.

Hi, is it possible to find out who spotlighted me, as per new MS Teams update?

very useful tip indeed. Is there a keyboard shortcut to switch spotlight on and off?

    • @ThinkOutsideTheSlide

Teams has few keyboard shortcuts and Spotlight is not one of them. It would be difficult as Spotlight is per attendee and the shortcut would need to know which attendee you wanted to spotlight.

When I join a Teams meeting from another device I don't show up as a second participant - that doesn't seem to be an option. Am I missing something on how to do this? Would I need to set up a separate Teams account for each device?

You can either set up multiple Teams accounts or the easier way is to connect to the meeting as a guest. Make sure you log out of Teams on the device before trying to connect to the meeting. When it asks you how you want to connect, select the option to connect as a guest. That's what works for me.

Thank you. This is a great strategy. Going to try this next time I’m presenting.

What would be really helpful is if Teams allowed toggling between the larger area shared screen and the presenter’s screen to swap them on playback. That way the presenter could watch their presentation and be able to do self critiques to improve their delivery. As it stands now the small screen showing the presenter is way too small to be of any use.

If you want your video to be larger beside the slides so you can analyze your delivery, you may want to try the method in this video: ruclips.net/video/rKDKniBmwe0/видео.html. You can make your video as large as you want on the screen beside your slides which will help in seeing your delivery.
