That would be even more beautiful with a matching lining ❤
it WOULD. You should do it!!
Your videos are like therapy for me. Thank you
🥰🥰🥰thank you so much!
I felt like a bada$$ BOSS when I sewed my first (invisible) zipper! Great tip with the scotch tape!
Invisible zipper installation is a sewing superpower!
I love hand stitching, it's very relaxing. The clutch is gorgeous.
Truth. I just handstitched a plunging neckline because I needed a chill moment! And thank you 💗
You’re right, 9” does sound good 👍🏻😂
I think I found a new fave RUclipsr
I love a little bawdy with my sewing 😜Welcome, and thank you!!
Amazing you tube video Marcy only you thinks outside the box I love it and I am going to make me some clutch bags with spare fabrics in my stash to make a bow. Brava to you and good to see you again on your you tube channel. Peace and Love to you and your husband 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Thank you so much, Sarah, from both of us 💗hope you enjoy sewing this up! It’s a great stash buster.
Ok..... I'm gonna need that rotary cutter......ok back to the video 😊
Beautiful easy bag. I love it
Yes! I have been wondering how I am going to make my little fashionista a bag because she loves accessories but the bags she has are too small for her treasures to fit in. Your tutorial is perfect and she is going to love the bow! I may add a strap for her, not 100%sure yet. Thank you for another wonderful video!❤
Lucky little fashionista! A strap would be a great addition, you know I’m all about making the pattern yours 💗
You are so ‘pumped up’ and make sewing exciting ❤😊
I get REAL pumped up about sewing. Especially when I can share something that’s easy to do with a big result!
How cute!!! Both you and the clutch!!
All of your videos are so informative, inspiring and joyous to watch!!
❤❤ Thank you❤❤
🥰🥰🥰thank you! I love to include helpful tips even if someone isn’t sewing the project, so I’m glad to hear it!
Oh Marcy, I ❤You!! You are amazing darlin’!!
🥰I’m blushing, thank you !
This is such a cute idea! I have a vintage leather jacket that's been sitting waiting for a creative repair but I think this might be it's new lease on life. Enjoyed this video, so cute, made me giggle, and inspired another make. Also... Marcy Harriell: Literal Sassmaker 🤩
SASSMAKER. Embroidering that on something!
Hope you upcycled that jacket!
Hi. 👌. I love the clutch along w the bows. Thank you.
You’re most welcome!
That's a awesome bag
Been while since I was sewing ( like year) need to get back to making blankets.
I always love watching you.
Peace and love 🌹
Thank you Aaron! I hope you’ve picked up the sewing thread again 💗
Cute!❤️❤️❤️
Fantabulous!!!
It's good to see you/y'all 😊

I made this purse and it came out so good. Such an easy and cute project.
Awesome! I’m so glad to hear that!
Once again another fun sewment. ❤
A SEWMENT. I LOVE IT.

Thank you Twixy, you too!

Thanks Cathleen!
Thank you. Love all your videos.
You’re most welcome, Rose!
Love your creativity! That's an awesome rotary cutter.
The flexibility is very cool. My MIL loves it and she doesn’t even sew!
Hi Marcy! Loved the video and the cute and easy bow clutch bag! Thank you so much for another great video demo!
You’re so welcome, Zina! I hope you try it!
Love your teaching style!!!!
😁thankya!
I love making purses and this is an adorable bag❤
Thank you! I like my bags ginormous, or teeny 🥰extra in size either way!
I’ve made loads of bags like this and I thought I don’t need to watch, but I just adore you so I watched anyway. And oh my oh my oh my the DIY Teflon foot - freaking genius so glad I watched 💪🏻💃🥰
🥰🥰🥰thank you! I feel like I should add a disclaimer in the title: this is about ___ but you’re also gonna learn about ___😅
Once again you've made my day. Great tips and instructions plus lots of colour. Cute little clips which my sister swears by.😉 You're a ray of sunshine on a cold blustery supposedly spring day.
🌞thank you Margaret! Your sister is right about those little clips…..especially if you’re sewing heavy materials or are *ahem* a pin dropper 🤣
I just made one out of cork! It’s awesome, thank you!!
AWESOME!!
Marcy, the bag is adorable! Please do not put the blade down open. You are scarring me. I learned my lesson. Believe me. Love you!
You are so right!!! I lock it when I’m sewing “by myself” but when I’m also the camera crew….I forget things. Thank you for the reminder, I bet I won’t forget now 💗🤣
I love your vibe. Wish more people in Cali were realistic and fun like you, doll!
And thank you for the wonderful content. I LOVE your instruction, it’s helped me be my best trad wife self! Haha
Ah, thank you! We loved the sun in Cali, but it’s important to find your people there too 💗🌞
I’m working on it! 😁
So, I literally lol’ed!! 🤣 I just finished designing my summer bag, so this was a good incentive to actually jump in and make it!! ❤️😍
YES! Sew that up, Nancy!
A 5 penny teflon foot. GEN-iiiiiiiii-US! What a delight! Love the little bag too, that's just dope! Now, if you put little rouleau loops on each side seam just below the zipper, you can make yourself a little handle with some more of the same ribbon fabric and a couple lobster clasps. Jes' sayin'! ;o)
Truth, we could go further! Like the billion dollar man as a clutch 😅!
That foot trick, lemme tell ya, it’s a lifesaver. I used it when making a Wonder Woman leather bodice!
❤️👀🙂Chicago
I made bow clutches 4yrs ago. They were a hit, lots of compliments. I also like to refashion clutches from clothes.
They’re really a two for one deal! 💗
Pleather isn't my style (my skin does not like plastic), but I love how the bow instantly elevates the simple boxed construction, so something like this may have to happen in different materials!
(Also, I feel you on the "literally" aside. And the handsewing rant. 😂 )
Rant sister! 😁😁😁
Leather would work wonderfully here, just choose a stable hide so the bag keeps its shape. I have some in my stash that are now earmarked for this!
@@thehandmadeharriells I have made entire garments by hand and they have held up really really well, handsewing rules!
@@beth12svist 😂😂
I bought a clutch like this years ago and didn't know how to hold it (it was my 1st clutch), so I ended up walking around the resort just like that, wrist in the bow. The bow tie part had some sparklies on it, so I was like, yeah... this is totally a wearable bracelet purse combo 😅. Thanks for validating me!
YOU WERE RIGHT! 🏝️😅
I made a quick one years ago that was just a flat rectangle….this one with its little 3D bottom is soooooo much more “holdable!"
Dear Marcy I love your videos. I feel so happy when I watch them. You have a beautiful carisma. I have a question all the sizes have the same rectangle measure Blesings
Thank you Gloria!
If you decide to make the bag shorter, like in the examples at the end of the video, just be sure your main bow rectangle’s finished width fits on the main bag with about a 1/2 inch of space above and below the bow. But I’d suggest making it as drafted first, you’ll see then how easy it is to adjust the size!
@@thehandmadeharriells thanks you dear Marcy.
Using denim!!!
YES! Denim would be perfect! Just be sure to zigzag your raw edges since denim does fray 🥰
I do have a lil remnant!!
This is a very nice video. My daughter makes bags so I shared his video with her. I love your necklace. I want one. Hahaha. Did you make it. It looks like a rosary but at the end I do not know what you put I cannot see what you put. Let me know. I love your videos , you make it so interesting. Love you.
Oh I hope she tries it!
This poor necklace….it’s my favorite necklace, and it’s been through the ringer! Maybe 7 years old? It’s by Betsey Johnson, and it used to have a “Day of the Dead” gold lady skeleton attached to the end, but she lost a leg. Now it has an African prayer bead attached to the end. I love wearable art that mixes religions in a beautiful way 💗
@@thehandmadeharriells Thanks for replying back to me. I love all your designs. The dress with the bows I will be putting bows on a long dress I have where the back is too low for me and that would be going with me on my European cruise at the end of September. By the way my mom have been sewing all her life and she makes clothe for myself my daughter and my grand children. She used to sew for a living but at age 90 she just sews for us.
So cute! Neat rotary cutter, too. Would folding over the top of an open bag (like your sample) reinforce the top so it would stay open? It seems like it should, but I suppose you could add cord or even wire to make a basket. Either way, it looks great. :)
Also, thanks for the template!
I swear, either I’m responding in my head, or YT is eating my words! yes, that would reinforce it, but even better…if you faced the top with like a 2 inch strip of your bag fabric, that would do the trick too!
@@thehandmadeharriells *chuckle!* I have no idea what's going on, but this is the first time I've seen this response! Thanks for the tip on the bag/basket. :)
Even as a civilian that rotary cutter is so cool. I am guessing that wearing the rosary beads drove off evil spirits and Rob was collateral damage.
My civilian MIL said the same thing! (and having Rob in this video would be dangerous. He prefers the safety button off 😳)
Do you ever use a zipper foot?
Is that a Singer 301 in the background?
A featherweight 221 💗💗
LOL bags to go boxing 😂
I don’t know what I said but I’m sure it was something crazy 😂😂
These are so nice Marcy! beautiful the pattern and design too! Love to have a collab with you, we sent you an email make sure to check it out! 🥰🤩
