Lol, I did a paper on the Hight vs Highth. The gist was the latter is a modern colloquialism that rose from other measurements like lengTH and widTH. But Hight is Correct. The assignment was to see if we could take a mundane topic and make a full technically formatted research paper. Have to love those old AP classes and the random things you remember! I did an econ paper equating credit reporting agencies to Pinky and the Brain trying to take over the world. Teacher said it was the only title page that made him laugh because I printed a picture of the cartoon! Lol, thanks for the trip down memory lane!
Glad to see the “team” back together!!😁 Back (way back) in high school, I made a new dress almost every Saturday- I had 3 or 4 patterns that I swapped out parts of, sleeves from one, bodice from another, etc! It was a big help to have a head start because I hadn’t learned how to draft a pattern yet!! Have a great weekend, you two!!❤️
I swear, this is what they do on commercial patterns anyway! Every new release, I side eye a dress and think….I already have that pattern, they just changed the sleeves. Which is understandable, and of course convenient if you just want a new look without playing Dr Frankenstein. But I like sewing science 🧟♂️
Marcy - Your new video is so "Ebullient"😁You are "sew" creative! I love all of the wonderful ideas & suggestions! Please make a video on how you incorporated those scallops in the fabric into a neckline feature! Thank you for sharing your ideas and expertise! 👏
Your comment to changing up the pattern by piecing different ones together was actually a hack my late mother used to do all the time! Maybe it was the sleeves, maybe the bodice, whatever floated her boat @ the time & that’s what she did. There wasn’t anyone could tell her not to either! I’ve picked that up from my mother, & now I do the same w/ my sewing projects. So thank you for bringing that tip back to life. It was a chance that I was suggested this channel, but there’s some very familiar tips as well once I actually clicked on it & opened. Like Olaf from Frozen says: All Good things, All Good things. YOU my Dear; are amazing! Keep it up!😊
Hi from UK, just found you Marcy. Great tips you have given us all. Switching up patterns,, adding on, cutting off, using unusual fabric etc. Thanks so much. You and your husband are so cute together too. 😍
Yes to a scallop tutorial. And an explanation of negative ease - this year I'm working on learning ease, fit and tailoring. Ease can be negative... OK? OK, you've talked me into it - I'll try a half circle skirt. Yay for patterns from you! Much fun. Good seeing both of you Crazy Kids. We're doing OK, up here in the snowy north. About 2 weeks ago I finished my version of a 1951 weskit/vest for the Foundations Revealed competition. Teal blue fabric, hand quilted fish, machine quilted water (the theme of the competition was nature, so I 'depicted' my favorite in-city fishing spot). OH! And I brought home a Featherweight of my very own. In. Love. Lord, but that thing can stitch... - Cathy (&, accidently, Steve), Ottawa/Bytown/Pimisi

Sew glad you're back!!!! Bring the patterns on. I cannot wait. I think I've made Vogue 9253/1753 at least 7 times. The last time I mashed it with McCalls 8098 pants to make an unbelievable jumpsuit. Thank you sew much for the Vogue 1493 Origami Jacket. I love it. I had two of them ( of course). I just recently shared one with a dear friend. Glad you and Rob are back. So good to see you both!! We ❤️ you here in Miami 🌴 Thank you for all of the fabulous tips. I'm attending my step-daughters wedding April 2nd , the colors are Teal & Gold. I've been procrastinating because I have not been able to come up with anything, however your idea of blending patterns is a great idea and I think I have finally come up with a dress that I want to make for her wedding. Thank you so much!!
That’s EXCELLENT! I hope you sewed all weekend long! We’re going to a wedding next weekend and I did a little slam sewing of my own 💗 Congrats to your step daughter!
I would like one of everything please! Thanks so much for sharing your tip and tricks. This was so helpful because I need a dress for a wedding this summer. You inspire me!
Brilliant thank you for this tutorial loads of ideas here.... I have a few patterns but as of today still not jumped into making clothes... I have promised myself that I will this year .... Thanks again from a cold Wales in the UK
I love your videos. And I am a bit envious of your colourful wardrobe. I love jeans and seem to go for more blue and less color fabrics, after watching your videos I decided I need to change that.
We love see Rob….you are such ebullient fun couple!!! I still have an actually made garment from a pattern but I have plenty of patterns for when I am going to take that Leap 😊. Thank you for all your tips. They are extremely helpful. And I too want to make a garment out of an actual quilt. I’m probably going to start with a hoodie because I already do you have that pattern in my stash. AND!!!!!!!… have you always hidden the microphone in your hair?….because that is freaking awesome!!!!!
Jump on in, the water’s FINE! That first time you sew something wearable is all it takes 🥰 And yes, the hair is easiest for me! When I do theater that’s almost always where they hide it. There’s definitely plenty of curls to keep it locked in 🤣
Hold up, hold up, hold up! Do you have a pattern coming out? 🤯 I cannot wait for the details. I love what you do and how you do it. #FashionPassion #MarriageGoals
Yay! I'm glad your schedule was so full with that show you had been posting snipits about on Insta, but I'm even more glad you're back here again! Ok, video's over, time for more chatter. First, your hair looks AMAZING!! Got a little chop done? I guess the warmer weather in the south kinda makes it necessary. How about we just say FUN to describe fabric if we want to stop using the word "crazy?" About adding length to the back of the joggers pattern: so is that why sweatpants, leggings, and hosiery always ends up looking like my old pregnancy pants did? Rode waaaay up over the belly to meet "the girls" while the back waistband sank down to be at a normal height. SO annoying! HIII, ROB!! We've MISSED you!! Please make more guest appearances here, we love to see you! (I'm sure you didn't REALLY want to know how I am, but I'm suffering from a lack of SNOW here in PA. This has probably been our warmest winter in decades, and I am NOT ready for hot weather yet! Though, when it gets hot, I do tackle more sewing projects cuz my basement is sooooo much cooler than the rest of my townhouse. Hmm...) Okay, I love you both, thank you so very much for the entertainment, and take care! 🫂❤️🫂
We DO want to know, and I, being a summer baby, am agog at a lack of snow being a problem ! 😅 Hope you’re enjoying the sewing room whatever the weather. Yes…it’s easier to pop in on instagram, but, it’s so nice to be back here. And DOUBLE YES, this is why pants ride up in the front and down in the back, some of us need more fabric real estate to cover the curves in the back! Ps, Rob is getting allllllla these memos. I told him I’m going to have to rename the channel "the handmade HARRIELL” 🤣
@@handmadeharriells What? You want a life?? It is nice to see you whenever you are seen. During COVID with no performing is one thing so as we slowly claw our way back to normalcy of sorts, you guys are performing again. Your followers adore you no matter how often you post.
Marcy, I’ve been experimenting with the TDCO (Top Down, Center Out) method for fitting pants, with a lot of success! Have you heard of this? The crooked hem has an awesome series on this method of pants fitting. It came out in the summer issue of Threads.
Yes, I saw that threads article! They have the best stuff. I also love fitting from the top down on bodices with shoulders, I heard Kenneth King talk about that at a demo at Mood.

I've been procrastinating because I have not been able to come up with anything, however your idea of blending patterns is a great idea and I think I have finally come up with a dress that I want to make for her wedding. Thank you so much!!
That’s EXCELLENT! I hope you sewed all weekend long! We’re going to a wedding next weekend and I did a little slam sewing of my own 💗
Congrats to your step daughter!
Your videos always make me smile! Prints look so good on you. LOVE your style ❤. I have a few patterns I’m going to play around with now.
EXCELLENT! Play time with patterns is the best!
Love your creativity! Thank you ❤️
You’re most welcome!
I would like one of everything please! Thanks so much for sharing your tip and tricks. This was so helpful because I need a dress for a wedding this summer. You inspire me!
There’s a lot of wedding sewing going on in this thread! My advice: start early. Then you can make multiple looks 😜
@@handmadeharriells Thanks so much!
Love love the remakes on the flowered pattern! Y’all inspire me!
Thank you! Florals inspire me so much, I have to keep myself away from recreating a floral garment 😅
I just love you too guys together you’re just such a cute and beautiful couple need I say more I love and I enjoy watching the two of you❤️💖💕💗
Thank you Betty! He’s been too long away, I’m reading every comment to him to get Rob back more 😁😁
Brilliant thank you for this tutorial loads of ideas here.... I have a few patterns but as of today still not jumped into making clothes... I have promised myself that I will this year .... Thanks again from a cold Wales in the UK
Keep that promise! You won’t regret it 💗💗
I love your videos. And I am a bit envious of your colourful wardrobe. I love jeans and seem to go for more blue and less color fabrics, after watching your videos I decided I need to change that.
Manuela, I’m all about personal style, even if it’s all-black….but I LOVE to hear I’ve inspired some color 🥰🥰🥰
Love y'all so much! So adorable!
Thank you!
Great video. Thanks!
Fabulous ideas!!! I also like to change up patterns. Thank you, for all the great info.
That first time you sew something wearable is all it takes 🥰
And yes, the hair is easiest for me! When I do theater that’s almost always where they hide it. There’s definitely plenty of curls to keep it locked in 🤣
First time I have seen this channel, love this! You had me from "ebullient"! Subscribed!
😉
I love a good fifty cent word 🤗glad to have you here!
Such a fun video! You both have made my day!😊
We’re very glad to hear it!
Love your videos and always great to see Rob popping in 😊 x
I just found your channel and subbed. Love this! Great ideas!
So happy to have you here Delores!
The front opening tip is 🥳
the use of birthday party emoji vis a vis sewing tips is also 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳
Hold up, hold up, hold up! Do you have a pattern coming out? 🤯 I cannot wait for the details. I love what you do and how you do it. #FashionPassion #MarriageGoals
😁😁😁it’s slow going but hopefully soon!
And thank you 🥰. We love being silly together 💗
How about we just say FUN to describe fabric if we want to stop using the word "crazy?"
About adding length to the back of the joggers pattern: so is that why sweatpants, leggings, and hosiery always ends up looking like my old pregnancy pants did?
Hmm...)
Okay, I love you both, thank you so very much for the entertainment, and take care! 🫂❤️🫂
We DO want to know, and I, being a summer baby, am agog at a lack of snow being a problem ! 😅
Hope you’re enjoying the sewing room whatever the weather.
Loved seeing you ..great info...have a beautiful weekend!!
We did have a beautiful weekend…so beautiful I stepped away from electronics! Hope you did too 💗
Love your channel! Awesome content to make me get to the sewing machine 🤩
Yesssssss get to that machine!
Thanks sooo much for sharing your ideas! Absolutely loved this video!❤️❤️❤️
☺️☺️ do you have a hack for taking a full skirt and creating a skirt or wide leg pants??
I don’t…..but I’m intrigued to look into it!
Love it! More
Birdy
💗💗💗💗
Thanks! You’ve enticed me to go through my patterns and use some imagination. BTW…how do you organize your patterns?
Oooooo I gotta do a video on that…..
🔥this video is fantastic!
Thank you! 💗
Where have you been??? Nice to see you.
I’m starting to realize weekly videos + life are not the easiest equation 🫠
Love your channel 💕 I could have sworn I subscribed...well, now I have 🤗! I'm on board for more 🤌🏾🤌🏾🤌🏾
Well we’re glad to have you sewing with us!!
Your amazing. Such great tips.
💗thank you, Marisol!
Awesome thank you
I am well! I miss you two!!
Good to hear 💗💗💗
