I wish I'd researched this before buying my ring security cameras. They're good for motion detection and motion zones but 24 hour recording would be a good feature.
Interesting. My front door camera missed a very important event a couple of months ago: thieves stole a car's tires right in front of our house, and also, the thieves walked right to our front camera and yanked it off the wall... it was found a few feet away from our house... none of these events were recorded, even though the camera was active. From this video I infer that maybe some settings might be needed, I just installed it with whatever the defaults were at the time. It stills records our coming and going out of house, but those events and other small ones are never captured for some reason.
I recently purchased the 24/7 protection thing and it doesn’t record all the time, it only records when I’m watching in live view, can you help? It costed over $100 a year. I should of only bought one month and tried it first but I wasn’t thinking.
Is that with Nest (as Ring doesn't offer 24/7 recording)? If so, I'd suggest to contact their customer support sorry - I'm not too sure. I agree that the Nest Aware Plus plan should record 24/7 on compatible devices (e.g. the original Nest Hello Doorbell).
anyone know about the possibility of steaming camera on a pc, screen recording it but also using a auto clicker that reloads the page every 3-4 minutes so it doesn't just close
That should work fine, good point, i.e. mixing OBS with a browser plugin that auto refreshes. The only difficulty is whether the live stream will automatically start again (after a refresh) or if you also need to get a plugin that triggers the stream off again. I'll aim to play around with this idea soon
Thanks for the comment 🙂 Yep that's (now) required for the professional monitoring (previously it was $10/month), but 24/7 video cam recording still isn't supported I believe?
@@SmartHomePoint actually I am a Call center Agent Representative In ring Community support and our Plus Plan And Pro Plan Are meant to be 24 recording but sometimes our system is having a hardtime to record midnight And still under investigation
Nest has 24/7 recording but I like the way Ring videos look they also have great features. Ring should offer 24/7 especially when people are willing to pay extra for it. Isn’t Ring owned by Amazon? I would think they could afford the update.
Yes I agree, Nest has some nice features (including 24/7 recording), but if Ring offered it I think that would be the a killer feature for them. The rest of the Ring platform and features is great, it's just missing that one feature IMO.
Would you know if the ring camera once set to the motion detection frequency would record back to back? As in once the recording time limit has been reached will it be able to record another clip right after it with no break in between?
I've seen both happen. As in, sometimes I pretty much get back to back recordings (on my Doorbell Pro), whilst other times I lose 2-3 seconds between recordings. There's certainly not a massive cool down period though - you can usually follow conversations or activity between recordings in most cases.
Ring should offer 24/7 If they promised it and I didn’t put it out and you have cameras that you purchase based upon what they told you they should refund your money for the cameras. They sold you the cameras on a lie.
It's definitely frustrating, same as how Ring have promised HomeKit support and not delivered that. Ring have a big tech team, so you'd think they could deliver these features if they really wanted too.. 😕
@@SmartHomePoint if they would offer a FTP option to allow others to upload it themselves or 3rd party cloud options from other services. I would recommend RING to all my friends. I just think it's a joke now.

Yes, it's a pity that Ring don't offer this.

Ugh sorry to hear that, that's rubbish. Yes 24/7 support would have helped here for sure, Ring does miss too many motions for my liking.

I think you need the ring protect plan pro 20 dollars monthly or 200 dollars monthly for 24/7 professional Monitoring

“I don’t care about the customers” very accurate 😅
Haha thanks 😀 Yeah it seems to sum the situation up well enough 😕 🙈
thanks for the tips on cameras

Excellent
2023 no 24/7
Unfortunately 😔 So many of their competitors offer it, you'd think Ring would start too - but I doubt it.
