  • Ring have recently announced that they are increasing the price of the popular Ring Protect Basic subscription fee. Again. No this isn't deja vu: Ring hiked the price massively in 2022, and are hiking it AGAIN in March 2024.
These latest price increases mean that Ring's Protect Basic plan now costs double compared to just two years ago, and it's almost double in America too.
As a result, I discuss what options are open to you if you wanted to move off the Ring Protect Basic plan. This includes moving to a different Ring plan, switching to a more conventional CCTV/PoE system, or moving to one of Ring's rivals such as Eufy, Reolink or Annke.

THanks for the info. I got into Ring because I needed something quick. Ring was both quick and easy. That said, everybody is jacking up their prices and it's to the point where some subscriptions are going to have to go. I am going to be looking into a replacement for Ring and will check out your other vid's. 👍😉

The issue is that in the future these other companies may hike prices for cloud storage. I have a dvr box but there is no door bell options for this

Problem is Eufy is not secure. Not only is it a PLA mouthpiece but it’s encryption is also non existent
Ring security is still best with full house security

I just canceled both of my ring subscriptions this morning. I wake up and $100 has been taken from my account. I never opted for autopay. Plus, I just bought my second camera in December. Ring took it upon themselves to just go ahead and “bundle” both cameras together and charge me the full $100 only after having the new camera for 6 months. The cameras are sub par. They take 10 to 15 seconds to load. Once they finally load, the person that caused movement is gone. Just a waste of money. When I bought my first camera it was $20 a year. Now it’s $40 a year per camera. And if you decided to buy another one, they’ll bundle the payments before the year is up. They are crooks. No wonder the FTC just sued Ring. One year of service is all it took for me to toss these pieces crap away. Eff you Ring! Your cameras suck and you suck even more!!!
