To me, season 12 is one of the weaker seasons. That's when they brought in the campier elements. JR kept getting into ridiculous situations and ended up at the mercy of idiots. Long gone was the evil, intimidating JR. Everything became played for laughs, but in a cornpone sort of way. I didn't care for it at all.
Well, JR deserved this after all the things he put Sue Ellen through. She really did learn from the best, and everything. Cally, and Sue Ellen conspired to basically TRAP him into having another child by the way, and everything.
Cally was in an episode of Growing Pains where she danced with Mike at their school dance. The voice she used in that episode was actually more annoying than what she used on Dallas
This whole show was a little strange . I mean come to think of it, a whole family of father, mother , brother,, their wives and children, the neece living in one big house, just having separate bedrooms, allthough they had plenty of money to have a home each of their own ! Yes sure seemed to be a nice house, with a little too dark living room, but I wouldn't want to live with my parents and brothers in one house forever !
When the show first started, Bobby and JR lived in their own little cottages on Southfork with their wives. After episode 5, they used a different ranch for Southfork because the owners of the original property no longer wanted a film crew around. The second ranch didn't have the separate cottages on the property, so Bobby and JR were forced to move in with Jock and Miss Ellie in the ranch house. There was no on-screen explanation for this, though. It was an unusual living arrangement for sure, but the Ewings weren't your typical family either. They were oil tycoons who lived in a mansion. Might as well not let those extra bedrooms go to waste. As for the living room being too dark, that was true for the first five seasons. In season 6, the living room was wall papered and had light-shaded wood trim accents. This helped brighten it up some.
This was one of my FAVORITE scenes!
I loved when Sue Ellen got back at J.R.
JR's laugh priceless!
sue me: I liked Cally
