- Before you dislike or post a negative comment, this video was recorded mainly for Mauritian fans abroad who wanted to see the scenery of the Metro Express LRT's in Mauritius.
As up today, the fare between Port Louis and Rose Hill is Mauritian MUR30 (less than $1). The trip took exactly 20 minutes from P.louis to R.hill. This is an unedited full video, no edits have been made to crop, fast forward this video, use the youtube provided speed button to play this video faster or slower.

Thank you for sharing. I've been away for so long, I hardly recognise my little island. There are a few things that have not changed like the Sacré cœur de Beau-Bassin, that was nice to see! It's great that Mauritius has a metro - less pollution from the diesel buses. It is really heartbreaking about the oil leak. It made me cried. That ship I believe was illegally in Mauritian waters. I hope Mauritius files an international law suit against that Japanese company. It's a catastrophe! The marine lives, the ecosystem, the long-term effect on Mauritian economy and livelihood. It's great to see all the Mauritians united to stop the pollution. I hope this resolves quickly.

Metro goes from Port Louis to Rosehill. That's it. 22 millards. 10% already paid as bride to Jugnauth's Mafia. There is no much of a scenery apart from half built 🏠. It will be difficult for the government to continue the line to 4 Bornes and Curepipe. Dirty money has been restricted by the EU. A lot less to launder and for the government to get richer while the population gets poorer.

Je travaillais à l île Maurice en 1987 jusqu en 89 je suis choqué de voir l île Maurice de maintenant c est tellement différent, c est l évolution mais cela n a plus rien à voir avec l île Maurice que j ai tant aimée !

J'ai quitté Maurice en 1987 pour l'Australie. J'habite à Sydney. Je comprend ce que vous dîtes et je comprend que c'est de l'évolution. Auparavant c'était des paysages magnifiques et naturelles maintenant c'est que du béton. Je pense que L'île Maurice développe trop vite. Mais je suis tout à fait d'accord avec le métro - moins de pollution des autobus. L'Île Maurice me manque beaucoup.

Nice train but I see a lot of slums in Port Louis. Also seems there’s no town/house planning in the country, everyone builds houses anywhere they want, however they want..

@@joenroute9646 true i am a Mauritian and its a shame that our city looks like this. The urban planning in Mauritius is not good at all. But at least its starting to change now and i hope in the future it will look better
That is something very unique to Mauritius. People don't give a shit about the outside of their house, but if you go inside of people's houses, it is nice and well kept lol. Problem is that municipalities don't get much funding and also municipal laws don't force people to maintain their houses
