FIRST TO WATCHING Jordan Peele's US was a suspenseful experience. Lupita Nyong'o's performance was amazing and should have won an Oscar. She was so terrifying in this movie! This film was so original and Jordan Peele did another fantastic job as a director.

I thought get out was crazy until I saw this movie all of the main actor's performances as the evil twins was insane and the twist at the end was the best twist of any scary movie I ever seen . It also made me think about the evil side that we all have inside that we don't let get out coming out
After you saw the twist with Addie being the shadow that's when you realize but she was so freaked out about going back to the beach because she don't want to go back to the underground
THE BOY IS ALSO A SHADOW...THAST WHY AT THE END HE PUTS ON THE MASK..
Apparently Jordan says this isn't the case but it makes sense so maybe he's plotting a reveal in a sequel

@@re_tomori549 The boy was also switched, there is nothing underground that would burn his face, but it could have been burned in that house fire, then switched shortly after.
I always thought "I got five on it" had a scary movie vibe to the music. Its crazy that its basically the theme to this movie.

I love this movie and thanks for adding it to your list! First time I saw it, that was the most into a movie I'd been in a long time. Basically if it didn't give me nightmares I planned to go back and see it again. Thankfully it didn't.....so I did (3 more times). :)

Lupita Nyong'o didn't even get nominated for an Academy Award. The movie was snubbed, entirely. Renée Zellweger won best actress for JUDY.
I mean, scriptwise the movie absolutely sucks. But Lupita elevates the material, as per usual.

I figured out the twist shortly before it was revealed. The foreshadowing is that Lupidas doppelganger is the only one in the film that talks and when the parents find the shadow as a kid she won't talk and they assume it is from trauma.but.....

The song I got 5 on it that they sung in the car only way to the beach was used in the trailers but Jordan Peele had the song slowed downed

Reminds you of Twilight Zone you said... Jordan Peele has done a new version of the Twilight Zone series and he's the host in each episode like Rod Serling was in the original. Personally, I only found a couple eps that were really good... most were disappointing.

Don't worry about that little mistake at the end. We have been sort of conditioned to look for after credit scenes now so I don't blame you for thinking it was a possibility. Besides, it was entertaining lol.
I hate jump scares in principle, but especially when horror movies practically have nothing else to scare you. These deeper psychological tactics to scare people are a slow burn to develop but have a much more powerful and lasting effect.
She was a Tethered all along and her “shadow” was human all along, both their daughters and sons are half tethered, half human.

Fun stuff there. I think i watched it on Shudder about 2yrs ago (for the first time since the VHS days). Held up pretty well. Then i went down a rabbit hole of The Stuff, Dlomeball Bowlerama, Chopping Mall.....you know how these rabbit holes branch out. But i guess if the findings in those rabbot holes are entertaining it is all good.
Us was so super creepy and original. So messed up and a great watch.
I was a kid of the 80s, and I saw it one night when it was playing very late and I was very alone. Still makes me smile to see all those tapes around the TV at the beginning.
And I was a real Troma fan...!
Jordan Peele added so much to this film (eg. the boy with the mask and the fake tuxedo shirt - masks and masking).
@@MrUndersolo i love revisiting stuff from the 80s. Been putting up reviews/revisits on my channel. A mix of different stuff, but lately i have gone back further to the 60s with some of the Hammer films.
My list of films to make videos about is getting long though. I need to get to it, churn out a good chunk to schedule out.

The two kids are half shadow cause the mama is the shadow lol. When first seen trailer for this back in day couldn't wait for this. Had to watch every video on this on RUclips and even looking up videos on doppelganger and the shadow lol. Found that drew Barrymore movie doppelganger. That was weird like this but only one shadow not multiple. In trailer made it look like it was just them but found out it was everyone. Yeah Jordan said he got this idea from that twilight zone episode lol plus a thing he had as a kid if you saw yourself but your other self is smiling at you. Reminds me of hereditary when Peter seen his reflection and its smiling at him lol. Freaky

I really liked this movie I think Get Out is more thematically rich but Us has very creepy and anonymous feel to it my only issue with this movie is the way the reveal the twist, if Peele would have left that to audience that is she a copy or duplicate and the movie ended the same way Jason stare at Addie but without flash back explaining the twist before fading away she clicks one last time and then fade to black that would be such a great debate to have in community same as the ending of The Shinning when camera zoom into Jack's photo in the Hotel

I really enjoyed this film. It’s eerie and the doubles’s mythology re: The hands across America reference was a stroke of genius. When I saw this for the first time I missed most of the “hints” scattered throughout the movie. The look that the mother gave her son at the end of the film suggested that the mother wasn’t the only “double” who made it out from the underground levels.

I did as well but mostly because it was poorly written and not well thought out. Lots of plot holes and things that make no sense. Plus, Jordan Peele is a sh*tty human being.
@@separator94 Yeah, he really is. There's a lot of people who have worked with him saying they'll never work with him again. That he treats everyone really poorly. Which is funny because he's not even that successful. He's made three films and their quality continues to plummet. 'Us' didn't even make sense and is full of plot holes.
