This episode seems so light hearted because of the ludicrous characters but it really airs the dirty laundry of this profoundly disfunctional family, one that even worse is trapped in a kind of sci-fi nightmare. Watching Beth try to pour wine with violently trembling hands is to me the punctuation mark on the whole plot.
Fun Easter egg, the rock that Rick put in the trash can are the same rocks that he picked up a few episodes earlier in Mortynight Run if you go back to that episode and look at one of the rocks he loads into his space ship you can see a pink blob. That's were the parasites came from.

One theory is that we are not always watching the same "Rick & Morty" due to parallel dimensions. Therefore Mr. Poopy B*tthole could be a regular character in this particular dimension.

Then it hits Beth like a ton of bricks as she's shaking like crazy trying to pour that glass of wine. Then, as if that wasn't bad enough, the end credit scene tugs your heart strings as Mr. Poopybutthole just tells Beth that he's sorry that she didn't have any bad memories of him.
There are a lot of good Rick & Morty episodes, but IMO this is hands down the best one. It's so creative, all the characters they came up with, all the weird stories and then it culminates in a great indoor shootout. Perfect episode. And you even cut one of the best jokes, the "Nintendo, give me free stuff" joke. XD Anyway, and that's the waaaaay the news goes.

But overall I’d have to give it to either Rixty Minutes(season 1 episode 8) because of the improv humor combined with the amazing ending proving Beth and Jerry’s relationship is true and pure and transcends multiple realities OR the blitz and chits/fart episode because of a few emotional moments, the great B plot where Jerry understands his place in the universe, and the amazing musical number.
This is one of my personal top episodes. It was fun and interesting seeing all the unique characters and cutaway gags. And it also had an interesting commentary on the nature of relationships; which still makes sense within the context of the episode because I'm sure the parasites wouldn't want to give you a reason to be rid of them. There's a sort of comedy that's... outrageous/sad humor where you laugh BECAUSE it's such an awful situation. It's a really tricky target to hit, it's very easy for writers to come off as callous or mean, but the Rick & Morty writers manage to nail it often. Man. All the love, folks.
Remember when morty killed fart? When morty heads back to the ship rick is loading up some rocks. Rick throws away those same rocks away in the beginning of the episode.

The one flaw with this episode is that Rick should have written the names of the family on the wall instead of just the number of people... that way there would be no question who the right people were when it came time to account for them.
