  • When 911 put out the call for Atlanta officers to quell a gunfight, that alert drew specially trained tactical field operators.
These are officers who are trained on the AR-15 rifle. But the weaponry is just part of the training, says Lt. A C Senzer.
The gunplay occurred just after noon Wednesday. It was of a large enough scale that each zone was instructed to send their tactical officers. And they came from all over the city. It is what the lieutenant says they train for.
He was pleased they got their quickly and stabilized a volatile situation with mothers and children running to safety.
Currently, there are more than sixty officers who have made the squad. APD is looking to increase that number.

MARKSMAN108 it's because their is so much fucking crime these departments are having to hire so many and a lot aren't getting proper training and some just aren't as smart as they should be.. more crime= less qualifications to join the force.. this thug rap life culture in areas like that have crime rates beyond comprehension..

@@jollycooperator2876 You would honestly think thats how it is, but it's not. They did an audit this year, 2021, that showed APD hires less than 2% of it's applicants. its extremely competitive.

While it does concern me that police depts will be heavily armed now , boosting the ego to new heights of superiority. I'm sure if I was close to a situation , I would be more than happy to see police with firepower to bring things to a calm surrounding. I'm fine with police having the best equipment possible, it's that 1% that give police a bad rap.

Most thoughtful response i've ever seen. Someone who doesn't completely agree with it, but also sees the good in it.

No blood control for victims. They will hand cuff and let them bleed out.

Roland moreno which victims are you talking about? The potential victims, such as bystanders and residents that live in the housing complex, where idiots were having a gun battle or the victims that were shot by police? Oh that’s right! Not a single shot was fired off by the police. But let’s ignore the fact that 100+ rounds were fired off by little boys with beef just so you can push your own agenda/vendetta against cops.. you’re not a part of the solution so you must be a part of the problem. GTFOH

When they get in a situation to shoot out with bad guys they are not going to help stop the bleeding. Or in the project to help bystanders. Hand cuff with 100 rounds in someone I don’t think he or she going anywhere. I see it all the time.

@@rolandmoreno3526 No idea where you got that information from, but it's incredibly incorrect. Police officers are trained to pull the wounded out of the area while their partners cover them. After that officer gets the wounded to safety, he will render aid on the spot.
