1st off, he pronounces Ponce de Leon wrong. Atlantans don't pronounce it the Spanish way, it's Ponce duh Lee on. Home to Murder Kroger and turning into a vapid wasteland of overpriced hipster shops. They're going to ruin the Clermont by turning it into 'luxury' apartments. And Dr. Dax isn't from Atlanta, he moved here, like most people. There are very few of us natives. It's frustrating when the media finds people who aren't natives but those who move to a place and try to co-op it into their vision and not really the truth. They didn't mention that they wanted to tear the Fox down. This is a city that believes it's own hype and destroys its history.
Steve Stussey THANK YOU. Every word is more true than the one before. It's going downhill more and more every single day. Gentrification is killing my home.
Exactly. Grew up in Atlanta, and my parents have been urban planners in the city for their entire careers working with people like Kwanza Hall and Shirley Franklin to help the city rise from what it was back in the 80's...and whoever says it's not still segregated is ignorant, most likely white and not from here.
Dude I was so pissed that they didn't show murder Kroger and the drainbow homless hippie holes. There is so much more to atl. There is the good, the bad, and the ugly. Truly such an interesting place. Wish it was represented better
Murder kroger is gone, used to shop there when I was at GSU. Development in ATL along the beltline has skyrocketed rent, I have never seen anything like this before. The West Side is next on the gentrification list, idk if yall heard about that park that they are turning the quarry into..

No one in Atlanta pronounces Ponce correctly.
"Trap evolved from Crunk music....Crunk Evolved from early 90's Memphis rap...Memphis rap evolved from 80's Gangsta Hip-Hop" - Sci Flyy
I miss ATL, so much more to it than this vid obviously. Its the most soulful place I've ever lived. Claremont Lounge is where strippers go to die and its wonderful.
I never went to that trash club lol give me the old Jazzy T's before it closed! I was young going to the Gate but had bread to get into the strip club young
"I am not religious." 18:08

THIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Murder kroger is gone, used to shop there when I was at GSU. Development in ATL along the beltline has skyrocketed rent, I have never seen anything like this before. The West Side is next on the gentrification list, idk if yall heard about that park that they are turning the quarry into..
What about the immigrant community in Clarkston dubbed the Eli's island of the south, how about majestic it's been there since 1928 and has good food or the hip culture of highland and Virginia avenue. Oh cammon you know noth no about ponce deleon
+Weli Hassan the food at the majestic is trash.

Agreed!
How exactly did sherman help Atlanta buy destroying their economy and infrastructure? (Tearing up railroad tracks and burning down plantations)

After Atlanta was left in ruins after the Civil War ended, it began to rebuild to become like its Northern counterparts. In other words, more modern.
+Kaka Man what?
+Kaka Man why? you looking for a place to get down
I agree, that was some horse crap.
It should also be mentioned that the eastern segment of Ponce is one of Atlanta's many immigrant neighborhoods with a large Desi population.
Zaytoven looks like Usher’s lil bro 😂
Do Cape Town !
"that was the first successful boycott that had ever taken place in our country." Ever heard of taxation without representation?
Aye Vice is showing a piece of Atlanta history! Respect 🙌
Mad props, indeed. I learned a lot.👊✊✌
Thanks to this video I have learned nothing about Atlanta.
+Lucifer You learned not to go there.
Who else thinks that Blondie 12:20 speaks kinda like Jay Leno?
I just about threw my damn phone when he interviewed Blondie...
😂😂😂😂😊
Atlanta is the first city in the US to have housing projects. I miss the old Atlanta. Look up a map of Atlanta from 1903 an if you don’t see the street you grew up on or a major street near you, you’re not from Atlanta.
RIP DR MLK
Blondie looks like she belongs on Jabba the Hut's ship
Right... She looks hella rough!
🤣🤣🤣
“If you come together on a common cause, you can be forceful..”
While Vice is the single most honest and wonderful source of news and documentaries, I'm blown away with how horribly lacking this depiction of Atlanta is.
I like how he says talks up trap "music", then says it was just beats made out of laziness in 5 mins. At least he is honest, suckers buy anything.
That's his lazy ass beats trap music serious business and the whole rap want this sound we lit
First of all young man, its “Mr. Abernathy” & “Dr. King....#Respect
Dude lookin like he's steady smelling something stanky. Like a nasty fart throughout the whole video.
Glad Vice came down to see us in the A..🙌
that's dwn!
Shootings every hr in Atlanta will have you thinking it's the 4th of July every day.
Dark Souls PC I know but after a while it’s gets old it’s just an everyday thing

Forever I Love Atlanta #TheJewelOfTheSouth
God bless Mr. Abernathy and Mr king for doing the lords work 💯✊
As a cultured white boy from Massachusetts, when I think of ATL, I think of straight up genuine flavor and one in a million artists that stay changing the game.
I liked this report. Born and raised here and this city is full of good people of all colors. The history is something to be proud of.
Gotta love Atlanta. Thats where I grew up👍. Ever one in America should learn from its history.
Having lived in the ATL (SWAT) for 16 years. I can say that very few people were willing to admit that gentrification often hurts working class black homeowners, "Kwansa Hall".
"Some plantations"? Sherman burned down EVERY BUILDING IN THE CITY and bent the railroad tracks around the lamp posts for the sake of rubbing it in. Old 4th Ward is one of the hippest, cleanest, on-the-rise neighborhoods in Atlanta. Come visit me along Hollowell Parkway (formerly Bankhead Highway) if you want to see the city.
