  • I have a lot of vids about mowing stripes in grass. I use a Toro Lawn Striper or my DIY solution:
    Links here:
    • How To Mow Lawn Stripe...
    • Lawn Striping|How To M...
The real reason we mow stripes like this is so we can dominate the neighbors!
In this video, I show you the way I almost always stripe my lawn. It's just a slight variation using single wide, then double wide stripes. This creates an added detail that makes the striping pop a bit as someone drives by - so they know they are dominated.

You have completely turned my yard around through watching your videos. The best in my neighborhood! Full domination, as my neighbors constantly comment on it. My wife says I'm obsessed, and I tend to agree. I never really cared about my yard but now I'm constantly in it. Mowing the double fat single stripes this weekend!

Tim Ivers me too my wife says I'm obsessed too and this week after I had finished cutting the grass (double passes with sun direction considered) somebody asked me if it was real grass or artificial !!! The best compliment ever. I love it when people walk by my house and comment on the lawn when they don't realise I'm listening . I'm dominating.m and loving it

I guess I don't really see the attraction. I prefer the rear discharge deck for my riding mower that leaves a very small and uniform layer of clippings, so that you can't even see where the mower ran. And unlike a modern side-discharge I can run all sorts of crazy patterns and not leave an obvious tack of where I have been. Plus I can edge up to obstacle on both sides and not catch a chute.

I am going to try this my next lawn mowing. I am trying to dominate my neighbors yard. My neighbor across the street does Lawns for a living and I think it would be really funny if my lawn looks a lot nicer than his. Thanks for the tips.

Two videos in and I love your work. Awesome what you can do with a lawn. In the beginning of this one it looks as if your yard has a checker pattern to it underneath. Thinking previous video. I'm sure ill find it lol. But above all I'd love to see you upscale this to a field and tractor.

I can't mow a straight line to save my life. Even when I make my fist pass along the side walk, by the fourth or fifth pass it gets wavy (amateur I guess). So now I start my first cut along the curves of my mulched and planted bed in front of the house and follow through to the street, giving the stripe the look of waves hitting a shoreline. Gets a lot of compliments from the neighbors. 😁

If your that concerned about "stripes" being perfect, get a old school riding reel mower with nice heavy rollers on back.

3653john yes, and actually a slope will make the stripes look even better. Any extra angle created makes things look more defined.
