You have stoked the fires of my love of lawns! Growing up I always was the one to cut the grass and help my dad. Now that I have my own home, and my kids are slightly older, I can spend time out there making it look better each year! I have really come to enjoy the Lawn Care channels here on you tube! you were my first ever channel I subscribed to, ever! Keep up the great work!!
J Lo I used 22 pucks, 22” angle iron, five 4” L brackets, 1/2” tubing (axle), 3/8” threaded rod (goes through the axle), nuts, bolts, and washers. On the left end of the threaded rod you can’t use a nut because it continually tightens with rotation. I drilled holes in the rod and used “COVID Cotter Pins” (bent nails...for now). My axle is split in the middle so that the two halves of the roller can rotate in opposite directions while turning.
@@jlo9231 you can make one out of black plumbing pipe. You can usually get it cut at home depot throw some lead shot or sand in there and put end caps on it. It works great but not for backing up like Ryan said in the video.
These RUclips adds are just copy paste texts all hyping products you can find in a dollar store or garage sale. How does anyone think some nasa engineers designed a 1 foot miracle air conditioner that can cool any room with 5 ounces of water. Just because you add epic music to the background doesn't mean people want your worthless 3 dollar piece of plastic you cant sell on Amazon
Another great video! I love mine and highly recommend pulling the trigger on this. Takes your lawn up another notch. One tip I’ll share- pour your sand on a tarp and dry it out. Makes filling much easier.
Been using the Toro behind my Honda for years. I tossed the bracket. Instead, I used a stainless steel eyelet into the back of the mower. Then a large carabiner to attach the striper. Works like a champ. 👍🏼
This is the first year in the four years since I bought my house that my grass is nice enough to start showing stripes without extra tools. I did one treatment of Tenacity about a month ago and it's helped my poor neglected weed field. It's also amazing what a sharp mower blade and cutting twice a week can do for a lawn. I own a reel mower I bought 10 years ago at my old place, but my lawn is so incredibly uneven it would be brutal. Once my lawn has thickened up a bit, I'll take on some leveling and eventually get to use it agin.. One step at a time!
I’ve been waiting to buy a striping kit but I finally pulled the trigger to support you and your business. Can’t wait to get some stripes rollin and make the neighbors jealous!
I've always wondered how they got the patterns onto the lawn....indeed, it was a mystery to me, NOW I KNOW! I have liked & subscribed to your channel. EXCELLENT tutorial! One day when I have a larger FLAT lawn I will definitely remember your tips & advice. Thanks for sharing!
I get a slight strip with my snapper but if I got one of those my neighbors would really hate me. I live next to my mother and our combined yards is almost 400 ft long so I already have great presentation from the street. Thanks for showing us this tool add on Ryan. Good job with your lawn so far this year.
Ordered the Lawn Stryper here on the 16th and I’m striping today. Thanks Ryan for having this available. I’ve considered building my own from one of the many options I seen on RUclips but this is the way to go IMHO. As you said, it’s so easy to install and remove as needed, that alone was worth the price paid. After being on the “notify list” from big box store for over a month I jumped right on your link ASAP. 👍👍 Wife is happy too. Go Packers!
Looks like the easiest kit to attach yet! You have me hooked on my earthwise 7 blade reel mower. I created a DIY striper and it is laying down fantastic stripes. Replanted entire yard this year following your great videos.
I have to say you lay out the info very well for home owners to understand the why in what us commercial guys and Gals do. Not all but the good ones. Not sure if you have done a video on the height of the grass? If you water or don't water your lawn. That is a huge difference in cutting heights.
striped grass makes me drool. It is the professional touch to a great landscape. I have had riders that have had the rollers and although heavy they are super effective. Thank you for posting this. I will likely be buying a few for my push mowers
Just ordered this system!! Great that I don't need to drill any holes or remove the already installed parts. I had put in an inquiry with another highly touted company I will leave nameless months ago and hadn't heard anything back. Tired of waiting around. Hoping my results look half as good as this video!
Dude, fantastic job! I envy your yard. My wife and I bought our house 2 years ago, and we've been renovating our bermuda lawn ever since. We live in SC. Your videos are helping a lot! Keep it up!
I bought this roller and I'm super impressed with the quality and how well it worked. Installed on my old John Deere 14SB with no problems. Very impressed!
I'm only 11 and I've been into mowing since I was like 9 but since i dont have the grass like yours i cant make the light and dark spots but I can do the square pattern tho which looks amazing. Also I've been thinking abt doing a local lawnmowing business sort of but hopefully its possible mowing is so fun✌😉🙏
Contemplating on buying this, or building my own after I watched your other video on the DYI striper. Its always nice to see something you made, do work. This is priced very fairly for someone who is not interested in putting together their own. Great video!!
I found this was much more sturdy and easier to back up than my other system but it all depends on how much work you want to put into it. Thanks for watching!
Ryan- ordered the kit on Sunday and just got it (Friday). I’ve been waiting to pull the trigger on one for a bit. They have been sold out everywhere and the prices where through the roof. It was awesome to see your video ( and all the others of course) on this and I’m very pleased at the price and the fast shipping. Look g forward to this weekends mow! Keep up the GREAT content. I really enjoy your videos and all the knowledge that come with them!
I wasn’t sure where to give you a shout out. My wife bought me the lawn Stryper for Father’s Day (using your link). I used it today; other than some minor tweaking during set up and getting used to having the bar attached it was great! My double wide stripes look awesome! Noob tip: maybe don’t use play sand to fill up the roller. It works but because it’s kind of moist it takes awhile to fill because it clogs the funnel. Also, be careful of your angle as the hook is severe which means it’s secure but a little annoying to get on and off when I’m doing my borders. Thanks for all the time you spend on the channel. Next up is a Ryan Knorr ‘let there be stripes’ shirt! Preesh!
I really love the content of your videos. As a first time home owner, I never needed to know how to maintain a decent looking yard. After subbing to your channel, my neighbors are now asking me for advice on how to improve their turf. Very informative with no gimmicky sales crap. Thanks Ryan from mpls, mn. Skol Vikes!
Just got one from your site. Been looking at the the Toro version of this and had no idea a company made the same without the Toro name attached. I only held off buying before because I didn't know how easy it was to take off of the mower. Your demo showed how easy it was. Glad to support you.
@@ryanknorrlawncare BTW, I recently bought one of your shirts and wore it to the grocery store. Some guy walks up to me and says I love his channel. So then he asked me where he could purchase one. I had to show him on my phone.
Great video! Kinda liking this lawn stripping kit more than big league lawn's stripping kit. This one looks far more easier to assemble and detach from my Honda! :)
Another great video. I wish you would have covered bagging with the stripper. I’m assuming the rotary mower has room for the bag with the striper attached to the rear.
Couldnt believe it when you said Milwaukee wi. Your vid randomly popped up because I was looking up lawn stuff. I gotta check out that company, am from there as well. Go pack go!
Just what I have been looking for. I looked at Big League lawn rollers, but they didn't have one that fit my Craftsmen mower. The Lawn Stryper looks pretty much like a universal fit system. Will be ordering one.
I mow north east seacoast all cold season grass with an exmark navigator which stripes very nicely. Didn't know there were roller kits. we cut 2.5 and move to 3 in hot summer. Havent never cut below 2.5 is 3/4 " turf?
My Toro Timemaster stripes fine without the additional 'Striping system.' You just need the right type of grass and a healthy lawn. Good advice about longer cuts for more effectiveness though. Cool vid, Ryan.
Brilliant video - thank you! Would love one of these. I'm in Scotland. 🏴 Any suggestions what I can attach to my Hayter Spirit 41 self propelled (Does have a roller but would like it to heavier💪).
Ryan, another great video. I have a TORO Super Recycler, therefore, have the TORO kit available to me. But I do A LOT of backing up with the mower. I've heard that the TORO kit, which, as you said, is like the one you showed for the Honda... doesn't back up well. What are your experiences with yours?
I don't have any problems with it but you sort of have to get used to backing up straight or almost backing up as you would a trailer. This is light enough to just do a turn and I don't really back up much with it at all

Can you hook up the lawn stryper to a manual reel mower?
Just ordered one.. I'll give it a shot!
It says it fits most mowers. I have a older John Deere 14 SB. Would this kit work for it?
Just ordered it
I just ordered one, also the link to my friend she wants one too.

Yesterday I used my DIY roller for the first time. It worked out well. It’s a Canadian Roller! I drilled a hole through 22 hockey pucks.
yep trying to think of a way to make it myself also on the cheap.

Think you over analyzed how much sand goes into a container. Common sense goes a long away. Unfortunately, it still is in short supply.

I got this same striping kit for Christmas last year. It really makes my yard stand out in the neighborhood 😀

I grew up in Green Bay, now I’m mowing St Aug in Dallas. I sure miss putting nice stripes in my parents cool season lawn
