When the neighbor behind me (a business) hired someone to clean up the jungle behind their property I looked over the fence to see. There was a man on a bushwhacker plowing into the jungle in the hot sun. Asking which of the drinks I had to give he chose and I brought him a big glass of sweet tea with ice. He could just toss the patio glass back over the fence when he was done. I guess none of these folks are from the south.😊

So many neighbors stop by and remark how the “yards are getting out of control,” and worry about the fire hydrants being covered up, but nobody wants to lift a finger. I’ve mowed next door neighbors yards and just did it. They were so grateful for the help.

    • @Spamhard
      @Spamhard 5 месяцев назад +17

Tbf, in this instance, it seems like a lot of the neighbours are elderly. Doing a yard like this, even as a group, would be A LOT for them to handle. We don't know what their health is like, could very well have disabilities or conditions that prevent them from doing too much. One lady mentioned she wanted to get the mower to it but that needed way more work than just a mow haha.

Back in 2016 I ruptured my Achilles and had to wear a cast for 6 weeks and then a boot for another month. Well where I live in the spring the grass will grow about half a foot per week. Well here I am in a cast and on crutches and I get a knock on the door and its the police(they do code enforcement where I live). They tell me I have like 5 days to get the lawn mowed or I'm getting a ticket. Can't remember how much now but it wasn't cheap. The cops see me on crutches and couldn't care less. Said that isn't their problem but someone had called them cause my grass was to tall and I had to get it done. Well, none of the lawn services would even come to my house within the next week and they all said they wouldn't do it anyway unless I signed up for weekly service the rest of the year. Well my wife was complaining about this to another lady while she was out and it happens that she lived around the corner from us and she got her husband to come mow, for $20 each time.

@@AchillesOnYT Jesus didn't say shit. He ain't real. Some rich and powerful people started writing a book nearly 2000 years ago, because they figured out a way to suppress the poorer and uneducated people(most of them couldn't even read latin and certainly couldn't afford the cost of a Bible at the equivalent of today's $10,000 or $20,000) by fooling them to believe that if they didn't do what "God" (which in this case was themselves) said they should do, they would go to a place of eternal suffering when they died. The church had then figured out a way to steal these peoples money and land by claiming taxes and donations and the church became the richest and most powerful force that even had kings and queens under their spell. They started wars in the name of their so called "God" to increase their wealth and influence. Luckily some people evolved and found out that it was all a trick which only benefitted a few people, like Kent Hovind and Kenneth Copeland.
Can you tell me how Jesus, who funny enough was portrayed as a white man in the Middle East, came to meet men named peter, simon, james, john, thomas, andrew and philip near the sea of galilee, which is in Israel and not common isralian names? Maybe because the church was fitting the story to their needs so that it was easier to fool people into believing the nonsence.

I still had some drawbacks. Weed Whackers were still relatively new in the early-to-mid-1970s. Just about all were corded. Gasoline powered Weed Whackers and its competitors were just starting to come out and were very expensive. My family home did not have outside electrical outlets. I had to constantly go back inside the house and unplug the electrical cord and move it over to the next room.
The Weed Whacker did not have the automatic dispensing feature. I was constantly stopping to unwind the cap and let out fresh plastic line. That said, it did make the job of cutting grass easier on me except for the constant moving of the electrical cord and manually unwinding plastic line.

When doing the after pics take them on phone 2 while viewing the picture of the same spot taken on phone 1 earlier. This would make line up super easy. You would have to move around till reference points like the gutter and corner of the house looked good. Another simple thing that would speed it up even more would be have sidewalk chalk and make a small mark where you stood, etc etc. Maybe you didn't actually want an answer but LOL I wanted to solve it once you asked.

It puts in a sense of order and the sidewalks are being visually reconnected to the rest of the area. Liked your shoveled solution to the section with no curb. A well done crisis trim on the hedge, with wasps threatening. 37:21, as a point of humor, the sidewalk strip, not yet mowed, is now contrasted with the mown section of lawn. Tucker, great job! That was a big yard, tall grass, and lots of edging. You had a lot of neighbor interaction this week. The pound cake, the offer to pay you, and lots of appreciation. You made a lot of the neighbors happy! You showed them all that there still are good people in the world! You are a very good example of this!
I don’t know how you dispose of the clippings, but glad to see you pick it up and not leave it in the yard; it looks so much nicer not left. The first time you said “work smart, not hard” and moved your tarp to spot of shrub trimming, I said now that was smart! 😄

So thankful for what you do and that I found your channel. I mowed my veteran neighbors yard for years. We moved recently and I was worried if anyone would take up the task. Thankfully a veteran bought our old house and he said he would keep helping them out. So thankful!!!

Mowing and taking pride in your yard is so satisfying. I have loved to mow since I was 9-10 years old! 😁❤

Me too. Nothing gave me more satisfaction than my lawn after mowing it. Unfortunately I am unable to do it myself anymore but I still enjoy seeing it after my sons clean the lawn up!

I'm 71. When I was a kid we didn't have any power tools. I'm so jealous!
Wish I"d thought of scraping off sidewalk weeds with a shovel; we used a dandelion weeder.
Oh and Dad sent us over to some neighbors once in a while who needed help.

You made the neighborhood a better place. I never understand how the property owners or the banks think that a rundown place will receive a second look.

Especially when it's a situation where someone has gone into long-term care or had a sudden disability or a death and literally lawn care is the last thing on their list. I dream of the time when we noticed something was off with the neighbor and go and find out what's up and help them.

@@rebeccaocker4506 Yes they all said they cared about the tall grass around the fire hydrant, but not one of them taken time to cut that bit to keep the blocks safe..... Even if they only cut by the fire hydrant to save there dang home!

The flippers bought my old neighbor's house when he passed away. They ripped up all of his prize hybrid roses& plants. I came home from work and everything was gone. I would've rescued some had I'd known. The place looked sterile. 🙁

You're doing a great thing for these neighborhoods. It's a shame that the neighbors won't step up and help. I guess that some of it may be the fear of getting sued if something happens.

You made this place look soooo good, Lots of hard work "LOTS". One thing, when someone offers you a blessing (of some money) next time think about taking it even though you are not doing it for the money, you are keeping that person from receiving their blessing. You can always put it back into your wonderful actions of being able to bless someone else. It can help with broken equiptment parts, gas for your truck or, equiptment and so many more things that will now bless you. That is how someone that offers you a gift now becomes a blessing for them, knowing the wonderful things you do with a very kind heart. Thank you, God bless and keep you safe.
