- This is a short video of me setting up my new 15hp Mud-Skipper Surface Drive kit and the first try. I got the boat from my boss, it sat under a tree for many years. I decided to go grab it and bring it back to life! It has been real fun so far. There will be more Jon Boat fishing and build videos coming.

Would a bit of steamlining on the front of the transfer case help with speed? Just being a flat box annoys me, lol

Are you able to run up in shallow rivers with this . I’m thinking this might be a cheaper alternative to jet drives.

Is your clutch that turns the prop disengaging at idle? I am having problems with mine not disengaging with the predator 459.
Mine wasn't at first. But after a few break-in trips and turning the idle down a little bit, it now disengages.

@@dingalsbe88 picked one up friday with a 20hp honda motor put it on my 1750 then saturday went and picked up a 1546 tracker looking for another motor for it now
they say to ground the battery lead to one of the engine mount bolts.
yeah, but the bolts on this kit are WAY bigger than the eyelet on the power cable they supplied. It's working pretty good where I put it, for now.

Did you have to adjust skeg any for tracking straight?
@@bp30656 I have not had to mess with it... if you trim it out good it tracks nice and straight.
How long did it take for u to get ahold of it after ordering it?
it came pretty quickly, 5 days maybe... just email them, they are very responsive.

Man we have a predator 459 with the same drive on a 1436. And it feels so sluggish even with one person Any suggestions?
that's probably too big of a boat for that motor.
I had a 1542 boat with swamp runner 420 was getting 15 up river and 18 down

@@dingalsbe88after using it for the last few months what’s your thoughts?
@@turtsable my thoughts are that it is time fore some carb and exhaust mods. I'd like to run the exhaust straight out the back so its not so loud coming out at a 90 right into my ears.... and jet the carb for some more power.. neither are necessary though.. its a blast to jam up the river in such shallow waters.. it's a ton of fun and turns a lot of heads.
