There is scope for Dental Degrees for sure, this field is growing daily. Over the next century our need for Dentists will continue to grow, whether this is people wanting to have nicer smiles through Invisalign or even the global sugar consumption increasing. There is huge scope!
You’re going to face people in your life that don’t agree with your choices or thoughts, but that’s one of the greatest things about this world. It would be a very boring place without opinions, push for what you want to do, and work hard to be able justify and explain your thoughts and reasons to those you want to. 👍🏾
Best to ask your colleges or other people in your field that know about Dentistry. One of the greatest things that people in STEM “should” understand is we don’t know it all. Sometimes it’s best to ask the professionals 👍🏾👍🏾
In the UK, Dentists are also known as Doctors... With pay, it ranges, some can go on to do Max Fax work or Aesthetics which pay extraordinary amounts, but really it depends on what you enjoy the most :)

Don't listen to them! It's your own future and you can control it! Let them and go for it and let them see how successful you will be :)
