I think I chose this major is because I love how you work with yourself. Besides the dentist, you’re kind of your own boss. You work you schedule without people having to tell you what to do. It’s a very independent position and I love it. This video was cool
Yes! Loved this comment! Totally great things to mention! Thanks for watching :)
I have worked with Dental hygienists that dictate their schedule and choose how long to schedule appointments, have the freedom to order whatever supplies they need or prefer (pink gloves, different mask colors, etc). But, I have also worked with Dental Hygienists that are treated like dental assistants, which isn't bad but they are pulled to help assist the Dr. etc.
This is what I love about any profession. The independence...leave me alone and let me do my job!
im out im leaving
As a student dental hygienist with no dental experience whatsoever, this was great to watch! Thank you!!
Thank you so much for commenting kind! Sending you positive vibes on your dental hygiene journey!
Mam i goning to start my dental hyginiest journey in india this year i m gald to see your dental hyginiest video i will first time a video of dental hyginiest on youtube like you do make video regularly so i cam your videos

Tatiana Giraldo Hey, so when applying to college what major do you choose if you want to be a dental hygienist! I’m in high school ( voc ) and I’m in the dental assisting program but I don’t know what to do as far as college majors.
I've been a Dental Hygienist for 7 years, and this video is pretty accurate to what I do. She works in a nicer office. Some offices are older, and the rooms are smaller, and there's no TV, and no window.
i know this is a personal question but how much do you make yearly
İs that hard ?
Do you have a any idea how much salary for somebody who don’t have any experience and its first years to starting dental hygienist?
I JUST PASSED MY CLINICAL BOARDS TODAY 🙌🙌♥️♥️🤓🤓🦷🦷🦷🦷🦷🦷
Congrats!!!!!
@@ginnetteserrano7978 thank you!!!
Congrats :)
Was it hard?!
@@sushisashi2663 yes, but i feel like my school prepared me well for it!
as a student (almost licensed!) with 0 experience, it's really comforting to know that our routines in clinic are basically the same as a practicing hygienist. minus the part where you see a lot more patients in one day. It just makes it less intimidating knowing I am being prepared correctly. Thank you!!
The most expensive thing on the planet is trust. It can take years to buy and simply a question of seconds to lose.
. At the point when you fully trust someone, either you get an individual for life or an exercise forever. There’s no in the middle.
Trust lies at the center of love; there can be no true love without trust. I feel so happy that the trust on one another continues developing.
One of the greatest and toughest intensity of trust is that it is extremely difficult to build, however exceptionally simpler to obliterate. It resembles circulatory strain. It’s silent, vital to great wellbeing, yet whenever abused it is deadly.
I thought the sterilization room was a kitchen and she was turning on the coffee pot or something hahahaha
haha!!!

Really appreciate your videos. My daughter is in college doing her core classes until she figures out what direction to go into. I have told her maybe become a dental assistant first to get the feel of working in a dental office. Then finish school for dental hygienist. I'm a mental health nurse and I work long hours, overnight, holidays and mandated many times. I don't want my daughter to live a life that requires to much time away from her to enjoying life and family.

I’m currently a dental assistant wanting to become a hygienist, this makes me so excited to do it one day! :)
Yay! Excited for you! Thanks for watching :)
R
did you become one? :O
R u based in Canada? If yes let me knw the procedure to be cum dental hygienist after dental assisstant
You can do it❤️ I'm definitely thinking about it myself
This just makes me even more excited to become a dental hygienist. I’m starting a two month trade school for dental assistant then more schooling for dental Hygiene🤗💕but that office is gorgeous 😩
YAY! That makes me so happppppppy! So excited for you! Sending positive vibes!
I'm doing the same congrats to you !
Omg SAME!! I’m so excited!!
You can get trained for Hygiene?
Jessie SOberanis yes...
She does 80% more tasks than any other hygienist in my office. !!!😍😍
Lady Keto seriously though! I feel ya!
yeah in most offices the Dental Assistant does 90% of the things she does in the start.
It was very refreshing to see her get everything done for those coming behind her. Teamwork make the dream work 🙌🏽
Lady Keto guess what! The assistant is getting paid to do those things (smirk)
@@omittable actually, dental assistants get WAY underpaid compared to hygienist. Average wage for DA is $13 to $16 where hygienist make anywhere from $30 to $40 an hour. Dental assistants do A LOT more than hygienist and are always under appreciated also. So no Mali Jabb... We don't get paid enough to do 90% of the workload while hygienists get away doing 10% of the workload while getting a fat check.
I just came across this channel. I'm a dental hygienist in Michigan. I graduated from the local college in 1985. Have been with the same dentist for 34 yrs, he is 90 and going good. He is down to 3 days a week. It's a super old office and many patients are as old as the doctor, he is working on 5th generation patients. I'll probably retire in about a year. When I think how much I'll miss those people I get sentimental. I wish I had modern equipment like you. Very nice office. When I first hired in I was told the first thing you do is punch in, the second thing you di is start the coffee pot. Then continue. Ha ha

@@zohashahid30984 I ended up retiring in December 22 due to breast cancer and surgery that went wrong. This last December the doctor had heart surgery and is weak and can't work now. It was a good ride while it lasted and I will always be grateful for it.
I’m a freshman, and I’m trying to decide what I want to do in the future. I have two options at the moment, either be an EPIK teacher (English Program In Korea), or a dental hygienist. This was a very informative video on how the life of a dental hygienist is. Thank you!
Great video, thanks for showing everyone what we go through. It's so funny how people literally have no clue, as an RDH for 11 years now, I still love it very much, but it is definitely A LOT! I only work about 2 days a week nowadays. Anyway, keep making videos, you rock!
thank you for watching! and for your kind words!
I miss those pre covid days... what a nightmare now!
I know right! Even before Covid, I always wore long sleeves (just didn't in these videos to look nicer lol) but NOW we've got layers upon layers!
I just finished school for Dental Assistant I want to go back in a few years for hygienist I love this video!

Can I just say this pumps me up even more for hygiene school? Coming from a longtime dental assistant, I really appreciate that you help get your office ready in the morning. My hygienist is the same way and I love that we all get along and help each other like you all do. You're showing a lot of potential hygienists not only how to be efficient and precise, but to act as part of a team. 👍 Btw, what brand are those scrubs? They look super comfy! Edit: Oop. Found them in the comments. My bad!

Ronald Wanja I just now started college for dental hygiene! Currently have 6 classes this semester! Super stressful! If dental hygiene isn’t really what I want to be after getting the degree I’ll probably head over to real estate
I've always been interested in the dental hygienist career but I was always scared to pursue it because I heard it's hard to get a job as a dental hygienist. Sometimes I come back to these videos and think if I should just go for it.
I'm sure it depends on the location where you live! But, if you love it, you can do it!!!!

Amazing!!! Here in Brazil, I use to go to a clinic that a dentist perform cleaning routine, every six months. The funny part is that she has an assistant to help with the
sanitation of the tools and a receptionist to take care of the schedulings. Looks like you handle it all, alone. Nice work!

Happy to see your videos....I was a dentist in my country...but now I m in uk and couldn’t get my registration in uk yet now....good luck dear
When I interned at my first dentist office I used to set the rooms up and clean instruments all day. Absolutely loved it

Thanks for a great video, I’m a dental nurse in the UK 🇬🇧 & hygienists in this country always have a nurse to do the cleaning/surgery setting up/instruments so it’s strange to see you do it all yourself but go you! 🙌🏻😃 ☺️ It’s mainly due to chaperoning as it used to be like that in the old days...no nurse in surgery x
That is so interesting! Greeting to the UK! Thank you for commenting :) Positive vibes!
