Hello. The most interesting part of this video was when you had to switch back and fourth between patients. That was real time and that was something that showed me how it might be sometimes. Another interesting part was you showing the x-ray of the patients teeth and gums and explaining them.
Fellow RDH here! You seem so calm and collected, even during the hustle and bustle! Can't wait to watch more of your videos and get further inspo :) Also, I love that 3d scan of the teeth!
Never been interested in dental work before. You are so very detailed; it’s great to watch. From the way you explain, to just watching you prep each op room. Kudos. This was an exceptional video. Well done 👏🏾👏🏾 instant sub 👌🏾
Love how detailed this video is. Dental hygiene in the US seems so chill. In Sweden we have 13-15 patients per day with 30/40 min each. Only half an hour lunch
I agree with you, Alexandea. I'm in my first year of Dental Hygiene program, and most of my days, I feel so overwhelmed and second guessing if I can make it through BUT seeing videos like this make me realize that I'm going through all this stress to be at the stage she is!
Hey I actually learned new things in this video , can you give us one video out the week teaching us things in the dental field ( what materials are for , and how you use it ) so we know something’s before starting hygiene school
The doctor does all the treatment planning, although I know how, it is out of my scope of practice. As far as perio charting, that it taught IN DEPTH in school. I hated it then and I still hate it 😂 but it’s necessary to diagnose perio disease.
Most interesting was pt treatment how you explained and handled 2 pt, you are a rock star very knowledgeable and great customer service.Thank you for sharing
I found the part of the video where you talk about the patient treatment plan very interesting (the whole video, really). At the dentist office, I have always wondered how to read those screens that show the teeth all lined up.
I like Danny 😂 4:55 Girl it look like you were stuffing sterile pads down her throat 😳 lol. That guy had better been understanding he was an hr and a half early lol. Great Video! Your such a lovely soul. ☺ Thank You!
I am a British dental therapist and my main concern is that generalised bone loss on those rads. Here in the UK bone loss is our first priority and we would be pocket charting and dealing with the perio before placing crown and bridgework.
Patients are under general dentist & periodontist care, alternating every 3-4 months. Their perio conditioned is being maintained, therefore proceeding with restorative care is acceptable.
I am so jealous of you American dental hygienists for being able to have your nails done. in UK dental nurses and dental hygienists we aren't allowed to have anything done to our nails at all.
Hey! Great video. What software were you using at the end of the video when you were showing the pt. recession? I'm also a hygienist and would love to have some 3D software like that.
Great video. Do you work for aspen or a DSO? I’m only asking because of the high tech scanner and the fact you can hop back and forth. I just took a position at Aspen and I’m excited to be able to stay busy, while making money !!!
It is impossible to leave the room when using a nomad and puts out very little radiation. I would definitely recommend you learn about the nomad so you’re a little less confused about practicing with it. You may come to love it.
Do you ever clean teeth with pumice or something prior to whitening treatment? I have experienced patients that have plaque around teeth when they come in for whitening even though they had their hygiene appointment a few days ago.
I try and make sure they have realistic expectations before beginning. One zoom tx is $599. I’ve never experienced a patient that wasn’t pleased with their results so no one has had to come back for multiple treatments. That price also includes custom trays so they whiten as often as they’d like.
@@KaleshaMonet It looks like you applied 3 separate bleach gels ......how long is the light process for each? And how much time do you book for the zoom treatment?
@@YADDIEBUCK Sorry. No employer pays employees to sit around & read personal stuff. There is so much work behind the scenes in a dental office it isn't funny. If you are all caught up and you get a last minute cancelation, be a team player and ask others if you can help doing anything- making a phone call, pulling charts, unpacking delivery boxes, etc....
I love how detailed your day is. I’d be scared to even record my patients even with permission cus ppl crazy lol
😂😂 it doesn’t hurt to ask! I love your videos. You inspired my content!! 💘🦷

Yes, I agree! Please make a video on this.
all the dental hygienists I watch have such beautiful teeth 😭❤️❤️ ! i can’t wait until it’s my turn 😁😁

Just found your channel and I am loving it! I’m also a dental hygienist 😁 Love your personality and how positive you are too 💜
How long did it take to become a dental hygienist
I just came across your channel. I have never heard of gum recession so, that was some pretty interesting info. Loved this video!
You are right. The generalized bone loss is due to the presence of overhang in fillings.
Can you go over how to read/chart the restorations on xrays?
Sure!
I am so jealous of you American dental hygienists for being able to have your nails done. in UK dental nurses and dental hygienists we aren't allowed to have anything done to our nails at all.
I really need to get my teeth whitened. How long does the process usually take? Thank you for such an informative and helpful video! 😊
Kalesha where do you get your ear loop extender for your face mask? Loved the video! Murphy ‘s law in the dental office! You handled it all so well!
An etsy shop!
I b so hot in my disposable jackets but I love them better than the regular. Love how u cut a slit for ur battery pack 💪🏾

Why is there no lead apron used while taking x-rays?
Who cares.

no lead apron on patient when taking X-rays and then also the operator not leaving the room really confuses me.

Yes, and if there’s some reoccurring supragingival tartar present in the smile line, I’ll remove it prior to whitening.
@@KaleshaMonetIs there an extra charge for them for removing the plaque?
As a dental hygienist, do you do the procedure for the teeth whitening or does the dentist?
I do!
My boy showed up with a bald head 😂
Hi there,
Can you please explain to me about that machine you used to take the BW??😲
It’s a portable x-ray machine called a nomad! It is amazing!!!
@@KaleshaMonet oh ok.
I guess I'm concerned with radiation exposure for the operator.
Do you wear a dosimeter badge?
@@tcclarke7271 I do not but I have a coworker that does and she submits hers once a year and it stays below the preferred amount.

Hey hey, happy to have you!! I usually see 7-8 adult patients a day.
Do they make you stay there if you have a big gap between patients
I don’t have to since I’m paid by production.
What are the pros and cons of this profession I’m trying to figure out a good college major
