The song is about her feeling completely in love and finally feeling good enough for the one she loves...but she is expecting it to fall apart. As if she knows nothing good stays in her life. So you get the darkness creeping in and the place being caught on fire..."I'm still waiting for the rain to fall." Waiting for everything to crash down. She is fragile and giving herself completely to him and asks him to "take care what you ask of me, cause I can't say no to you." Taking a leap of faith by feeling good...enough.
Amy Lee wrote this song ispired by her now husband, they were dating but she has known him for years, way before being famous Amy met Josh Hartzler in 2001 through a friend they were suppose to meet at a place his friend was late, and he saw her and asked her if she was really happy, "I felt he could see into my eyes for a second I was so shy and after a pause I lied"...Amy quote, and she wrote Bring Me To Life inspired by that event. Later on they were friends and fame became a thing for Evanescence, she was in another relationship with Shaun Morgan, which end up badly in late 2005 and she started seeing him after that break up, he became a therapist so she went there with him and realized tons of stuff in the process like her love for him, this song Good Enough came out in this period time, where they started dating and she finally was with someone she liked for several years after all she went through, so the "I can't say no to you" part is like as a hint of saying "Marry me".... and so they did a year later in May 2007. They've been married for 13 years now and have a 5 year old kid named Jake Lion Hartzler Lee, son of Amy (Hartzler) Lee
Amy said she wrote this song when she was finally totally happy. All the EVs stuff uses sits in a dark place. Death, bad boyfriends, lost love. If you want to be cheered up EV isn't the place to go. Amy is depressing if you think about it. She writes it well and she sings is well. You can feel her pain. How she came out a normal person as always amazed me. A pervert stocked, Sister dying, brother dying. 2 terrible abusive boyfriends, manager tried to abuse her and the music industry telling her to find a male lead and do what you do best and go on stage and look pretty. She could have become a very bitter nasty person. But from everything you read and hear about her she's nothing but nice. All thou early on (Fallen era) it was said stay clear of Amy when she was in one of her foul moods.
The whole album , The Open Door, is very somber and dark. And this song, the last one, is the departure of Amy to all the sadness and embracing of happiness and new adventure ( both in her personal life and musically)
For me the video is about letting go that part of ourself that holds us back (the fire in this case) and accepting new changes and happiness (the rain and new flowers blooming)
And there is still the insecurity if this new change will see you as good enough ( not you seeing this change as good enough) so there is still that dark undertone.
The album version of the song had an intro that actually completes this song.
Fun fact: They actually torched that set and things almost went preeeetty wrong 😂

LOL They were never married but he did inspire her to write "Call Me When Your Sober" and he responded with his song "Breakdown". This song is actually about her now-husband Josh.
