I met Carmen with my then 6 yr old son inside my building’s elevator on East 76th Street many years ago. She was so sweet, kind, delightful, human and, of course, as we all can see, breathtakingly beautiful. She told me that I should thank God for the beautiful face He had given me. Imagine one of the most beautiful & famous woman in the world taking the time to tell me this! I needed to hear this! As I am seldom rewarded with such sweet compliments. Very nice of Carmen. Although this was many years ago, I will never forget this! For once I never complained about my snail paced elevator! ❤❤❤❤❤❤

I met this incredible woman when she was 64 at the legendary photographer Carmine Schiavone's studio. I couldn't believe how amazing she looked then. He barely had to work to get a good picture of her. She is beautiful, and a real professional. She hasn't changed.

@autumn5852, In America our culture does not nurture elderly and disabled compared to other countries. We stick our family in daycare, nursing homes and institution/group homes.
Many other countries the family helps take care of their own.

I'm very happy for her that she's living a very nice life and that she's been able to live this life this long. I think she's 92 now.
I can forget about the intimacy stuff because after my divorce 32 years ago, it was difficult for me to trust again and, the times that I did trust I was betrayed again. No thank you. I've never been a fan of intimacy anyway so I'm cool That I've avoided it for over 20 years now. I'm 30 years younger than her.
Due to a lot of genetic issues, I doubt I will live a lot of years from now, but I do my best.
But I do love it when I do see others living such beautiful lives.

I feel happy to see her, gives me inspiration to keep doing what Im doing, Im little more strict, Im vegetarian, meaning my raw foods are 80-90% and then depends my mood I drink hot cocoa (or cacao, whatever), I drink 3-4 liters of water, I meditate as well, dancing, yoga, streching, walking etc....
But I concentrate into anti aging foods, of course I chose the road of being a vegetarian... since I have seen many people vegan raw foodists looking amazingly good for their age.
My routine in skin care is also moisturize and I have added PRP, cosmetic needling and weekly citric acid peeling which works wonders, but with the special foods and few supplements I help my body to have all the tools to rebuild the collagen.
I have tremendous results, Im 41 and people are amazed of how I look so far, this video and other wonderful ladies makes me feel good reaching now 50. I don't feel bad or scared, I feel that I will be vibrant and energetic at those ages. People think sometimes that people like us don't want wrinkles and we want to look young, well yes we do, but unfortunately wrinkles goes along with loss of energy and stamina, the older you get the more health problems you have, by keeping your self youthful with foods and exercise you lower your risk of certain diseases which literally can cripple you..... I would love to be 91 and as vibrant like she is even if I have few wrinkles.
Oh and sleep! meditation, peace of mind is like 50% of antiaging, food is 40% and external topical application for wrinkles is 10%. And those are facts!
Skincare products are useless and only exist to make profit. Eating raw and no meat obviously has huge benefits and is the most important one. Meditation and (relaxed) exercises like walking also help a lot. Just don't go overboard like most people.

She is no doubt amazing and gorgeous, and not that I'm against it (I have a consult with surgeon next week in fact) she clearly has had plastic surgery. Extremely well done, and natural looking but I do wish this subject was approached in this video. I'm all about honesty. No amount of water or moisturising in the world can stop the natural aging process of our skin. I would love to know exactly she has had done since it looks more natural than most.
I have never understood why these celebrities lie so much. I have seen videos of, for example, Jennifer López as young woman, and she now has a smaller nose and pronounced cheek bones. Her forehead looks exactly as someone who has had botox. Yet, she walks around saying she hasn't had anything. It's annoying and deceitful. Smh
She has had at least one neck lift, which is a simple procedure: cut skin behind the ears, suck out the fat under chin and resew skin behind the ears again. I can't believe more men and women don't do it. I did and look much younger. One week to total recovery.

@@Dbb27 Just a tiny bit of numbness behind my ear. I forgot to mention that the edges of skin were trimmed before reattaching. It has been ten years, so I am sagging some. I never had the neck cords either, a la Judy Woodruff, but a neck lift would take care of that too. I didn't get any deep wrinkles either. I got the best surgeon, a young woman BTW. Trust me-you'll love the new look.

In a documentary she said that if the ceiling in your living room collapsed, wouldn't you fix it? I think you have to do what makes you happy in regards to face lifts, especially at a certain age, not like the young women nowadays.
Facelifts alone aren’t enough to achieve that. It’s genetics and maintaining a healthy life style and coping with the stress of life on a healthy way. And consistency with caring for herself. She’s the one that moisturizers, schedules procedures etc consistently

She has good genes . She is one of those rare people that ages very slowly . She has had stress in her life though and stress speeds up the ageing process. Sleep is extremely important in keeping you young and having really good friends.
Chronic stress ages you, but a certain amount of stress is actually beneficial to anti-ageing believe it or not.
The average American is killing themselves eating insane amounts of carbs and sugar on a daily basis. That's why 90% of Americans above fifty are diabetic, have heart disease, and develop dementia at 70. There's nothing natural about it.
She’s obviously lived a very privileged life, free of chronic stress. Maybe she’d like to do life over and have my level of stress and see how much genes and not plastic surgery have enhanced her face.

Considering that she's had some plastic work done, her genes aren't really that good. When my Mum turned 90 she had almost no facial wrinkles. NO LIE! And, my Mum has never raked in (or inherited) the kind of dough that carmen has. My Mum has never worn much make up, never had any false lashes or brows, no hair extensions or acrylic nails. She has never been on a diet or had ANY kind of plastic surgeries or botox work done. Just a real all-natural woman with truly good genes. Her dad (my Grandpa) lived to be 100 and was as sharp as he was during his academic career as professor. He had a great memory and still loved volunteering and teaching during his last few years. He, too, had great skin and very few facial wrinkles. BTW, they both experienced a lot of stress in their lives. - long-term/chronic stresses.

Internet sources say that she was born on 3rd of June, 1931. Some people say she lies about her age but I don't thinks so. Even she is not 90+, say about 70 as she looks, you cannot deny her gracefulness in posture and movement. She is elegant. Of course she has undergone procedures as any supermodel does but nothing too drastic to look like a 20 year old. She has done well to take care of her self. She walks straight, still like a supermodel does. That's the lesson we need to learn, to take care of ourselves because noone stays young forever.

Loved this Lady for decades. Thirty years ago I started in College studying Photographic Arts and Computer Imaging. Sitting around with other students discussing who we would like to shoot in a Fashion Layout. Most everyone mentioned Cindy Crawford. She was popular at that time. When I was asked who my desired model would be. My choice would be Carmen Dell'Orefice. Surprising that they were unaware as to who she was. But I told them that Carmen was the original Super Model. She was around sixty then but looked thirty. She is still a radiant beauty, has experience like no other model, knows how to look and walk. She is just truly a Stunning example of what a Woman is.

Strategies for longevity:
1. Eat a balanced whole food diet (balanced in regard to macro and micro nutrients) and drink enough water, avoid processed foods.
2. Get enough rest and sleep regularly
3. Exercise 150 minutes a week
4. Don´t be overweight
5. Do all recommended preventive diagnostics and blood work twice a year.
These steps already allow you to get most out of your age genetics.

I'm 40 and when it comes to food (not diet) and skincare I too am building my routine for longevity. As for workingout, I've taken it down a few notches. I was injuring my body. So now I went back to hour long powerwalks.And on crazy days just 30 minutes. ✌️

I'm a fitness instructor and had to do something similar after some overuse injuries. On the days I don't teach, it's yoga, walking, and PT exercises for me. :)

I certainly don't think they have less stress. The constant upkeep on body , weight, hair, skin, competition and age? Nothing stress less about this.
@KAL829 true. but they definitely put their looks and physical form to priority. Compared to my mother who had to do so much physical labor to earn money, worked as an NICU nurse for years..to an ex model who is of same age as her, the model looks so much younger and healthier than her
@@kikithepupper6774 Well of course. When you're at a certain level in modeling you have the best of everything. You have the best trainers, you have the best surgeons, you have the best doctors. Still, if you wish to take really good care of yourself there are a lot of options available to the general public. I'm 63 and although I haven't had a facelift yet, I would love to. I don't think it's really necessary yet most people think I look like I'm in my 40's I've had fillers and Botox. I use great skin care I use excellent supplements. I work out daily. Just as we have jobs, this is a model's job. To look great all of the time for as long as they can if they want to be paid. I have known people that modeled and some of them really like it, but can't deny that it's pretty high pressure and stressful.
I am 59 so I can't say that Carmen looks 59. But she looks amazing for her age. Then again, she forgot to mention how many face lifts she's had. I'm sure there have been many. What matters is whether she's happy.
She surely has done a few, right? But today we have some newer procedures available, such as microneedling with or without RF, injection of biostimulators, lasers and a lot of different chemical peelings, or even a very new one that’s a gentle removal of excess skin by microcanullas, I’ve seen about it in one of the surgeon Dr. Anil Rajani’s videos here on YT (he’s a great advisor on procedures). So, I think if we keep doing such less invasive procedures progressively, besides a continuous and healthy skincare, we won’t feel the need for (many) facelifts, maybe one or two, or none? I hope, actually lol

I read that she goes to Switzerland for treatments, you can tell she has had mutiple face procedures done, botox, eye lift and breast lifts.

If you look at her you will notice two important aspects.
She has protected her skin since an early age.
This is absolutely number one. Not only sunscreen but sun avoidance.
The second variable is the large mandible. Her facial bone structure is perfect to prevent premature aging. Having a large mandible prevents a double chin, keeps jawline definition, avoiding jowls, nadolabial folds and marionette lines.
This in combination with surgical intervention is the key.
Her stretching, or drinking tea is irrelevant.
Staying lean and genetic background (that big mandible) and no sun damage are what’s it’s all about.

My mother is 91 yo too. She has smoked most of her life & “ learned to” from her brothers after coming home after ww2 - They were farming then. She’s had cancer twice because of her nicotine addiction. She never earned a HS degree but passed the US DOT certification to drive school buses for two retirements and invested the money.
She was never poor or broke but worked as hard as this model. My point I believe my mom is extraordinary.
She is an inspiration to all of us. Magnificent!
Carmen is a force of nature
My swimming teacher looked 20 and was 40, very beautiful too. Sport and physical (movement), if we like it and when not overdone, is benefic for health, including keeping a healthy mind. So is a creative, pleasant activity, like sewing nice clothes. Modeling is very much a pleasant activity, as dealing with new, splendid clothes all the time, walking on a stage allong with new music, and being admired and applauded for it etc.
Also, a real faith and a good philosophy - which enhance love, kindness, altruism, balance - ensure a good life and longevity.
So, it is possible and i'd say to Carmen: "Good for you! You are really inspiring, thank you!"

Bless her heart. When I'm 91, I seriously doubt I'm going to want to continue modeling, rather than put on some slouchy clothes and be comfortable, no matter how good I still look.
