We bought the other brother of this one, the 22FBS and love it. It is our 5th rv in 5 years actually and can honestly say, this is the perfect rv for us. We are a couple with two dogs and it works great. We love the open sides of the bed, it sleeps great and does not feel all stuck in a coffin as most rv's make you feel when that is closed in. Perfect rv is all we can say about this.

I'd like to see the carpet gone, but it's not a deal breaker. In something that size I expect a smaller bathroom, and that one does everything I need it to do. For its size this floorplan has a lot to offer, perfect for someone like me.

I second that plus to switch the upper-middle cabinet in the kitchen for the TV and put that cabinet instead of where the TV is now. You dont need a TV neck wrecker in the bed and the living room. It misses both marks by being placed at an angle. Better have it in front of the recliners and enjoy a straight line of viewing. The bed is right next to the recliners so you wont feel the need to watch it there (also we have laptops now to watch movies in bed).

I picked my new 2205s up from Haylett last Friday. I have camped 4 nights in it and it is a great travel trailer. Stopped Monday night in very cold weather and the fireplace plus furnace had the camper toasty warm in minutes.

We almost bought an 26ft imagine with a theater seat. However once we got to thinking about it, we were like where is anyone that comes in gonna sit. Not that we would have a bunch. But we at times go camping with another couple(they have their own RV) and if they came in, there would be no where else to sit. This is why we opted for the Grey Wolf 23MK. Only thing I wish is the sofa at the back in our MK, that it had a small pop out for the legs.
    I do like this one.
We are Newbies, so we are learning so much. We had no idea how much stuff we still needed after we brought it home. We are sure enjoying it. Love your videos.

Josh, I saw a video on RUclips where the host turned the door window over top to bottom thus putting the curtain upside down. That way you could close the curtain about halfway for privacy inside at night but you can still look out to see who's knocking.

    My thoughts:
Great looking couples camper! I personally prefer darker decor, but this lighter decor is executed very well. I wouldn't mind it.
I like no carpet, but with small strips like that on the edge of the sofa, it doesn't bother me like dinette carpet.
I also like the DVD player and think it's still a worthwhile inclusion. Cell service has improved in recent years, and campgrounds do have WiFi, but there are still places off the beaten path that won't have enough signal to stream or even pull up a web page. I'd keep a few classic DVDs on hand for those rainy days or cold nights.
I really like the free floating table and hope these become more common.

This is still my favorite camper. I think I would like to have the cupholders on the arms of the theater seating so you can use those cupholder cupholder swing out trays instead of even using the table. It's just the wife and I most of the time so we don't even need the table inside if we can help it. Another great review and some absolutely awesome dad jokes thrown in. LOL! And I WAS wondering it it was toilet TV friendly so glad you showed that. LOL!!! --Brent

I love this couples size RV. Has everything you need. The outside is quite attractive. The only drawback for me is that carpeting. It is bunched up and ugly. I would like to see the new stuff they are using. It looks like the pontoon flooring. There is one style that has a pattern on it. That would make this look like a million dollars. The carpeting next to the bed needs to go too. There has got to be some kind of covering that can be used by the bed. Rockwood would do well to research it and be the one to figure it out. Rockwood rules!

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  3 года назад

They’re actually going through their entire line up and removing carpet unit by unit. They make a huge number of model so it’s a little time-consuming but they are making it happen. So far I’ve seen it happening up in their fifth wheels but I know it will continue through the rest of the lineup

We live in Oklahoma and ordered the Flagstaff 22FBS the sister to this Rockwood on 4/2021 and are expecting it anytime. No offense uncle Josh, but we ordered the darker wood and darker material😀. We also upgraded the a/c to 15,000 btu, white paint, an additional roof fan (hope we don’t regret that), the solar panel with 12 volt frig, the roller cover over the slide out. If we could have listened to your manufacturing videos (which came out after we ordered), we would have upgraded the wheels and tires.

Three things I would like to see changed on this RV, I would like to see 40 gallon black and grey water, especially the grey water. The second item would be pull out steps, I can see a problem when we pull into a rest area, the amount of space required may not allow us to either pull the steps out or put them in. The third item I am not sure if there is space with the wide slide but we had a 2010 Trailblazer that had a bar that came out at the end of the kitchen, we had two fold up bar stools and if we wanted to eat in the trailer we would do it there. The bar was also at the same level as the kitchen counter so it gave us a lot of extra counter space. Thanks for the great review, this is probably the RV we are going to purchase.

For that little cabinet under the fireplace, I would find a narrow trash can to keep there (not seeing another good spot?). And curious...do those wardrobes beside the bed actually fit a normal-sized clothes hanger? LOL

I ordered my 2021 in February of 2020 with the darker exterior, cabinetry, theater seating and floor plus the two way fridge. Love the stovetop and oven, the fireplace, the porcelain toilet, the ladder, the queen bed, the interior and exterior storage and the 58 gallon fresh water tank! The only negatives are the radius shower which looks a lot nicer than it is user friendly and the 120 volt Sharp TV that requires a generator when boon-docking in the 🌧. Best RV that I have ever owned, and I am so glad that I ordered when I did because I see that they have already increased in price by $5,000-$7,000😬

Nice cozy trailer. One BIG flaw is the rear fridge. My Starcraft has the almost the same layout and everything in the fridge goes flying off the shelves and out of the door because it is in the back of the trailer where it gets the maximum bounce when going over any kind of bump. It got to the point that I had to tape the door shelves in place so they would not fall off the door.

Ah yes, the biting humor of a Carole Baskin reference, touché 😂. Always impressed with Rockwood quality and features. GREAT storage space in this ‘little’ trailer. OTG features are awesome. Camp queen vs. true queen? The length is usually not the real issue for me, it is the mattress quality. Replacing the original medieval torture bed with a residential mattress will necessitate a full queen size anyways.

Love this Rockwood trailer. So many great features!! It is nearly perfect for us. Would like to see better solar standard. I love popup counter extenders, but greatly prefer ones that Match the counters height. Love the larger oven; could they do larger window too?.... I like the true queen bed, but would prefer a Murphy bed over sofa option on this floorplan, to provide additional seating & open up the interior for rainy days. Add a storage tray to one side of the front pass through & set up the water like a fifth wheel with protected connection bay panel on the other side.

I live in the Southeast so really don't care for those big front windows. Those are solar accelerators.
We don't spend a lot of time sitting on the toilet but I really want more elbow room than a lot of rvs provide.
I prefer the 20# propane tanks because you can remove and swap the tank rather than needing to have it refilled. I understand the extra capacity so that's just a personal preference plus we don't use a lot of heat so propane lasts us a long time.

Really like this model. Love all the storage in such a small trailer. Love all the drawers in the kitchen. I agree with you that the back closet would be better if they gave you the option of removable shelves and a closet rod. Wish you had someway to add pictures of the dinette and sofa sleeper options. I really wish it had no carpeting. Can you still order the gas/electric refrigerator? Also if you order the gas/electric refrigerator, can you also order a solar panel? Wish all manufacturers would put shelves or removable shelves in overhead kitchen cabinets. Thank you for the wonderful job you do with giving us all the information on the trailer. Love watching you.

2-way fridge is an available option yes
And yes you can can add solar on top of that and would need to if you want it since solar isn't STANDARD, but rather the 12v fridge is standard and the 12v fridge auto-includes the solar package

Hi, great RV review again. We currently have a Jayco Eagle that we love, but want to down size. This maybe hit most of our check marks. I love the Azdel and plywood construction of this unit. I prefer to sacrifice weight over lesser quality construction. I agree with you, an entrance closet would be great and better. I know this layout doesn't allow it but I would miss my outside refreshment fridge. I don't like the entrance stairs. We are travelers, these are difficult to use went in truck stops or on the side of the highway. I would also miss our bedroom door, but now that we are only two, maybe it's not a big deal. Lastly, we would have to get the table/bench option. We are big evening games players. Down sizing is not easy, but this one maybe a contender. Thanks.

Josh, Thanks for all the great videos. they have been a life saver for me. I am a happy owner of a 2021 2205S. In this video you mention "double azdel throughout". I am on a 2205S forum and we are all kind of scratching our heads with what that actually means. The best we can come up with is that instead of the sandwich being Luan/Foam Luan, or Adzel/Foam/Luan, it is Adzel/Foam/Adzel inside and out.
Could you clarify for us and I will spread the word.
    Thanks in advance

Great camper ! We have a GeoPro 19QB that we think is great. However we’re interested in a camper with true queen running north-south, larger shower, and theater seating being more practical for us than a dinette. Looked at Lance, considered the equivalent Cougar 22RBS, and ordered a Minilite 2205S in Sept. We hope to take delivery on the 2205S in March-April.

Also above recliner. What's with RV manufactures inaccessible spot between doors ? Make as large doors as possible ! But at least just one exterior door, egress ? :)

  • @stever6986
    @stever6986 3 года назад +1

Weird that it doesn't have the removable shelves and hanging rack bar in the cabinet immediately inside the door since that's the exact same cabinet as in the 2109S, which does have that cabinet/hanging closet flexibility. In fact, the 2205S is just a 2109S that is a foot longer allowing for a full queen bed and a larger slide/theater seat, so that different cabinet doesn't make a lot of sense. I really hope that you receive a 2513S soon to review, because that's the next big step up for these floorplans (and I think that one is superior in several ways to the similar 2511S).

In previous model years, the back pantry was closet convertible. Why did they eliminate that? Super handy for coat/outerwear storage. Can it still be built as optional? Either way, easy enough to fix myself. I agree that slam latches on the front cargo would be amazing! I so badly want to rearrange the TV/fireplace tower, but in the mean time, I'd put under the sink items (household cleaners, towels, sponges, etc.) in that lower cabinet since there isn't a cabinet under the sink.

I like it! Ordinarily I’d be wary of no vent flooring being here in MI but the size explanation makes sense. I do think I’d go with the entertainment sofa. There’s plenty of room
there for a cot or two in front of it so the boy would still sleep comfortably and the recliner looks great! The main worry I have is the fridge. I’d go with the somoressir option, I just worry about it being damaged over time due to being in the main spot for vibration (the back of the camper.) But having it there does allow for a much better TV/fireplace position so… worth it? Probably. I forgot to play the “guess the MSRP!” game before commenting. I have a number in mind, I know it won’t be dramatically lower than that, it could be higher (Rockwoods are not the cheapest option but you get what you pay for by all accounts.) Unless it’s WAY more than I am thinking it’s one that may be worth exploring.
