I started my Plant-based journey 7 months ago, and the reason for me was to support my daughter, who was diagnosed with lupus. The transition was difficult. However, I am learning to create new recipes daily and getting much easier. And frankly, I don't miss the meat at all. I love your meal ideas. Thank you.
You remind of my mom. 🥹🥹😆….I have lupus too my flare was so bad….this was my was out desperately(thanks to dr Brooke Goldner). So yea my mom supported me too and still eat plantbased today, since march/april 22 ☺️
Yes… let’s get this plant based journey. I’m 62 years young. I want the rest of my life to be the best of my life. I welcome all the good content that you’ve given and will continue to give. Thank you , for your time and patience. ❤️🙏🏾💪🏾😊
I have been plant-based since October, trying to heal from psoriasis. This is the only thing I've tried that is actually working already. Skin is 95% clear, hair growing, etc. NO MEDS! I love your videos because you make the process fun and the food tastes amazing. I made the mac n cheese for Thanksgiving and nobody knew it was vegan lol. Happy New Year!
@Sweet Greens Vegan thank you so much! Several of my health issues have been reversed and I was able to avoid being put on blood pressure meds! I have shared your channel with so many of my friends. They now see that maintaining this lifestyle is very possible!! Today is Day 30 of plant based for me and I'm not going to stop!🙌🏽🔥🙏🏽
Vegetables, beans and rice is what saved me. Initially I wasn't eating enough and I felt miserable and was ready to quit. Once I figured that out, I felt comfortable trying different things. It's still my go-to when I'm needing a simple and filling meal. Your channel has definitely been instrumental for me. I started freezing my tofu because of you. It was definitely a game changer.
I am a carnivore at heart but I am subscribed because I do like vegetarian options .( I know she’s vegan) We need to eat to live not live to eat. Her recipes look so good and she makes it look easy
That’s how I am… I have to have my chicken or fish ….but I also love vegetarian food .. have to have my eggs and cheese …. However there are some recipes she’s done that were vegan and I absolutely love them
Can we first appreciate the glow that must be coming from heaven on this beautiful goddess?👏🏾 If being plant based does this, let me hurry up get it together. But Sis, I promise I feel like you made this video just for me. I'm going to show out this year and give my 100%, and if I fall a little short some days, I will give myself grace. I'm claiming this year is my year to go 100% plant based. I gotta plan my meals out just like I plan my week out for everything else. Thanks hun for the video, and stay beautiful not only on the outside but inside as well❤ Happy New Year
I love your content! I was vegan for years and fell off. I just turned 50 and want to get back to feeling (and looking) like I did then. I’ve been watching you for a while and you truly inspire me! Thanks for sharing such wonderful options!
I absolutely Love this! I’ve been contemplating going plant based for a while now….I purchased books, already started buying some groceries, but have been very much overwhelmed. Some of the ideas you’ve shared I had the thoughts, even down to meal substitutes a day or week at a time, planning ahead of time and not going cold turkey. Overall I felt like I was not on the right plane as far as my ideas about how to. So this helped me greatly in seeing that I do have the right ideas! My favorite tip was taking at least 10 favorite meals and learning how to substitute for plant based options, I didn’t think of that, and thats the thing I think I needed to hear to help me to actually start, combined with all other ideas. Thank you for sharing! peace and blessings🙌🏾🙌🏾
Thank you. I was watching videos that would say change but didnt give any tips cuz most of us arent quit cold turkey type of people. The tip of 5 to 10 meals was like a lightbulb!
i have attempted 4 times to become vegan and every time i did something wrong. the main thing i did was start cold turkey and threw everything that wasn't plant based out of my fridge. i didn't plan my meals at all so i would walk around the store and get mostly junk or things i knew i didn't like but felt like i needed. i had a few recipes written down but wasn't in the right mindset to actually cook them and meal prep. watching this video really helps because i'm going to take it slow. i know meat doesn't satisfy me and i'm lactose intolerant so i need to cut these things out. but before i do that, i'm going to take the time to plan out my meals and make sure i am going to be both satisfied hunger wise and also emotional and mentally wise. thank you! and i'm going to take a look at more of your videos. i plan on slowly incorporating vegan meals until i'm 100% comfortable switching over completely.
Thank you Shakayla! I will keep you and the community updated on my progress over the next few months. Thanks for being here and offering such wisdom and knowledge.
This is awesome and you gained a follower. I watched the Netflix series "You are what you eat" and lets say it was amazing and informative. It's the new year 2024 and I'm looking to slowing transition and your video was the first to come up from search and the first words you have is Happy New Year even though it was 2023 when you made this. It still felt needed and was for me to see.
I am not a vegan I strive to be WFPB I suffer from 2 autoimmune conditions I have been watching you for a while this was amazing advice thank you so much. By the way your recipes are BOMB you need a cookbook.
I have absolutely loved watching you I’ve been going back to older videos because I’m new to your channel but I love it I’m plant based n I love getting new ideas thank you so much for everything you are doing for the plant based community
Great tips for transisting to a vegan/ plant based diet Shakayla for those starting a vegan/plant based diet. I should have had this video 7 years ago when I became vegan WFPB. Love 🥰 the video and love 💕 Shakayla.
I want to be a new me in this new year. I am looking forward to becoming vegan. I've been talking about it for way too long. It's time for a change and I'm ready
This is why I’m putting out into the Universe 1 million followers for you in 2023! This video is a saver Sweet Greens Thank You 🙏🏾 😊❤ Small Steps 😅 is the way to a healthy heart and this Plant Based is a Life Style till death do us part ! Much Love Gurlie 💕
I've been binge watching your videos for 2 days now and I absolutely love this channel. Idk how I missed this channel but I have definitely subscribed!
thank you for this, I needed it, lol. I recently decided that I want to become Vegan, for most of the reasons you stated in this video. I realized that just going cold turkey was unrealistic, so for now I am cutting out red meat & all dairy products. One step at a time but I hope to become vegan this year! ❤
I’m new to the plant base journey. I love vegetables but nervous but excited at the same time. I saw in your video you made pickled onions can you share how you did those please 🙏🏽
Happy New Year 🎆 I just wanted to say. I Thank you this video was very helpful. I’m starting on my journey .and I am so very grateful for y’all that I have been following this past year. Tabitha brown & your channel has convinced me that I can do it.🙏🏾BBless in all that you do!🤍
Great tips! Especially the one about following a digital content creator. I'm a pescatarian and will definitely make your shrimp and grits (except with shrimp and with cheese). I also agree, make foods that you like to eat! I love alfredo and just made a homemade alfredo sauce for my tuna alfredo. I'll never buy jarred alfredo again. Also, your tip to keep it simple is key. I made a very simple but delicious veggie scramble with cheese over a whole grain bagel. My Aunt and Uncle are vegans and they love it! Yes, Girl, get that protein in! I sure do. It's important. Keep the great content coming!
Thanks for the tips to inspire me to carry on throughout my vegan lifestyle journey in 2023 & on. You are one of the people who inspire me. Thank you for that as well. I am looking forward to more of your videos in the new year. Happy New Year!!
The real problem for me is the sweet tooth! 😥 Please share any recipes for sweets that you may have. Thanks so much for giving us the reader's digest version of this plant based journey...it really helps!!☺☺
Happy New year 2023 Sis. Thank you, sis, for sharing this. I have been struggling to transition to only plant base food. in my meal for the longest. I was trying to go cold turkey but that did not work for me. It has been hard and a struggle but this year 2023 I am declaring to take little steps and incorporate plant- base meal in my diet one day at a time.
Omgosh I have the same 3 I love Tish wonders meals and yours!!! I have her and Rachel ahama cook books I struggled with being consistent and them food allergies be trying to take me out!
Loved this video!!! This is definitely going to push me to do better!!! Also, I must acknowledge how youthful you look!!!! 🥰Lastly, thank you for continuing to inspire us and wishing you a successful and prosperous New Year! 💙
Thanks for this video!!!!!!!! I love your food content. I'm not vegan/plant based but i have been wanting to do this for years! I def am leaning to go ahead and do it! I feel like this year may be the year that I begin my health transition.
I’m attempting to incorporate more plant based recipes into my diet because I have texture sensitivities that are mostly driven by meat and therefore I tend not to eat enough protein :/
I subscribed immediately! I've been vegan for a couple years now and I have a couple of problems ... I don't eat enough food. If I just eat a bunch of vegetables well it turns out that I'm eating too much fiber and that ain't pretty. I really need mean ideas especially because I have food allergies and I don't like certain foods. I really want to learn how to make tofu, mushrooms or any vegetables look and tastes like meat. I miss eating meat ONLY because it's filling but I don't wanna eat meat at all. I need help with my meals badly. Plus I don't like to cook and oh yeah I'm lactose intolerant uugh but if I have help with meal planning that would make cooking simple and easier! Thank you so much for such a great video.
Awesome, Video, the Food you shared with us, here looked, Delicious, have a wonderful, day, love, Diana Lipski 😍 a soon to be 11 years Vegan, and I love this Loving Lifestyle ❤️
I Love fried Mushrooms. Ty for the good tips. I really need to get back into this. I like using Lentils in place of red meats. Like for Spaghetti. How do you make vegan cornbread? I Love Cornbread. Happy New Year. It can be overwhelming. Cause you think you have to have more then 6 ingredients in meals. And you don't. It was helpful Thank you.🙂

Good morning Ms Shakayla. I live in London, England. I have been following your page for sometime, and i have noticed that you have lost some weight. How much weight have you lost? Will you be doing a Q & A session soon?
Hi!! Thank you for tuning in. Im not comfortable discussing weight gain/loss on my channel but have really enjoyed eating more whole foods on a weekly basis versus ultra processed foods.
LMAO thanks for not telling us mushrooms taste just like fried chicken bc these vegans be outta control. Then I try it and it taste NOTHING like whatever real meat they said it was. I want to incorporate more vegan/plant based meals into my diet this year. Right now I do more processed plant based meals now occasionally.
I love your channel!! I’ve been binge watching your videos and have learned so much! I’ve been a WFPB vegan since November 1. Unfortunately it took a major health scare for me to make the decision, but God spared my life and I’m doing well now! My sister has been vegan for 10 years so she helps me too. She’s the one who recommended your videos to me. Keep up the good work!! 😊
Thank God for protecting you. I am happy to hear how much changing your diet helped you and shoutout to your sister for sharing my page with you. I appreciate the both of you!!
Hi Sweet Greens Vegan. This is my first time commenting on one of your vids. I simply enjoy watching your content. I like this vid as well and I too am incorporating more plant-based meals into my diet...love it and so does my body If I had the time to explain...lol. I call myself somewhat vegetarian because I still have meals that have meat...but not all the time. My journey started with a desire to try eating vegetarian meals, and then one day my job was participating in a food survey "Pass the Love with Mochi and Waffles" meal kits that challenged you to make vegetarian meals with the ingredients sent...I had a ball and just never went back to eating like I use to. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge with us.
I have been vegan on and off for several yrs now, but I recently committed to doing it full time. It’s been only 2 months, but I’m hardly missing meat. I think w/ anything in life you just need to prepare. I have been making extra amounts of dishes and just freezing them for those days when I don’t feel like cooking. I have always loved mushrooms, but the variety I am using is expanding and I’m enjoying the experimentation. Having well seasoned food is helping my taste buds not miss meat. I also have Cava on deck so if I need to order a healthy vegan takeout then it’s my go to. I bring granola bars or little snacks w/ me for whenever I’m out and I get hungry and the meat temptation wants to creep in and catch me off guard. Being gentle with myself as been helpful. I’m not following any rules, just doing what serves my body best and asking the Lord 🙏🏾 for His guidance.
I LOVE THIS SOOOO MUCH! I have tried to go vegan several times now and can’t stick with it. My reasons: 1. My husband eats the SAD and it’s hard sometimes not eating that or, I don't Want to make 2 meals. 2. I am not making meals that are flavorful enough. I think I got too strict too fast. I was Doing no oil and very little sugar. I hated my food! I need To start plant based with FLAVAH!! 🤣
I just joined your channel to learn more and start more clean eating. I have a question though, you said food is healing, but even plant based can be healthy correct? If so, what makes it? I geinuly want to know as I am trying to no jeopardize the taste.
Hey sis I just did my second round of being vegan and vegetarian what you are saying is so true my sister been vegan for over 25 years and been on my head about being vegan I'm here to tell you I have not had meat since October not even for the holidays I'm on my journey my sister and my brother we exchange vegan meals my daughters eat vegan but they still eat meat I don't buy it at all my weakness is the cheese mayo eggs but mind you I buy vegan mayo and cheese and eggs it's just when I'm out and they don't serve it that's my cheat moment but I refuse to buy meat or dairy food
Thank you for all your tips I’m a OG and really want to eat more plant base I been getting recipes from you and just brought some tofu to try thank again Happy New Year
Thank you for making great videos!! Yes to good vibes for 2023 doing our best 🎉 you’re helping people take care of themselves and the earth by making this video which is amazing.
Hi!! No, they’re not the same thing. I don’t have a video where I go into further detail explaining the difference between the two but here’s an article. Essentially plant-based is and can be plant forward while vegan is no animal products what’s so ever plus adhering to a vegan lifestyle www.eatingwell.com/article/8026238/plant-based-vs-vegan/
Fun fact about protein….Protein is only made in plants. It’s pretty difficult to NOT get enough protein. In fact protein deficiency is INCREDIBLY rare, medically speaking I’ve found out!!
I started my Plant-based journey 7 months ago, and the reason for me was to support my daughter, who was diagnosed with lupus. The transition was difficult. bahaha I wont lie to yall
TFS! How do you eat vegan when your spouse is a meat eater?
i would just cook my own food or he would eat vegan too
This is exactly how it is. He uses a meal delivery service or he'll eat one of the meals I make.
Why not just call it Chikpea sandwich. Instead of chickpea tuna when there is no tuna in there?
You can call it a chickpea sandwich if you’d like. I don’t think me calling it “chickpea tuna” is going to keep anyone up at night.
@@Shakaylafelice thanks
Wow you so beautiful 😍
I'm at 29 days no meat and I feel AMAZING! Your meals have helped this journey go a lot smoother than I ever imagined! Thank you!❤️
Yassss!!! Congratulations. I am so happy to hear that what I've been sharing has helped you!!
@Sweet Greens Vegan ABSOLUTELY! Thank you SO much again! Love your energy as well! I get excited and dance when my food tastes good too!🤣🤣
Your body will adjust to no meat or dairy. Trust the process. Xxxx
@Panes yes I'm 4 1/2 months in now and feeling AMAZING!
You got this!!!!
I'm on board another person making a difference
Jan 27, 2024 I a beginner , like changing my diet, vegan diet
I LOVE THIS SOOOO MUCH! I have tried to go vegan several times now and can’t stick with it. My reasons:
Ahh yes, being very strict can be a challenge. Take a slow if you need to!
I just joined your channel to learn more and start more clean eating. I have a question though, you said food is healing, but even plant based can be healthy correct? If so, what makes it? I geinuly want to know as I am trying to no jeopardize the taste.
I'm happy you're here! Are you asking if plant based can be unhealthy?
You are so inspiring!! Thank you for sharing this 🎉

Absolutely!! Thanks for watching and being subscribed to my channel
Isn't vegan and plant based the same thing? ; )
