Thank you very much! I am a total amateur mechanic and I kept coming back to this video for step by step instructions. ❤️🇦🇺 When it came to removing the oil jet the screw method didn’t work as the plug was spinning in the hole. I drilled in with a 2mm bit and it was enough to pop it out. So satisfying! 😊 Sorry but I used red RTV. 😉
Phil, Great video!! You're doing God's work. I appreciate the thorough video with tons of great details. I've been watching other videos but none have the detail yours has. Thanks and subscribed!
This is a great vid. It's a bit pricey but there are type s pump kits for sale with it already grinded down for clearance, but this would be a cheaper alternative
Great video. Don't think I'll be doing the k20A2 oil pump since I don't plan on hanging my k24A in high RPMs often - just some spirited driving from time to time. Anything you'd recommend on a K24A RBB4 before dropping into the engine bay? Figure the t-chain doesn't need it but perhaps a new tensioner?
Hi, just did this conversion thanks to your video. Just wondering is it normal the oil pump guide to have some slack?? like a slight in / out movement even when full torqued down? Im using all new honda hardware and guides.. Cheers
Well done Phil. I like that you covered the applications for this upgrade in the notes, rarely ever see this mentioned. Question: Would you recommend tis upgrade for daily driver street use, I have a K24A2 from 06 TSX in our 05 EP3?
@@hondaresource I'm finally doing this now to my CRX. Oil pump is in and torqued. I also bought a Drag Cartel 45 deg vtc I need to install. I can't wait!
Dude this a great video!! I have a 1989 CRX with a K24A2. I'm not sure if this mod was done but I will do it cause of the extra oil pressure protection. Supposedly it allows the K24 to reach a little higher RPMs? Anything else in there you'd suggest? I saw a video where someone replaced the 25 deg cam gear...?

I appreciate this video and all the details. Helps me with my ocd and building cars!
Thank you
I sticked around the whole video before Mr Babb and I will again soon. Peter is putting a k20a2 oil pump in his k20z3.
thank you for the clear and detailed video. was a big help
Glad it helped!
I'm rewatching it now papi. 👀 🧠. Yeah eye protection 😏. Keep using your PPE kind sir

Thank you for this in depth video my brother🙏
My pleasure, I hope it was useful
Thanks for posting these long in-depth videos. Definitely helping me with my eg build. G'day from Australia!.
Thank you man, glad to help
You are the man Stan!
😍😍😍
RPF1s on the Civic are nice.
Thank you
Thanks for this, I needed this exact video.
I hope it helped you
Does the timing chain stay the same if you add the pump to a k24z3 engine? Or do you have to install a k20 timing chain?
I needed this video thanks!
No problem, hope it helps you out!
Really enjoyed that one
Thank you man, hope you are doing well!

So, what is done for the balance since the k24A pump has balance shaft

Yeah, that is fine.
Hi bro just wanna know about engine k24arbb2 or k24a2 rbb2 which one strong power
what happens if the pin from the chain tensioner comes off ?
Well done Phil. I like that you covered the applications for this upgrade in the notes, rarely ever see this mentioned. Question: Would you recommend tis upgrade for daily driver street use, I have a K24A2 from 06 TSX in our 05 EP3?
Really not necessary unless you are high revving it constantly. My CRV still has the k24 oil pump in it
What car are you building next for yourself??
I'm not sure.
If I change the VTC gear to a 50 degree, will I need to change the actuator to a type s too?
No sir.
What is the advantage to using a k20 oil pan vs a k24 oil pan?
None really. K20 is aluminum, k24 is steel
Do you have to use the K20 oil pan, is there any benefits?
You can use the k24 pan.
@@hondaresource I'm finally doing this now to my CRX. Oil pump is in and torqued. I also bought a Drag Cartel 45 deg vtc I need to install. I can't wait!
What's camshafts this motor use? Intake and exhaust it's better than the dc5?
The stock K24a cams... equivalent to the K24A2
@@hondaresource yes. But it's better dc5 k20a?

The 50 ° vtc definitely helps
@@hondaresource Do happen to know the part number? Might as well do that. Anything else you suggest?
Will this work on a K24Z3
I'm not 100% sure, but I think so
how did u remove the studs on the block for oil pan
vice grips works
Can this oil pump be used for k20a3 engine too?
It should already have this pump
@@hondaresource This is good to know, not many ever mention this. Thanks
So I’m about to swap to the pump on my k24a too. What oil pan can I use? I need to replace my current one
Whatever your preference is. I've used the k20a2 pan and I've used the stock k24 pan
@@hondaresource would the k20a2 pan fit the k24a motor if I get the prb pump?
@@oscarjsm24 yes. I had the aluminum k20 pan on my k24 with prb oil pump
@@hondaresource thank you sir. Also doing the 50 vtc heard it really brings the mid range out on these JDM k24.
@@oscarjsm24 without a doubt
is that the stock k 24 chain or do u need a k20 chain ?
K20 oil pump chain
@@hondaresource DO I USE A STOCK K24 TIMMIING CHAIN OR I K20
sorry for the cap lock haha
paw paw babb in the cover-alls. "Nice tight fit." -She. HA :)
Them joints are warm. I had shorts on beneath them
I’m 99% sure that the A3 pump is the same as the A2, but verify that on your own. A3 pumps are a fair bit cheaper.
Only the rsx a3. Not the ep3 a3
Damn 20lbs lmao
