      Actually there are 2 guitars, if you listen close to the final mix, you can recognize that final bend of the first part of the solo goes on and keeps playing a few phrases, while the second guitar comes in.
      Sorry for the bad english.

      @1971SuperLead 8 лет назад +11

      Yes, I suspect the first part is done with a humbucker guitar, (probably his G&L Rampage) and then the second part is a single coil Stratocaster or Telecaster.

    yep so true- most fans dont know that jerry comes in under Layne quite often actually- he did vocals for angry, hate, junk, man, would, down, heaven, grind, them bones etc- he addes the depth Layne needs- again not to take away from layne's stellar vocals but Jerry provided diversity in those tracks!!

    Just saw these guys open for GNR. Never realized how much backing vocals Jerry did. Even without Layne there the songs were still salvaged by Jerry's voice.

    Wow! This is cool!! If you're a Guitar Player and know what to listen for, you can tell this is the actual recording on the album. Probably could have used a "Hush" or some sort of noise gate to get rid of the buzz; but they most-likely were able to edit that in the studio, or cover it up. GREAT!!!

    1:33 4:12 That's definitely Layne, Cantrell replicates it live post-Layne though.

    • @pierocabreravillar5497

      Nope, it's actually Jerry's voice. They both sang that part together.

    • @motorologist
      @motorologist 2 года назад

      @@pierocabreravillar5497 No it's not. I hope you're not assuming that it's him just from the title, that distorted yet unstrained tone is something Cantrell can't achieve at that pitch (F#4), also at this point in his life he never sang distorted like that.
      Edit:Forgot to mention, there are two vocal lines on that line, but they are both Layne's

    "MAN IN THE BOX"
    I'm the man in the box
    Buried in my shit
    Won't you come and save me?
    Save me
    Feed my eyes
    (Can you sew them shut?)
    Jesus Christ
    (Deny your maker)
    He who tries
    (Will be wasted)
    Oh, feed my eyes
    (Now you've sewn them) shut
    I'm the dog who gets beat
    Shove my nose in shit
    Won't you come and save me?
    Save me
    Feed my eyes
