I'm in my second semester of college and am currently pursuing a major in computer engineering, so this video was just as helpful as it was relaxing. Another great video, Nerd, you never disappoint!
It's strait forward but i would consult a expert who knows what they are doing. Like the possessor, if you touch the bottom connectors might as well throw away you $120 possessor. Some things need to be applied with pressure like the ram. Others are fragile and delicate.
In terms of the processor, it is fairly safe. As someone that works with tech a lot, I can say you are golden if you just invest in a cheap anti-static wristband (make sure you get one that grounds you to the case). They do not cost much and make any stray electrical issues basically impossible. If you cannot do that, just make sure to discharge yourself by touching something conductive before handling components and limit shuffling around too much while you work. I cannot tell you have many components I have messed up do to electrical discharge during schooling and such. XD As for RAM, basically all motherboards have little clips on the ends that automatically "flip up" when you have put them in correctly, so it is quite easy to tell if they are in right. Just put them in the right direction and make sure they "click" into place without using too much force. A gentle nudge is enough. As another tip, when putting on a fan (assuming you are not water cooling since that is a big bag of worms I am not getting into....), you only need A SINGLE DOT of thermal compound. So many troll videos exist that show people basically emptying a whole tube on and it makes me spine tingle and eye twitch watching them. Anyway...XD It is easier than you would think. Just takes some practice.
This is a really cool video! :) I'm actually in the middle of upgrading my PC. Just got my last part in tonight (aside from my video card which I'll be getting within the next couple months), i'll be putting it together tonight. All said and done, these will be the specs of my new PC: i7-6700K @ 4.0Ghz 16Gbs DDR4 RAM 5Tbs of data storage (4Tb HDD & 1Tb SSD) Nvidia GTX1080 (I think you can see why my card will be another month or so. I'll have my current 970 in my rig until I get it) Also, a tip for anyone interested in Solid State Drives. The prices have come down a ton recently, I found the 1Terabyte drive I have for $200, which is cheap as hell for a SSD of that size!

This may be an ASMR video at heart, but you did an excellent job of defining and explaining all the components of a computer. I've watched other instructional videos on building a rig, but I think the fact that you speak softly and slowly (obviously for the purpose of ASMR) makes your video that much better for digesting all that information. Good work, would love to see more videos on computer stuff in the future.
I'm so glad to hear that! I was worried that it was a bit disjointed. In retrospect, I think there were a lot of things I could have explained differently or better, but I was kind of just winging it, I didn't really have a lesson plan. Really glad you found it easy to follow and educational though!
Here's the secret: get a case with lots of space behind the mobo tray (like this one) and jam 'em all back there xD. And make judicious use of velcro cable ties. Voila! Tidy cabling :)
Relaxing and informative. :) I'd love to see more videos like this but maybe with more details than just a beginners guide. Also I have to admit that the cleanliness of your computer is making me feel a little self-conscious about my old dust box gaming rig lol.
Haha I cleaned it before filming. The dust filters help a LOT though. I've also got it set up for positive pressure, which apparently helps keep dust from settling. Anyway, if all goes will, I'd like to do longer in-depth videos about specific components.
For the longest time, I was so afraid of mounting the heatsink. Always figured I'd screw up the thermal paste application and end up frying my CPU. Really though, it's not rocket science, and once I did it a couple of times I got the hang of it. Now I really enjoy building PCs for myself and friends and family. it's funny, I've been subscribed for a little while now to you, and when I first saw you post the video of you in your research setup, I was interested and looked forward to watching and enjoying the relaxing-ness. As soon as I saw this video I had that same excitement for this video. Thank you for making interesting and relaxing videos like this and the research video. I love them and please keep it coming!!
Glad you enjoyed this one! I'd really like to start doing more hands-on educational/instructional videos, be they science-related or PC hardware. They're a bit more effort to produce, though, and I'm going to have to find some money to acquire fresh hardware to feature. Anyway, thanks for the nice comment!
Yes truely superb. As a noob this is extremely informative, relaxing. This could defs be the start of a series of videos. Even visually seeing what the components look like and where they are placed helps so much. Now off to do some reading up! Keep up the tremendous work.
I learned a lot from this video. My brother has always handled the computer stuff in my house and whenever someone asks me about my PC I just end up dumbfounded and have nothing to say. This was a great start to hopefully learning more about how a computer works. Comparing every part to a part of the human body was a really big help.
This is really awesome to see your setup. Thank you! It would be great if you did a how to clean your PC video because yours seems to be very well maintained. Hardly any dust at all omg. I have so much trouble keeping mine clean
Relaxing, I couldn't fall asleep to this because I was so focused on paying attention to the info lol I love this though! Really fascinating for us who aren't PC gamers. Thanks for the uploads as usual!
Yeah I usually go for a major platform upgrade every 5 years or so, with a half-step GPU upgrade in between. CPU progress has slowed considerably lately, and I know lots of people are still rocking Sandy Bridge chips from 2011 without problems.
Yes, it was a carefully considered build! That's one of my favourite parts of building PCs; trying to strike just the right balance among parts and meeting the user's specific needs.
Thank you so much for this video, I genuinely appreciate that you made it. I only have an XBox One and a Mac, I want a gaming PC but didn't know what to get/build. It was a lot thrown at me and I was very confused, this really helped me understands the basics of a PC, thank you!
+theASMRnerd yeah money wasn't really a thought, monitors are triple 4k with 64gb of ram. Also my job requires the compute power so it's more of a business expense
Triple 4K, holy smokes. Yeah, you need every last drop of power you can muster to drive those. I'm envious of your setup man, I would happily settle for a single 4K monitor xD
Greetings from London UK!. Have watched a few of your videos and have to say im hooked. Been a fan of Asmr for a while and there are a few good asmr channels online however incorporating asmr and tech + gaming is next level!. Really enjoyed the video and 30 minutes felt like 5. Definatly more videos about gaming hardware and PC Setups if possible.! Great stuff. Cheers. Subrscribed. 👍🏽
I watched this just to know your Rig, i just built mine a few weeks ago, i7-6700k - watercooled gtx 1070 OC 16 gigs ddr4 ram 6 terabytes of storage (for videos, graphic designing and much more) 850Watt Corsair power supply all together in my beautiful ASUS Z170-E motherboard
Peridot it's great for what it is now! I have some frame issues and stuttering problems while streaming I can't seem to fix. I think the processor I got had an issue but other than that I should be good for a while
My PC: *CPU: Intel Core i5-4570k 3.2Ghz *GPU: ASUS GTX 750Ti 2GB OC *RAM: 8GB DDR3 *Motherboard: Gigabyte B85M-HD3GC2 Micro ATX *Power Supply: Inwin Powerman 410w ATX PSU - 6 Pin *Case: LEC ATX Mini Tower I'm thinking about upgrading to a GTX 1060. Is my M/Board & PSU sufficient? If not, what do you guys recommend.
I think the GTX 1060 would be a good fit for your system. Your motherboard is fine. Your PSU isn't very powerful, but the 1060 is very power efficient, so I think it should be OK as long as you're not doing any crazy overclocking.
It's a lot of fun to design and build your own PC, and really rewarding when it all works! If you would ever like help selecting the best parts for your needs/budget, just shoot me a message :)
I have to say it i love your accent, Your way of speaking english really calms my mind thanks for all your videos. Im looking forward for more content, a greeting from Spain
No tingles, but it was so relaxing that I just woke this morning not understanding how I fell asleep! the first 15 minutes were very interesting by the way. You have a professor's gift. thanks... again
Haha yep, been rocking a ponytail for years. Kept my hair long since my metalhead days, but I've been feeling like I need a change for a while now. No idea what I'd do though, so for now, the ponytail remains!
My husband is 8 yrs older than I and grew up during the 80s hair band craze. He had long hair almost to his waist for many years. He cut it short a year or so before we met. I've always felt cheated!!! ;-)
I prefer positive case pressure; from experience it seems to do a good job of minimizing dust in the case, and it works well with GPU coolers equipped with axial fans, as most third-party performance cards are these days.
Dude, I LOVE this case. It's got pretty much everything I could want. And it's silent as a whisper. Best case I've ever owned by a mile. And it was only about $100, which is a steal IMO, considering how amazing the build quality is.
Oooh it's pretty! Does the sound dampening cloth also help with preventing dust intake? I'm amazed at how spotless of dust your PC is. I don't think mine could be that spotless even after a good cleaning.
Haha confession time, I cleaned it before the video ;). I like to keep it tidy! As far as I can tell, the fabric panels don't help too much with cleanliness, but the dust filters sure do.
This was interesting to see. My 5 year old PC might be kicking the bucket, at least the graphics card is. I'm a bit lost on which components I should be upgrading to keep my PC up to snuff. Just the GPU and RAM? Or all the parts?
+Uploaded1995 like +Jordan K. says, it kind of depends on what you've got. Often a new GPU makes the most noticeable difference, but if it's a 5 year old system, then a new GPU might be held back by your CPU and RAM. And you won't be able to upgrade the CPU or RAM without also getting a new motherboard...at which point you've upgraded a big chunk of the computer :P. You would also have to consider if your old power supply would be up to the task of power newer, potentially more powerful hardware. So...it really all depends on what your current hardware is, and of course what your upgrade budget is. If you post your specs here, I can make some recommendations!
***** Thanks a bunch! So currently, my CPU is IntelCore i5-2500, the GPU is dead, but was a GeForce/Nvidia product. RAM we are talking 6GB (one of the sockets on my motherboard is defect, the PC wouldn't start properly whenever anything was put in there). Now I happen to have mixed brands with the RAM, not sure how much of an impact that makes, although I heard it might not be the best idea. Two are a set og 2 GB Kingston HyperX Blu Dor3 and the other is a Crucial Ballistix Sports 2GB. And the power supply is 730Watts.
Your CPU still has some life left in it! The 2500K is a real trooper, and if you're comfortable overclocking (or if it's already overclocked) then it's still quite viable for 1080p 60FPS gaming in modern titles when paired with a solid GPU. The 2500K has a lot of overclocking headroom, and will easily go over 4GHz on air. You'd have to look up an overclocking guide for your specific motherboard, but I'm sure Google can help you there. You would also need a decent CPU cooler, like a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo or similar (~$30). As for a GPU to pair with it, I'd recommend one of the current mid-range darlings: a GeForce GTX 1060 or a Radeon RX 480. Both will kick the crap out of most modern games at 1080p, and can be had for around $250 USD. Your power supply will be more than enough to handle them. So, for around $300 USD, you could have a soild system, if you don't mind getting your hands a little dirty with overclocking.
+theASMRnerd I'm not too sure how to go about overclocking, but like you said Google might help. I think one of my biggest worries is if the motherboard is a bit defect. The only reason I have to believe that though, was that games would start to crash, with the colors of the screen going purple and green, before the PC became unresponsive. It eventually got to a point where I couldn't start it, although when testing with a friends GPU it could. And there's the defect RAM socket. Should I worry at all about the motherboard or do you think it'll be fine?
I'm looking at building my first PC, nerd (I say that lovingly). I have a question about USB ports, do you use them on your PC? Is that a whole new component that attached to the motherboard? Thank you, love your videos sir.
Congrats on taking the plunge with your first PC build! Yes, USB ports are SUPER important. Mouse, keyboard, pretty much ALL peripherals use them. They're built in to the motherboard, but some motherboards have more ports than others. Generally, you want as many as you can get.
FYI, my build is done! Questions: do you overclock your GPU at all? And do you find that your fan configuration keeps the components cool enough? Thanks!
Due to the fact that I have a self build pc as well, I actually learned a lot from this video haha! I'm upgrading my pc soon, currently have a Dual X R9 270 X!
Thanks, glad you liked it! I'd love to do more PC related videos in future. I've started a series of peripheral reviews with keyboards and the like, and I'll be reviewing an SSD soon :)
great vid! but i rly got just one thing which confuses me: u say u got ur rig running for 2 years? But in the video everything looks super new and clean. Did u clean it just for the video? And if so, please tell me how u did it!
Yes, I cleaned it before the video :) I like to clean it out every couple of months anyway, and it was due. I just use compressed air for the interior, and a soft damp cloth for the exterior. The dust filters help a lot; it doesn't really get that dirty inside even after months.
Surprised you could fit Trident X's under the D14. Did you remove the fins? Bit of a Noctua fan myself (pun intended). Nice vid, keep up the good work!
Yeah, I had to remove the fins. They came off pretty easy, just remove two itty bitty screws and slide them off. It's a tight fit; the 120mm fan literally touches the top of the second stick, but it seems to work fine.
I got my pc around 2 months ago and it’s amazing! It has a ryzen 7 2700x, a 2070 super, my mobo is a x470 master sli/ac, a kraken m22 aio, 16gbs 3200 MHz ram, and a 750 watt psu
i dont know if the 25% to 30% boost is worth it but 1060 is great card i wish i had 1080 of course but $560 is high especially since 1090 then 1100 lol everyday i need new stuff to keep up 😉
Im rocking a i5-2500k + RX 480 8Gb + 8Gb DDR3 1600 MHz in a mini-Itx setup. It's fantastic for 1080p but I need a better mobo. The one I have not only doesn't let me over lock my i5 very well, but it also has the worst possible placement for the SATA ports. My GPU blocks access to the only 6GB/s port and it drives me nuts.
Quick question (it's probably answered in the video but I haven't finished it yet): how do you overclock your hardware? Is it something you actually have to initialize or activate, or does it just happen when you run something that takes a lot of processing power?
+Cormac Reid ohh okay that makes sense. Lol shows how much I know not even knowing there's a difference. I haven't actually ever built a PC nor am I knowledgable in computer hardware, but I'm looking to.
If you're interested in building a PC be sure to take a look at www.pcpartpicker.com . It's a really great site where people show off their builds and can give you a hand with your build depending on the spec and price you're wanting. While it seems daunting to learn about, it's really not too bad! Best of luck!
Being that you're a hardware fan and you produced a video on an early Oculus Rift, have you taken the plunge on a VR headset? What's your thoughts on VR?
I was really keen to pick up a consumer version of a Rift or Vive, but the price completely took the wind out of my sails. There's just no way I can afford one right now. I'm still looking forward to mainstream VR, but it looks like it'll be another hardware generation or two before I can join the party. I've been playing around with my DK2 though, and it still works great with the latest Oculus SDK and every game I've tried it with, so that's been fun!
It seems the price is such a massive barrier and surely must be the biggest factor for the VR sales market coming to a standstill. I purchased a 3D TV when they first went on sale, man did I regret that decision from a financial position! Reluctantly, I'm not going to make that mistake again. Hopefully within 2 years the price will be reduced to a reasonable level.
They suck tho in a windowed case, since the colour of the fans reminds me mostly of shit, literally. :/ Going with delidded Pentium G3258 @ 4.5GHz, Sabertooth Z87, 8GB DDR3-1333 @ 1866, MSI GTX 780Ti @ 1.2GHz, 120GB SSD + 1.82TB HDD's, Corsair HX620 and all fitted in a windowed Define R4 >:3
Awesome pic bro :), I just started pc gaming in July and I'm currently paying for my own pic but right now I like to play ARMA 2 Dayz with an Intel i3 with an integrated graphics card... It's pretty bad for the frames though
Very well explained man, thanks for informing me! I'm interested in building an editing PC and don't know what's more important to render faster and have smoother workflow over all, is it the GPU or CPU that is more important in this case?
Thanks man! For a video editing PC, the CPU is the key component. Having a more powerful CPU will reduce rendering time and speed up previews during editing. The GPU is less important, with most editing software only using it for a few select kinds of effects and transitions. Logical Increments has a fantastic page discussing hardware choices for editing PCs, and several parts lists for different budgets: www.logicalincrements.com/articles/videoediting
Ahh I checked their video out and it was really helpful, for some reason my N00B PC builder brain always thought that the RAM was what defined a PC's quality hahaha but thanks again man, it actually got me into learning the components that make a good PC. It's kind of impressive what Laptops can accomplish though (which is what I have), packing everything in such a small space. I got a £800 laptop that does the job of editing on after effects, premiere and sony vegas well but it does make a lot of noise, at least it'll do the job up until I build my own PC:)
It's true, they can pack an impressive amount of power into laptops these days. Biggest drawback is, as you say, lots of heat in a small space makes for loud fans to keep it cool! But yeah, pretty much any modern processor, mobile or desktop, can render 1080p video fairly capably these days. Faster CPUs with more cores simply means faster rendering and previews. And 8GB of RAM should be enough for and editing PC, you can bump to 16GB if you want the headroom since RAM is cheap, but it's not critical.
I'm currently learning and taking jobs on motion graphics in after effects (I hope to move onto cinema 4D and more programs) so I want to make a more professional set up for myself to increase the workflow, can't wait to have 2 monitors it'll make things much easier. I do think that I'll also have to buy a pretty good GPU because I want it have good 3D capabilities, I'm basing my budget around £1500 which I think is more than enough. Plus the types of projects I do aren't simple editing with just a couple of layers so that's why I wanna make sure I make a beast PC to make things a lot easier XD
Hey man I have a question, do you think that having a liquid cooler for the CPU is better than the air cooler? I've seen videos saying that liquid coolers can leak and basically destroy your other EXPENSIVE af hardware in the process but it looks so much better not having the huge air cooler and it also seems easier to install. Appreciate if you answer:D
Thanks for the suggestion! Unfortunately, nothing has changed in my PC since this video, except my video card, which I already did a video for! But when I do upgrade, you can be I'll do a video or two!
@@theASMRnerd Sounds good man! I'd love to see that whenever you upgrade. Not sure if you remember but you actually helped me build my first PC in your Gtx 980 video, You suggested I get a 960 and that card worked beautifully for years so thanks for that! I've since gotten very into PC hardware and I've upgraded to a Ryzen 2700x and a GTX 1080, I also got a Define R6 case after watching this video and loving how fractal designs their cases.
@@UnlocalizedSimulator Oh that's awesome! I'm glad the 960 served you well, and that you've developed a love of PC hardware! Sounds like you're rocking a pretty sweet setup right now. I plan to upgrade towards the end of this year, once Ryzen 4000 and Geforce 3000 series are out. It's long overdue. So you can expect some build log videos around that time!
@@theASMRnerd Can't wait! Also awesome to see you come to the AMD side of things! Second gen Ryzen has served me well and easily been the most amazing CPU I've ever used, super excited to see the next gen of Ryzen
+theASMRnerd Thanks man, I will. I do have a PC right now but its an older Dell, maybe around 10yrs old. Would I be able to rebuild it enough to play current games or do you need q special type of PC to manually upgrade it?
A 10-year-old pre-built PC will be pretty much impossible to upgrade at this point. You'd be much better off starting fresh rather than trying to find old hardware that may or may not be compatible. A new $500 PC would blow it out of the water.
OK. But man there's so much stuff being released so close together Sony's $400 goggles and the PS4 Pro for the same price. It's way too soon to already be making a better system and those VR goggles are gonna be a must-buy for me.. PC would be worth it though
Ironically, after a day of stressing out over my new build not coming together right (it turned out I didn't have the right screws to position the heatsink over my processor) I come here to watch you talk at length about your build.
that was quite educational... and relaxing
ITS ZEIT BEFORE THE FAME
PC hardware talk is just the best relaxation topic in my opinion..
Found this gem after your 4090 unboxing! Crazy how much everything has changed in such a relatively short time!
I spent 1,200 dollars on my PC. I do not regret it for one single moment. :)
Praise be to Lord GabeN.
DromZ Why don't you play games on it? I would recommend it vastly more than console gaming. Especially considering the mid-high end PC you have
What do you have? I have 6700k, Gtx 1070, 16 gb Hyperx ram, on a gigabyte gaming ultra board, with a 850 supernova g2 in a corsair 600c.
R Langer honestly mines ok but compared to yours it's terrible!
Luke Hilzinger Pretty solid my dude
You inspired me to learn how to build a PC and now I have my own Gaming Computer :D
What are your specs?
bump
I'm in my second semester of college and am currently pursuing a major in computer engineering, so this video was just as helpful as it was relaxing. Another great video, Nerd, you never disappoint!
Nice profile pic!
I’d love to see an updated pc tour ☺️
Very nice! I built my computer about a year ago, amazing how easy it is! all you need is a screwdriver and some internet tutorial videos!
ASMR plays or a manual but it is so straight foward
BreakingDimes 0_0 only thing I consider to be in any way difficult is cable management, those sly cables.
with a modern case you even do not need a screwdriver :)
It's strait forward but i would consult a expert who knows what they are doing. Like the possessor, if you touch the bottom connectors might as well throw away you $120 possessor. Some things need to be applied with pressure like the ram. Others are fragile and delicate.

This is a really cool video! :) I'm actually in the middle of upgrading my PC. Just got my last part in tonight (aside from my video card which I'll be getting within the next couple months), i'll be putting it together tonight.
All said and done, these will be the specs of my new PC:
i7-6700K @ 4.0Ghz
16Gbs DDR4 RAM
5Tbs of data storage (4Tb HDD & 1Tb SSD)
Nvidia GTX1080
(I think you can see why my card will be another month or so. I'll have my current 970 in my rig until I get it)
Also, a tip for anyone interested in Solid State Drives. The prices have come down a ton recently, I found the 1Terabyte drive I have for $200, which is cheap as hell for a SSD of that size!

it's ok, l wouldn't say perfect.
Get a case with room behind it. Some cables wont reach but you can still fit it nicely
For whatever reason I found the hand motions starting at 26:45 really triggering. No clue why, but, hey, relaxed is relaxed. Not complaining.
Wow. Fite me m8.
Eugene Vdh haha bigot xD
As someone planning to build their first gaming pc in a few months time, this is really informative! Plus the asmr was a nice bonus!
Awesome, really glad you found it helpful! Good luck with your first build, have fun with it :D
Relaxing and informative. :)
I'd love to see more videos like this but maybe with more details than just a beginners guide.
I've always found the process of building my own PC daunting! Loved this video!

This was a refreshing, nice, and tidy video. Good to see something simple but good, keep up the good work!
Awesome, glad you think so, thanks man!
Talking knowlingly about something is a great trigger oddly. So is general tapping and hand movements, so looking forward to some more of these!
Really calming and relaxing video to listen too before going to bed ^_^
I would love more content like this! Very relaxing and it is very interesting to see your hardware choices!
Awesome, glad you liked it! I'd really like to start doing more PC hardware related videos.
it's funny, I've been subscribed for a little while now to you, and when I first saw you post the video of you in your research setup, I was interested and looked forward to watching and enjoying the relaxing-ness.
Great, happy to hear you liked it! I was sort of winging it as I went along, but I'm glad you feel that you learned some things :)
I learned a lot from this video. My brother has always handled the computer stuff in my house and whenever someone asks me about my PC I just end up dumbfounded and have nothing to say. This was a great start to hopefully learning more about how a computer works. Comparing every part to a part of the human body was a really big help.
Glad you liked my human body analogy! It's not perfect, but I think it makes it clearer.
Sweet rig! Built mine in early 2012 and it still handles everything I throw at it. Thanks for a relaxing tour.
Behold the PC Master Race! Our framerates HIGH and our temperatures lower. Join us and ascend to glory!
Expect if you have an AMD cpu with the stock cooling :P
I have an Intel i7-6700 so ha!
rip my AMD 8120 xd
+Yung Kirk sure you do you lying poor shit u have intel celerion dont speak shit
+Power Wave All these salty console plebs who don't understand just how fucking awful their systems are.
This is really awesome to see your setup. Thank you! It would be great if you did a how to clean your PC video because yours seems to be very well maintained. Hardly any dust at all omg. I have so much trouble keeping mine clean
As one of the target members of the audience you aimed this for, this video was perfect!
Awesome, glad to hear it! Sometimes it's hard to know if I'm hitting the mark. Don't want to be too simplistic, nor too technical.
Relaxing, I couldn't fall asleep to this because I was so focused on paying attention to the info lol I love this though! Really fascinating for us who aren't PC gamers. Thanks for the uploads as usual!
Haha perhaps you can fall asleep on the second watch-thru ;). And maybe you'll become a computer wiz while you sleep!
Awesome setup!
It's coming up on 2 years old now, but it's holding up well :)
MY Uncles setup is like 4 years old and he can run every game today Also Love ur videos
Yeah I usually go for a major platform upgrade every 5 years or so, with a half-step GPU upgrade in between. CPU progress has slowed considerably lately, and I know lots of people are still rocking Sandy Bridge chips from 2011 without problems.
***** No way. You Reply'ed Ur Awesome man
theASMRnerd yeah, I'm still on an i5 2500k.
I can tell you took care in selecting you parts. Really good setup with no obvious bottlenecks. Can't complain!
Yes, it was a carefully considered build! That's one of my favourite parts of building PCs; trying to strike just the right balance among parts and meeting the user's specific needs.
From someone who doesn't know much about computers that was very educational. Thank you
Yes I would love to see more PC related ASMR videos!
Awesome! I really want to do more, but I need to figure out how to get my hands on fresh hardware to feature first :P
Gosh! This channel is simply brilliant! You never cease to amaze me!
Thank yoooou :D. Really glad you're continuing to enjoy my stuff :)
Thank you so much for this video, I genuinely appreciate that you made it. I only have an XBox One and a Mac, I want a gaming PC but didn't know what to get/build. It was a lot thrown at me and I was very confused, this really helped me understands the basics of a PC, thank you!
Awesome, glad it helped you out!
Loved it! Go for it man, I'd watch the hardware series!!!
Great video, I've been wanting to try and build my own pc for years but Ive never got round to finding out where i start
Great video I love PC hardware as well would love to see more videos on it! Keep up the good work.
Nice setup, I'm rocking with 5960x and 2 Fury x's pc gaming is just amazing
Damn son, that's some hefty hardware! Sounds like money was no object.
Yeah it takes the power but it's worth it when you can play games action all three screens and some pretty high settings
Makes my 1080p 144hz dual r9 390x i7 6700k 16gb ddr4 3200mhz ram setup sound cheap
is there any chance that you've ran some benchmarks on that thing? I'm interested to find out what yours scores are!
Hey man, thanks for the kind words! Really glad you enjoy my stuff so much. Hope you continue to enjoy what I have to offer :)
I really liked your interview on asmr university. you said a lot of interesting stuff.
Hey, thanks! I really enjoyed participating in that interview, Dr. Richard had some excellent questions.
Thanks for this one! This is a grear way to recap on my studies...
Great, Its so hard to type half asleep
No problemo!
Very relaxing, and interesting! All around a great video. Love your work man👍🤘
Much appreciated man, thanks :D
Honestly my favorite ASMR channel!! top notch stuff!! 😄👌
Thank you, that means a lot to me :D
I watched this just to know your Rig, i just built mine a few weeks ago,
i7-6700k - watercooled
gtx 1070 OC
16 gigs ddr4 ram
6 terabytes of storage (for videos, graphic designing and much more)
850Watt Corsair power supply
all together in my beautiful ASUS Z170-E motherboard
Sweet rig, enjoy it!
NASA called, they want their pc back
Really solid build! Should be good for the next 3 years I think :D
Peridot it's great for what it is now! I have some frame issues and stuttering problems while streaming I can't seem to fix. I think the processor I got had an issue but other than that I should be good for a while
Tarik Editz
>NASA
Can you repeat that?
My PC:
*CPU: Intel Core i5-4570k 3.2Ghz
*GPU: ASUS GTX 750Ti 2GB OC
*RAM: 8GB DDR3
*Motherboard: Gigabyte B85M-HD3GC2 Micro ATX
*Power Supply: Inwin Powerman 410w ATX PSU - 6 Pin
*Case: LEC ATX Mini Tower
I'm thinking about upgrading to a GTX 1060.
+theASMRnerd Excellent! Thanks for your input. 😃👍
+theASMRnerd Just letting you know that I got an ASUS Turbo GTX 1060 a couple weeks ago and am looking forward to testing some games with it! :) 😊😎
Awesome! I'm sure it'll be a major improvement from your 750 Ti, let me know how it runs!
***** Will do! :)
this is actually helpful for me! and relaxing! great job
Perfect, that's what I was hoping for :D
This just reminds me how much I need to make a gaming PC.
Its fun i'll give you that...
It's a lot of fun to design and build your own PC, and really rewarding when it all works! If you would ever like help selecting the best parts for your needs/budget, just shoot me a message :)
Hi Fushi :D
I have to say it i love your accent, Your way of speaking english really calms my mind thanks for all your videos. Im looking forward for more content, a greeting from Spain
That's interesting to hear! I never really think about my own accent, but I'm glad you like it :)
please google new york and boston accents nothing better in us maybe Minnesota i also love the north carolina accent 😁
I love that case,I have the Windowless one
Such a great case! Mine is the windowless version too.
you could add a window.
Man this is awesome ASMR and also very informative. Great video!
Thanks :D
Learnt so much from this. Twas very awesome, also love this style of asmr 😊 Great job!
Awesome :D. I'd like to do more like this in future :)
No tingles, but it was so relaxing that I just woke this morning not understanding how I fell asleep! the first 15 minutes were very interesting by the way. You have a professor's gift. thanks... again
This is becoming one of the most relaxing ASMR channels to which I suscribe. And are you rocking a ponytail? If so, that's pretty sweet.
I've always felt cheated!!! ;-)
Still one of my favorite videos on RUclips!
Great content sir! Didn't realize there was a gaming ASMR, got a new sub! Question, do you prefer negative or positive case pressure?
I prefer positive case pressure; from experience it seems to do a good job of minimizing dust in the case, and it works well with GPU coolers equipped with axial fans, as most third-party performance cards are these days.
Just upgraded to the fractal r5 it is such a quiet case!
Depends on the parts you have at the moment.
I know exactly nothing about gaming PCs or what makes them run, but this was lovely to listen to and fall asleep to! ^_^
Haha well maybe now, you know at least a little something about PCs or what makes them run ;). And if not, I hope you at least had a good sleep :)
Great video! I literally have the same PC except for the power supply and my gpu is a msi variant
It would be great if you did a video showing of your peripherals like headphones and keyboards
Generally, you want as many as you can get.
theASMRnerd thanks for the input! That explains why I haven't been able to find much info, it was way more simple than I expected.
FYI, my build is done! Questions: do you overclock your GPU at all? And do you find that your fan configuration keeps the components cool enough? Thanks!
Due to the fact that I have a self build pc as well, I actually learned a lot from this video haha! I'm upgrading my pc soon, currently have a Dual X R9 270 X!
do you know anything g about m.2 ssd drives can they really hit 2000 writes per second ? do i need a new mobo?
i love the sound of your voice....it works so we'll with asmr....total relaxation :-)
Thanks man, much appreciated and glad my vids help you chill!
wow you have a haswell core i7 processor. yeah you really do need that noctua cooler for that thing. those haswell CPU's are toaster ovens.
I loved the video
Glad you enjoyed it! I plan to do a whole series of PC hardware videos...just gotta save up the money to buy the stuff to do the videos with xD
That was a great video. Learned a lot as well as very relaxing!
No problem, glad you found it both relaxing and informative! Thanks for watching :)
I really liked this video, I think you should make more pc related asmr videos for sure
Thanks, glad you liked it! I'd love to do more PC related videos in future. I've started a series of peripheral reviews with keyboards and the like, and I'll be reviewing an SSD soon :)
Neato :3 I don't know much about ssd other than it has a higher read/write speed. I keep my os on it
I've been looking for a new video like this! Yes!
great vid! but i rly got just one thing which confuses me: u say u got ur rig running for 2 years? But in the video everything looks super new and clean. Did u clean it just for the video? And if so, please tell me how u did it!
Yes, I cleaned it before the video :) I like to clean it out every couple of months anyway, and it was due. I just use compressed air for the interior, and a soft damp cloth for the exterior. The dust filters help a lot; it doesn't really get that dirty inside even after months.
Every so often I just need to hear you say "but Aunt May' and the Tobey Maguire impression is complete.
Yeah i think those fins are mostly cosmetic so no loss really. It's a sweet setup you got there.
i wish i could keep my pc this clean :S awesome vid :)
Yeah I was gonna say, not a spec of dust. Mine on the other hand... Gonna actually check that case out.
The dust filters help a LOT!
I got my pc around 2 months ago and it’s amazing! It has a ryzen 7 2700x, a 2070 super, my mobo is a x470 master sli/ac, a kraken m22 aio, 16gbs 3200 MHz ram, and a 750 watt psu
Really liked this video. I know nothing about PCs, but I do need to upgrade. Thanks :)
Thank you, so glad you liked it! If you'd ever like a hand picking out parts for a PC upgrade, I'd be happy to help :)
do you think its worth going from 7950 3gb to 1060 3gb ? for $200 ? i dont have win 10 yet so maybe not cause dx 12 needs win 10
i dont know if the 25% to 30% boost is worth it but 1060 is great card i wish i had 1080 of course but $560 is high especially since 1090 then 1100 lol everyday i need new stuff to keep up 😉
Im rocking a i5-2500k + RX 480 8Gb + 8Gb DDR3 1600 MHz in a mini-Itx setup.
Also, just finished video and it was so informative and relaxing! Would definitely appreciate more vids like this!
What is it that you are looking to overclock?
In short, CPU overclocking is usually done in the BIOS and the GPU overclocking through a software.
Keep up the great work. It's much appreciated!
Thanks man! Also, you're first!
I'm watching this video not for ASMR purposes but because I'm actually interested in the content ! XD
Gr8 video. Also we have the same psu?
Thanks! It's a great PSU!
hey are you going to finish the theif series.. I'm kinda addicted to it lol
Not certain it'll ever be actually finished, but there will certainly be more episodes to come :). Glad you're enjoying it!
Nice hardware and great ASMR!
Noctua brother! I just love those.
They make some pretty amazing coolers!
They suck tho in a windowed case, since the colour of the fans reminds me mostly of shit, literally. :/
Going with delidded Pentium G3258 @ 4.5GHz, Sabertooth Z87, 8GB DDR3-1333 @ 1866, MSI GTX 780Ti @ 1.2GHz, 120GB SSD + 1.82TB HDD's, Corsair HX620 and all fitted in a windowed Define R4 >:3
Tuuhio I do enjoy the sand/chocolate colors.
This video got me interested in PC hardware and now i have built my own!
Hey, that's awesome! Enjoying your new PC?
theASMRnerd yeah man its great, i'm thinking of upgrading when i have the money!
Awesome pic bro :), I just started pc gaming in July and I'm currently paying for my own pic but right now I like to play ARMA 2 Dayz with an Intel i3 with an integrated graphics card... It's pretty bad for the frames though
Another EPIC video. He strikes again! All hail theasmrnerd
Thanks man :D
Hey man you should do an updated 2020 PC Hardware tour
Wonderful video. I love tech related vids. Thank you
You're very welcome, thanks for watching!
Can u make an updated version of this
I'd love to see more pc hardware stuff!
That's great to hear! I have big plans to do more, I'm just saving up the money to buy the hardware :P
I'm very happy now because you answered *-* Very nice that you read your comments :) Love your Videos. Greetings from Germany :]
Thank you! I try to read and respond to all my comments :). Germany is a wonderful country, near the top of my list of places to visit again!
what would be a good gpu pair with an intel core 2 quad q9550?
hey, for interest sake, what game(S) do you play most on a regular basis?
Right now? Overwatch, DOOM, Diablo 3, Grim Dawn, No Man's Sky, and a little bit of Guild Wars 2 and Hearthstone.
Loved the vid
Glad you liked it man, I hope to do more!
Something really useful.. If I ever decide to go full PC then I'll use this as a quick reference guide
If you ever wanna take the plunge and build your own PC, shoot me a PM, I'd be happy to provide some advice!
Yeah it's hard to decide where to put your money, I know that feel. PSVR does look pretty awesome!
Ironically, after a day of stressing out over my new build not coming together right (it turned out I didn't have the right screws to position the heatsink over my processor) I come here to watch you talk at length about your build.
