It was a True Honor to attend this event. I was there in support of the Oakland Police Dept. We lost four officers in 2009. It was the first time I had ever been to the Memorial. It is something I will never Forget
I am also proud to have participated in this beautiful candlelight vigil. My Father was a Sheriff who was shot and killed in the line of duty. It NEVER gets easier. God Bless all those who made the ultimate sacrifice for us. May they be at Peace in Paradise. And may God give the families of Fallen Officers the strength to endure all they must go through for the rest of their lives... Stay Safe, Jody
this was truly a touching service. As a child of one of these fallen officers that had their name added to the wall, i was honored to have been surrounded by such wonderful people. My father was killed not even two months before my fourteenth birthday. Even though no one story is the same, we all share a similar grief. Rest in peace dad. I am proud to attend this yearly with my brother. We are both along side with our oldest brother members of the Law Enforcement community.

I was there--and will continue to be there every year.
I was proud to have participated in this!
We will always remember those who gave all and those who are willing to at any moment. Thank you brothers & sisters in blue.

I was there. I got a little emotional. I felt like my family grew to 10,000
"It is not how these officers died that made them heroes, it is how they lived."- carved on the wall
